I’m writing this review to share my deeply frustrating experience with PMT regarding the theft of two valuable guitars during a transaction they arranged. My partner had agreed to sell the guitars to PMT, and they organized the collection via ParcelForce. However, ParcelForce failed to deliver the items and falsely claimed they did not attend the property. This claim is disproven by CCTV footage, which was provided to PMT promptly. Despite the evidence, PMT has shown a slow and inadequate response to what is clearly a case of theft. As the party that arranged the courier, PMT has legal responsibilities under UK consumer law, including the duty to act with reasonable care and skill. When a courier they hire fails to deliver or mishandles property, PMT remains liable for resolving the issue and ensuring the customer is compensated. It is also expected that PMT would have ensured adequate insurance coverage for items they arranged to have collected. Instead, my partner has been left in limbo with no resolution since Friday. Given the value of the guitars and the evidence of theft, it is unacceptable that PMT has not provided timely updates or compensation. By arranging the courier, PMT formed a binding contract to purchase the guitars, and they are responsible for the actions of their chosen courier. This lack of urgency and failure to protect their customer’s property makes me question their reliability as a company. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with PMT. Based on this experience, I would not recommend their services, particularly when high-value items are involved. As a solicitor myself, I am well aware of PMT’s legal obligations in cases like this. Their failure to take responsibility and provide a resolution not only reflects poorly on their service but also raises serious concerns about their handling of high-value transactions. Based on this experience, I would not recommend their services to others and I will be taking legal action on behalf of my partner.
