After a number of years completing our US tax returns as Expatriates on our own we decided to use Greenback Tax Services. It had been increasingly difficult to keep up with new regulations (FATCA, Social security taxation, IRA transfer transaction, tax reciprocity etc etc). The software we had used in the US could not cope with US-UK reciprocity treaty rules (let alone UK postcodes instead of zip codes!). So we went with Greenback. We have been delighted - we had a CPA qualified accountant who was pleasant, tolerant, knowledgeable about expatriate rules and effective (initials TVZ). Although we still, of course had to gather documents the process was made so much easier. The efficiency of the process essentially removed hours spent trying to understand complex rules. Their fees seemed very reasonable for this. I strongly recommend them if your situation resembles ours!
