Fast quote and easy to sort

I used ratesdotca to buy travel insurance many times. I get a list of insurance options fast and most of them can be bought online. it is very simple and easy to use.

Lack of transparency with the price, and disconnect between the site and insurance company. I recently bought Manulife travel insurance through Ratesdotca. They stated the premium, which I paid for. I even got an email confirming the premium. But on my credit card statement, I was charged more than the premium. When I called Ratesdotca to ask about the discrepancy, they told me that I have to contact Manulife. This feels like a run around. If they state their premium, then that is what I expect to pay. I got transferred twice before I got hold of someone at Manulife. They told me, its the premium plus tax. Tax is fine, but it should have been clearly stated on Ratesdotca when I bought the insurance. Additionally, in the confirmation email, it said that I will get an official confirmation of coverage and insurance documentation by Manulife. I didn't get that. Its not in my spam folder. I also asked Manulife about that, and they said they sent it, but I still haven't gotten it. Now I have to call they again to chase it. This experience is frustrating and unsettling. I will not buy anything else from Ratesdotca if they can't effectively manage customer's expectation.

I was told that the bank that was giving me the best interest rate was to call me with 48 hrs to further discuss my options. I have yet to receive a call from said bank

Once again, I felt sorry for this terrible advertisement. I was hoping to save some money on my insurance. I wasted my time filling out an application and ended up nowhere. I keep my insurance as it is. I guess I am a better negotiator than all those brokers.

It was great to be able to compare a number of different quotes for emergency medical travel insurance from one place.

Ratesdot makes it easy to decide with their selection criteria. Ive used TUGO in the past but never made a claim so can not comment on their efficiency.

Web site was easy to navigate, quick, and affordable.

Rates passed me on to a referral to BMO for mortgage rates etc and said I would hear from them within 24 hour period. It’s been 48 hours, no call, no contact. Not helpful.
