I ordered two settees on a Sunday for £4164.00 and left a deposit of £1250.00 .On the Tuesday my wife rang them and cancelled the order due to her realising that it would not go with the decor of our house .We went to the store to spend the £1250.00 deposit on something else and was told that we could only have a credit for the full £4168.00 and would have to spend at least that amount even though they had not ordered the settees that we chose .The owner told me that it was commission for a member of his staff showing us around the store for an hour. The owner a Mr Lefton was very rude to me on the phone after I asked for the deposit to be returned .If you are buying from Taskers of Accrington be very aware of your transaction and read the small print on the order before signing because Mr Lefton does not mind ripping customers off and does not value any custom he might get

I have bought from them for years and recently had them supply and fit a new laminate floor for my conservatory. Phil took a lot of trouble to do a home visit and his advice was greatly appreciated. Stephen did a wonderful job of laying the floor in difficult circumstances. First class company

Bought a rug during last visit to the store, found it wasn’t suitable for the intended room, so needed to return and refund. After initially been given the wrong advice by their agent who advised they offer a return and collection service for items bought in store for customers who live in the South. This was apparently incorrect! They did however honour and facilitate the return and refund. A courier collected the item and Taskers customer services called me (twice) without me having to chase them for the refund. Everything was arranged swiftly and efficiently. Very impressed and very much appreciated. I will continue to shop at Taskers and certainly recommend their products and services.

United Kingdom | 16 May 2021NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE Ordered sofa October 2020 for pre xmas delivery. Lack of communication but after chasing got it in time. BUT delivery drivers pointed out some damage when they delivered. Left us the sofa and promised exchange as we refused it to be repaired. Then radio silence had to chase and chase and chase. Homeserve came out and took a colour sample, asked why needed sample and it became apparent we were only getting half of the sofa replaced, not overly happy we agreed if the colours matched the Homeserve employee said that could be a problem getting it to match properly. After several weeks we had to chase as radio silence once again. Half the sofa eventually was delivered and you guessed it there was a colour difference! Pictures were taken to show this. Allegedly the factory has rejected our claim. Taskers appear to hide behind the factory and Homeserve. I have explained that my contract is with them but Taskers need to brush up on contract law. Asked for contact number 6 days ago and still waiting. Tried the number shown online but every time engaged uhm I must just be unlucky. Rather go to DFS next time and get some good old fashioned large company customer service.

United Kingdom | 21 April 2021When looking for a sofa my wife and I decided to look at taskers in Accrington. We went to the store and looked around the many displays out of the many sofas for sale we found one sofa that we really liked and within the price range we wanted, for the room we were furnishing. We paid via credit card and were told someone would phone us within 5 working days to arrange delivery. I received a call the following day and the sales lady said there had been a glitch. I enquired what the glitch was and was told that the sofa should not have been sold to us, as it was not available. I asked what taskers would do about not meeting their contractual agreement and the response was, you can come back and order an alternative. I explained that when we had looked around that was the only sofa that met our requirements. I asked for my card to be reimbursed and was told someone from finance would call me back. when I hung up and reflected on the situation I decided to scrutinise my receipt which had lots of stressing that we were in a contact that was binding and could not be broken without written agreement of both parties, including the threat of litigation. I decided it was not good enough to just offer my money back (I had also been told that the same sofa could be supplied, but would not be clearance so not at the agreed price) I phoned Taskers and asked to speak to whoever was in charge, I was put through to Ivor who is the Managing Director. Ivor explained there was nothing else to be done, although when I said I didn't feel this was adequate response, he did say we could have a discount on any other sofa. I explained that the one we had a 'firm and legally binding contract' according to the receipt, was the only one we actually liked. I repeatedly asked did Ivor feel this response was adequate, especially in light of the wording on the receipt and contract law etc. I also reiterated that we had been told that another identical sofa could be supplied but not for the contracted price. Ivor asked me more than once did I think this was fair on the young sales person who sold it in the same good faith we bought it in. I pointed out that I did not hold her to blame as it was not her mistake, to have the sofa on display and for the price we agreed. This has been a thoroughly bad experience as a customer.

Purchased a sofa on 01.11.20, was told it would be end of jan when I received it, then I noticed on the receipt it said end of Feb, so I asked to cancel it, so the rude assistant was not happy when I asked to cancel the transaction, she said she would speak to ivor on the phone and he said ok it will be end of Jan. So come end of Jan I call to see when its being delivered and they said no its end of Feb, I wasn't happy. The staff are so rude (except for Carole, she was very helpful) and think they are above the customers, very snobbish, anyway each time I have called they never ever return a call and then when my husband called they said it could be March now. I can understand if they called and said we are having problems because of covid, but nothing, very very rude and still heard nothing. So I will be telling my friends and anyone I speak to not to purchase from Taskers, unless you want to be running round in circles and never hear from them, as they cant be bothered to return any calls. Sort it Taskers, cos I am unhappy.

Ordered a sofa last year in November told Jan 22nd delivery date, and it was delivered today the 19th of Jan. Delivery guys were the best i've ever had to deal with for any large items. Due to the pandemic the delivery guys were told they can not enter the house and setup, which was understandable. I gave Taskers of Acrington a call to make sure I am assembling my swivel chair properly, I forgot the chaps name (sorry) but I got a call back and answer in 5 minutes. Very happy with the quality of everything, much better than what you would get from mainstream sofa retailers and the slight increase is price is worth it as the quality increase is absolutely significant. I also got a free throwover which was very nice and much appreciated. Fama mynest swivel chair and fama power recliner is what I ordered.

United Kingdom | 17 December 2020Visited this shop today looking for bedroom furniture, table lamps and centre piece for table. Male assistant in the bedroom department was completely disinterested, totally absorbed on his mobile phone. As I walked through the department towards him looking at the different displays of furniture, he walked away down the shop. I walked back towards him and asked about stock availability on a bedside table to be told it was discontinued and that was the last one. He then walked past me and through the doors at the end of the showroom. Obviously I will not bother returning here, may as well shop online if shopping local means so little that the staff can't be bothered to even ask if I needed any help. There was myself and two other customers in at the time I visited but still to busy to ask if I wanted any help.

United Kingdom | 27 October 2020Spent a LOT of money on bespoke bedroom wardrobes and side cabinets. 18 months on and a side cabinet was peeling on top. I contacted Taskers as the furniture was sold with 5 year guarantee. I was accused of causing the damage myself, fobbed off and told that either way it couldn’t be repaired as they had discontinued the range. I persisted and after a phone call with the MD who was also very patronising, Taskers insisted on an independent report being carried out to determine the cause (initially they had the nerve to suggest I pay for it!!!!!) . The report came back as a manufacturing fault, so they had no choice but to replace the top. All of a sudden the factory WAS able to make this. They have fixed it now but the stress to get there and poor customer service was unbelievable. Had I not persisted, I would have been left with faulty goods. Furniture sold as high quality with the price tag to match but it really isn’t all that. I will never shop there again. AVOID and safe yourself the hassle. It has taken me months to sort.
