Even better that, unlike Air BnB, only a deposit was needed to secure the booking. Would definitely recommend anyone searching for short term lets in Edinburgh.

However, there were numerous issues with small things - notice board falling down, dirty oven, oven not working, brown faux leather sofa peeling all over the place, door not shutting/opening properly in one of the bedroom and then causing a hole in the wall... We raised all of this in the week but heard little. THEN the loo was blocked up - this may have been my students fault but to keep the whole £200.00 considering the issues we had raised seemed ludicrous.

United Kingdom | 30 August 2018I was uhm-ing and ah-ing whether to book through Edlets for a few days having read some of their awful reviews. I eventually decided to go for it after being quoted such a good price for what I was looking for. I shouldn't have bothered. This is an unusual review, as Edlets themselves weren't horrific, but the experience was awful. I decided to book a trip to Edinburgh for New Years. Having seen the extortionate prices of other accommodation, I was pleasantly surprised when Edlets quoted me £100 for 2 nights. This seemed a bit low (not that I was complaining) - so I asked for the price to be confirmed on 2 separate occasions. I was told this was definitely the cost, so I paid the £15.00 deposit. Once this was sorted, later that afternoon I booked the flights, airport parking & Hogmonay tickets (not cheap!). All evening I felt chuffed this had all been sorted, to then wake up the following morning to an email from the host telling me the price quoted was incorrect and that they will need £200 in their hand before my arrival in Dec, plus any fees that Edlets will charge. Obviously this was upsetting as I had just booked the rest of the trip based on this original quote as I was within my budget. I responded saying the original quote should be honored based on this, but the host refused, and then exchanged some blunt emails about my account details to process the refund. I did not get an apology from the host about what had happened. Edlets weren't the real issue here, but shouldn't a booking agent have set prices for the accommodations they offer on their system, to avoid this mess? Or offer to swallow the difference themselves in a circumstance such as this, so that the customer isn't screwed over? All correspondence with Jill was professional and polite, and she ensured I received the refund for the deposit as well as apologising on the host's behalf. Luckily after searching high and low, I managed to find accommodation elsewhere for not much more than the original quoted price. I personally wouldn't bother with the faf of Edlets if I were to travel to Edinburgh again, given how stress-free it is booking a hotel through a proper booking site.
