United States | 26 April 2020Wish I had trusted the bad reviews.... spot on. When you talk to a loan officer from pennymac they have this whole bit about being on a recorded line and stating your full name and social every time before you can begin...this is an act to make you feel like you are committing to something. You are not. They asked what rate they had to offer to keep our business during the refinance. One of the options we offered was 3% with a 2500 credit... they called back and stated "Now remember we're on a recorded line Matt, if we offer you 2500 credit with 3% will you commit to refinancing with us?" I said yes and submitted the loan app, 2 days PennyMac hadn't called back. I was able to get ahold of my loan officer, Laurie Baker, and she informed me her she wasn't able to offer the deal that I had commited to in order to stop shopping. It was foolish of me to trust the amiable sales person who works for a big bank. Our agreement went out the window. Don't use Pennymac. Will never get my business again and I will continue to warn all my friends and family.
