United States | 03 January 2024Ordered 2 bottles of wine as gift. They weren’t delivered to someone who was home all day. Wooden Cork believes scribble as proof of delivery and told me to contest charge with my credit card company. So I did.

United States | 23 December 2023I had ordered from them and when the order had gone through, there was a confusing notice about an additional shipping charge that was $69.99, as much as the order itself (plus the FEDEX charge). I went online and saw the reviews about the high charge, 25% restocking, poor customer service and felt I had made a terrible mistake. I immediately emailed and left a message cancelling my order. To their credit, they responded in 36 hours. My order was cancelled and credit card credited within 24 hours. I have left feedback about the confusing and concerning shipping charges but wanted to say that my experience in cancelling my order was very timely and no additional charges appeared.

United States | 11 November 2023These guys are really dark. They use shopify, which I also use, so I know how it works. I made an accidental order and contacted them within MINUTES to cancel so I could correctly order something else... they said due to merchant processing fees, 10% charge. Like, in the most loan sharky world no CC company charges 5% both ways. But again, this was just an authorization... nothing in stock, nothing shipped, not even a posted charge yet. I know the Shopify portal, and I know they could reverse without fees, but no... they want to collect $137 in fees instead of provide customer service. Beware. Worst part is some moron authorized the wrong amount, then doubled up by charging the right amount... and lo and behold, a "authorization reversal" is on the account. And they said they couldn't reverse it. Dang, man, no shame. So I have 2 charges and 1 reversal they cannot possibly do. Contacted Shopify and card issuer to report them.

United States | 25 October 2023These guys are unscrupulous. Clicked a link on their website to order Weller 12 Yr Bourbon that was “In Stock”. Ordered 2 bottles and ultimately received run of the mill Weller but not the 12 year!!! This was not an oversight on their part but a scam. After receiving the order, I Reworked my way thru the ordering process capturing screenshots and it is clear these guys are about the Bait and Switch. Buy 12 year!, But once u click their link, the 12 year label disappears. Guess I should be happy I received anything from them based on the reviews I just read! (sarcasm engaged). Stay away from these hacks! Biggest frauds in this industry.

United States | 26 July 2023I received my two items as purchased. They were shipped in inflated bubble bags that I had to pop to get the bottles out. The fed ex shipping label was created the next day but it took exactly 7 days for them to drop the item off for shipping. Then it took 6 full days to get to my house. The return address is a plain old liquor store. Not a warehouse, not a big company. Just a basic store with a really good looking website. I also searched their phone number and it comes up at another liquor store location a couple miles from the one I got my items from. I got my items, so I am happy, but man it took awhile!

United States | 25 June 2023I decided to order a bottle of Hibiki Harmony from Wooden Cork since it was hard to find locally. Some of the reviews on here gave me pause, but I was not disappointed. The bottle was expertly packaged. I was a little put off by the bottle not being in its original box, but it turns out that its box was placed neatly in the bottom of the carton. The bottle was in a surprisingly tough bottle-shaped bubble wrap. There was no way the bottle could be damaged under normal circumstances. I received a notice that my package had been shipped six days after I placed my order. My package arrived the next day. Most of the negative reviews complain about a long delivery time. Based on those reviews, I recommend ordering four weeks ahead if you are purchasing a gift which needs to arrive before a deadline during the holiday season. The bottle arrived with its factory seal intact. The prices are definitely hit-or-miss. I was lucky to find my bottle on sale. Know what you are buying. The shipping is a little expensive. Cheers!

United States | 27 January 2023Based on their website my order was to arrive in 7 days and as it was a gift the arrival date was critical. It didn’t arrive for 3 weeks. I REPEATEDLY emailed and called and never had a response. There was no way to cancel the order or even find out what the status of the order was. Very poor customer service. I will never use them again.

United States | 21 January 2023Placed an order in mid December that was due for delivery before Christmas. A few days later most of the order was canceled due to not having in stock. Website is not updated for availability. Delivery was not received until beginning of January. Package was well wrapped. Terribly overpriced, will not use this business again. Buy local or from trusted, highly rated businesses.

United States | 13 January 2023First time customer and now last time customer. Wooden Cork has a duplicitous, combative, arrogant customer service team - took almost three weeks to get delivery. Called to cancel order on Jan 3 after week of no response - order miraculously shipped two days later on January 5 - arrived a week later (they charged additional amount to insure safe shipping - which look like it was packed by a 1st grader) - Their solution to poor service was a “gift card” in the amount of shipping cost for next order - add to that that WC punishes customers for mistakes their company makes by imposing a 25% restocking fee. Will never buy again - there are too many other companies that have better service, selection, price and shipping capabilities to have put up with this.

I will say that the wooden cork while they did not respond to my 3 emails...they did cancel and refunded my credit card...... So far not impressed... Ordered my sister a bottle of Pear Brandy the kind with the pear in the bottle Ordered a week ago and it has yet to be shipped...I will update as this progresses. They didn't technically misrepresent anything, but order fulfillment up to 5 days is a little disappointing, especially for a website. It would have been faster and cheaper to buy the bottle and wrap/ship it myself. Shipping + gift wrapping cost me as much as the wine. I didn't feel it was worth it for gift giving.

I wrote them an immediate email that was "answered" 5 days later - my order was fulfilled and I could return the product (at my cost) and not get refunded their horribly high and hidden shipping fee of 50$. The product was tasty, the disrespect and thievery NOT. I will never use this disgusting unethical company again.

United States | 04 February 2022I placed an order with this disgusting company on January 21st. The website says that the order would ship in 1-5 business days. Wrong. Almost three weeks later, I still hadn't heard from them. So I contacted them via email, and I obviously upset one of these woke, delicate snowflakes by asking them why they took my money but never shipped my product. I received and email back saying that my order was cancelled. Don't order through these ridiculous lazy thieves. Their customer service sucks and they will not get your product to you.

United States | 06 December 2021Questionable company. Estimated shipping and real shipping varies. It takes 1-5 business days to ship, which is a lot. In their disclaimer it says that they can update any information on the disclaimer anytime as they want. So processing times can change at their will. I wanted to cancel order before it was shipped (no tracking received before the contact) as it took sooo long to process, customer service replied that it was shipped already, which was BS as it was only shipped on 6th per tracking and I contacted on 1st. Order won't make it on time and I won't use this dishonest company again that has lack of communication (they don't sent automatic tracking info and it takes 1 day for customer service to reply). Website is probably made on Shopify (very scatchy platform in my opinion). It's very strange business model if it's a liquor store in San Diego, why not to ship faster, if you have items in stock or you just order it yourselves from a different vendor and than ship it. I have zero tolerance for dropshippers. Do not recommend to anyone, sorry.
