Very straight forward process. Time from start to closing was less than 3 weeks. Staff was very responsive.

Since they had taken over as my loan provider, things have been pretty streamlined. The few times that I've had to call, I've had to wait on hold, but this is easily explained by a higher influx of calls. I have no complaints about working with PennyMac.

Overall a great experience. The team worked together quickly to get it done without any errors. A couple of minor confusions due to the weirdness of Texas state laws but everything worked out.

PennyMac offered to do a cash out refinance for my existing VA loan. They estimated that I could take out around $20,000 at no significant increase in monthly mortgage payments. After 6 weeks of exhasting procedures for paperwork, documentation and the usual stuff one goes through like pest inspections and property appraisal we they said we were approved and set a time for the nortary to come to our house to sign the final documents WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN? STOP You can't get a cash out refinance loan on a VA loan in TEXAS it's illegal. Yep We spent money and time on inspections and having our credit score go down for nothing. Won't credit me back the money we are out for the inspections. Won't take or return my calls. And I'm a current PennyMac customer LOL ridiculous company. Needless to say we are getting a refinance for a better rate through Rocket and they are like night and day.

Carlton, along with Tate (my original loan officer), were above and beyond dedicated, knowledgeable, invested and professional. I could not have expected anything more from these two and the rest of the PennyMac team. They both deserve to be recognized for the phenomenal service they provide to individuals like me on a daily basis. They helped me turn the page on a new financial chapter of my life with the savings from this refinance and I am so grateful and feel so lucky to have had their help!

You need to have better communications between departments. This could be a result of Covid 19 procedures. When I have to talk to 4 different people to set up my payment schedule only to be told the new loan data is not available and to wait a week. One week went bye and I tried again to no avail. I still do not have a payment schedule.

We had wanted to change our mortgage to conventional for some time and decided to do it now. Many thanks to the professionals at Penny Mac. They made the process easy and we got the results we were aiming for.
