Halfords Company. Did an OK job but quite expensive. Quoted me £57 extra on top of £99 service just to replace the disk brake pads! A 15 minute job on my bike that I will do myself. I only had it serviced with them to maintain the warranty on my bike. Once it's out of warranty I won't be using again. == Response to reply == So £12.99 for the pads is fair? I went to my local Halfords and bought a set of Shimano pads for £8.99. You are owned by Halfords so you should get trade price not retail.

2 weeks before ride London I had a crack in my frame and thought it was all over, but havebike came to the rescue and fitted a new frame for me, the customer service was excellent, special mention to matt who was really helpful. I think you do pay a slight premium for the pickup and drop off but worth it, bike ran smoothly after the frame swap too for a whole 100 miles

I had a mixed experience with them. A collection was booked for a Saturday between 9am and 11am. Due to the neighbours keeping me awake all night, I put my alarm at 8:50. When I woke up after 2 hours of sleep, I turned on my phone and I had two messages. One was sent about 8:40 saying that the collection person would be there in about 15 minutes, and one from a few seconds ago saying that the person was there. I rushed into the street and saw the car leaving. I made signs but the driver did not see me. I tried to call, but he had used the general phone number of the company, rather than a mobile phone number, to call me. The company is closed on weekends, so I couldn’t reach anyone. Basically the collection person came 10mn in advance compared to the given time slot and did not even wait 1mn for me to come down the stairs. Therefore I slept 2 hours for nothing and could not get the collection rescheduled immediatly. However, the Monday after the incident, I was offered a full refund and a discount if I were to use their services again. Therefore I would say that the problem in this case was mostly an individual staff member rather than the company as a whole.

Absolute rabble of sh🤬t! When it comes to these jokers, employ the use of a long well-lubricated barge pole!

Bit hit and miss ,used them 3 times now , like sending your car for a service you know it’s going to cost more than just the price of the service, first time was quick turnaround all good second time was awful , 2 weeks they had it with out any communication , could not get through on the phone or email , eventually they said could not get hold of a bottom bracket so could not do the job and refunded me for the cost of it ,would have been nice to be offered a discount on any further bookings for the inconvenience , 3rd time was all good 3 days and bike runs like a dream but at a cost of £200 , it’s convenient as I don’t get much free time but would rather use my local independent bike shop . I see Havebike have joined up with Halfords which is a bit worrying

Bike was collected on a Monday and back on the Wednesday. It needed quite a lot of work doing so was very surprised it came back as quickly as that but very happy too as had a big ride coming up. I was given options for the work needed so I could choose the quality of the parts used rather than just having what they thought should be used. I can honestly say it hasn't ridden this well even when it was brand new.

They advertise to cover bike services in Surrey but they are actually in Elephant and Castle (central London) that’s why their service period is min 3 days including pick up and return but in reality they keep your bike for 5 days as when they pick your bike up they got many other bikes to service. I gave new tyres, cassettes and chains to reduce the waiting time. After paying for £99 per bike for the ‘most popular’ premium service, they sent me an email asking me to pay more money to change tyre, putting cassettes and chains. I refused to do so since I can do them at home myself. In the end they removed those extra charges as a ‘good will gesture’. At this moment I just want my bikes so asked them to finally check one of rear wheels as it made noise. they immediately said on the phone I may need new hub. I told them that wheel was used just once before the service so the hub is new. 🤬They then came back saying the noise was from ill fitted cassette. Phew. They cleaned the bikes well and put new cables but still have the noise from the rear wheel and am looking for a decent bike mechanic to fix my problem. I’m utterly unhappy with the service and will not go back to them. I do not recommend them.

I was quoted £220 for very simple and basic service procedures. This included excessive seperate labour fees for every single adjustment, for example, £56 to change brake pads which can be done in five minutes. This was on top of part costs. They also attempted to upsell me with things I specifically told them I didn't want. It's way way way over priced and they didn't actually fix the issue I had with my wheels rubbing on the brake pads. Go to your local independent bike shop instead. ***Response to HaveBike*** It's not standard to have spereate, full priced labour fees for every single bit of recommended work. I'd have had no problem paying RRP for parts, the the issue is paying half a dozen different labour fees for simple jobs that take no time to complete. I took the bike to another shop who fixed the issue but thank you for the offer.

Very disappointing. Booked a service, was then contacted by Have Bike with their upsells which I agreed to. Ended up paying nearly £160 and the gears were not even tightened. Such a basic part of the service. Gears are slipping all over the place. Annoying and also kind of dangerous Contacted them to get it resolved and the driver didn't show up. Poor communication This business seems to be more interested in the up selling rather providing a decent customer experience. Save your money and go to your local independent
