I have used world nomads a few times now, but mainly on my gap year. What stands out is most insurance companies require you to have a “journey” (trip incl return), whereas I did not, but world nomads will still cover you. Affordable prices, reassuring & easy to read policy. Have recommended to friends & family for their adventures.

I have been using World Nomads for several years now and while thankfully, I have never had a reason to make a claim, I have found their customer service in relation to purchasing coverage excellent. With short descriptions of each item, the website makes it easy to decide the level of coverage you want, however, the full policy details are available if you need more information. After a few easy clicks, you can purchase a policy and should you need to contact them, I've found their agents very responsive to my queries. I wish the cost of policies were more affordable, however.

I have reached out twice and not received any confirmation of my purchase. I will need the policy number if something happens and the lack of response on World Nomads’ part is unprofessional.

Unfortunately, our tour was cancelled therefore we had to cancel our coverage. However, we have not received a refund. Please look into it.

I'm based in Ireland, and I got insurance with them for a small trip in Europe. Their underwriter for the EU seems to be collinson. Okay, so I submitted a claim, for a small amout of expenses. Like 800 Euro. Okay, they were reviewing it like 2 weeks, then they came to a conclusion. Took 100 EUR deductible and the rest goes to my account. Okay. So, they sent the money to my SEPA account, and I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting. Somehow they lost the money. I messaged them 1 week later and, again, I'm waiting and waiting and waiting. For 2 whole weeks they couldn't find the money. They didn't give me any information, any at all. Their finance department is absolutely incompetent, How can you not find a payment for over 2 weeks? So, I'm dealing with them, Collinson EU. Okay, they found the money. Asked for a new account number. OKAY, I gave them a new SEPA account number. I'm waiting and waiting, I'm already in the 3-4 week of this mess that they can't fix. And guess what they said? "We can't accept this number, we need a current account." End What? That's all , no other details? So are we playing a guessing game or what. Am I supposed to guess what kind of account they want? ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT. I don't think I'll ever see that small settlement. First and last time , I get insurance with world nomads or collinson.

Website was easy to navigate, prices were slightly less than other companies. Focused on medical coverage and the activities relevant to my trip. Nice not to have to wase through add-ons.
