I never received an email with my policy number. I checked spam and my junk mail and nothing in those boxes either. I double checked and the email was correct so not sure why I never received it but I needed to prove that I bought the insurance for an activity I did but luckily I took a screenshot. I hope in the future I will receive my policy in an email.

Mostly it was an easy process. However, it was unclear what was covered and there was no indication about value or limits for each type of coverage. I still don’t know. It would have been nice if, for each type of coverage (standard, etc), there was a plain list somewhere of the items covered and the limit or exclusions.

Very difficult to get in touch with via phone. Usually I was routed to a 3 rd party associate that usually couldn’t answer my question. I asked for a detailed copy of my policy with my name on it with contact phone numbers and only received a generic boilerplate docunent

I’ve used world nomads several times and they were great up until I had to file a claim. They accepted the claim but the money never hit my account. When I followed up they said that payment had been done and that it was a problem at my end. So I asked for payment proof so I could follow up with the bank. They kept telling me that payment had been done and that I should follow up with the bank (how would I follow up without payment proof). Now they are saying that “payment is being reviewed”, whatever that means. Absolutely bad experience, as a frequent traveler I won’t be using them again.

My international flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues with the plane. The airline rebooked us for a flight the next day but that was not acceptable since I had to get back to work the next day. We were able to find a flight back home with a 12-hr delay but with a different route and I had to pay for another leg of the trip. World Nomads now claims that "mechanical issues" is not under the reason that I can be reimbursed for the trip interruption. There were 15 reasons, their agent said, but plane mechanical issues is not one of them. Really??? My family travels all the time and we always buy travel insurance. This is the first time I claim from any travel insurance company but this will be the LAST travel insurance I buy from World Nomads.

Was not clear about minors. I was a parent registering my child, and it was a bit unclear.

Convenient, easy to purchase, clearly communicated terms and conditions. Found what we needed for health travel insurance.

I purchased insurance online and could not find a confirmation email regarding the policy. When I sign into your website it says I don't have a policy. I then sent an email requesting help and got no reply after several days. I then called and got cut off. I later was able to talk to a representative who was able to give me the policy number. However, she informed me that the website portal needs to be "fixed" on your end in order for me to view my policy online. However, I will need to send another email. It feels like I am getting the run around because your system does not function well. It makes me skeptical of your ability to provide a decent policy. I will send the second email as instructed. If I don't get a reply very soon I will cancel my insurance.

The online application was easy to navigate and the insurance covered what I had hoped for! The price was affordable as well.

I, thankfully did not have to make a claim on this journey! However there was one trip a few years back where I was taken care of in the best way possible.

Although I expect full well I will be able to connect with my group overseas, the program I signed up for is expensive and non-refundable from the time of purchase. This insurance is reasonably priced and gives me the peace of mind I seek should the unforseen occur and prevent me from going on my group trip.

They were very upfront with the terms of the insurance coverage. All of the activities I wanted to do while travelling were easily found on the website. The policy was more clearly worded than many other insurance companies I was considering.
