The allocated appointment time was 50 min, however my dog was ready in less than 30 min. I advised the groomer that my dog wasn’t keen on the dryer and she told me they would use a ‘slow dryer’ on him, but when I picked him up - he was still very wet! He is English bulldog, so it was required that he’s wrinkles would need to be cleaned and balm applied. The groomer just used a wipe to clean some of wrinkles and no balm was used. I paid for his nails to be trimmed but was told they didn’t need doing. He was not brushed either. While he was being washed, all that was used was an ordinary body puff thingy with a jug of soapy water?! I have tried to contact the groomer to discuss these issues but no return call has been made.

Excellent service from when I first rang up, rang me back with a cancellation the same day to drop off and collect. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable with some great advice for my dogs breed. Would highly recommend, I was very impressed.

Took my dog this weekend for a full groom which she said it would take up to 45 mins we went off shopping and not kidding you within 25 mins he was done I find that a bit quick for a £40 groom and tbh he didn’t look as good as the other times we took him still got long hair between his toe nails cut too short I’m surprised they didn’t bleed and he didn’t really smell that fresh it was the quickest wash and blow dry ever think as it was the last one of the day they wanted to get off home won’t go there again

These girls are so caring. They really have a passion for what they do. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Avoid at all costs!!! Took my short haired dachshund on for a full groom today. My husband collected her and brought her home for me to find they had butchered her nails and she still had gunk in her eyes and didn't smell as if she had been washed at all. I took her back in and spoke to the manager I showed him her eyes he said she probably got that in the time she had been brought back home. Then with the nails he just kept saying I'm not a groomer so I don't know when I asked why someone who knows nothing about grooming would be a manager he proceeded to tell me that the manager of an airport is not a pilot!!! He was rude and just kept almost smirking. Also I questioned why my husband had been charged £35 when I had already paid £15 deposit making it a £50 groom so a short haired small breed he told me we just keep the deposit for other potential grooms. Then said he would be happy to refund you the deposit which he did. Looking online there was no banked money so that was a lie they had just stolen my money and did such a shody job. The manager called Damien refused to show me any qualifications paperwork from this young girls grooming so there is high chance they are not qualified at all. Avoid Avoid Avoid

Exciting day for Our little boys first Groom! Think I was more nervous about it, than my childrens first hair cuts! I needn’t have worried, I was told he was a good boy. But I’m sure that was all down to his Groomer, being so kind & gentle & keeping him calm. I would highly recommend the ‘Groom Room’ in Colchester’s Pets at home to any one. He looked so lovely & fluffy in his little bandana. Looking forward to his next visit in 4 wks, then will continue 6wkly! Thank you Nicola for being so kind & gentle with our little boy Bruno!

The Pets at Home Groom Room colleagues were fantastic, as usual. They are very professional and always listen to what you require for your doggies grooming. They’re always really happy to help with any questions you may have. The manager there on my visit this week, also dealt with a query/ question I had re a Groom Room voucher and sorted all this for me very quickly, there and then. Anxious 3 year old cocker. did a really good cut and removed all the tangles. he seemed less stressed this time during the cut and was happily wagging his tail. another step forward for him. pleased with the experience and result
