On the 25/08/23 we booked a cruise departing 05/01/25.On the 02/12/24 with no previous heart problems my wife suffered a major heart attack. Admitted to hospital for urgent treatment, the Cardio consultant stated my wife 'not fit to go on the cruise, 'and further medical treatment was required. Phoned ROL on 05/12/24 to cancel cruise and the reason why. ROL representative told me it was not possible to transfer to another cruise at a later date. Had letter from ROL informing me that I would receive partial refund. Told that Ambassador would retain 85% of my payments made, due to late cancellation. Insurance co recommended by ROL making it difficult to receive a small payment from them. Having made many visits to our Doctor for form completing, medical records, signatures etc Dr's charge for this service. We have lost over £11,000 for this cancelled trip, and if ??? insurance compensate us it will be for a minimal amount. Was our junior suite resold to a late booking customer?. Do ROL inform Ambassador of reason why a cruise is cancelled by customer?. **Still waiting since 05/12/24 for the refund of £1,963.52 from yourselves.** Your ref QB462817.
