United Kingdom | 08 December 2021On check in we were informed no reservation had been made by Hotel Direct ! Very embarrassing and worrying on a Sunday evening .The Hotel manager sorted a room as no contact could be made with Hotel Direct . Not a good experience .

Unfortunately they have booked us a return train that does not exist, so we're currently stranded in London trying to find an alternative way to get home. No notification from hoteldirect. Would never use them again, it has ruined our break.

United Kingdom | 21 November 2021This is my fifth theatre break with HD & in fairness the other four were 5 star but on this occasion I felt let down. When selecting your seats for a show the website advises if you have a restricted view but no mention or warning was given that the seats in the Gallery area of the Haymarket Theatre were in fact not seats but fixed benches that resembled padded bus stop seats! These were really uncomfortable & detracted from a great show. If patrons were forewarned I would have opted for better seats albeit at a supplemented cost. As patrons we are informed on the HD website that a theatre has undergone a major upgrade but not advised if a theatre is in need of an upgrade. The whole theatre is tired & worn with grubby toilets, threadbare carpets & grubby communal areas. If I’m honest & had been given the full information I probably would have still booked but opted for better seats as the show was brilliant but I felt let down & dissatisfied on this occasion.

United Kingdom | 17 November 2021They have replied saying I brought the cheapest seats. I brought a package the seats had no price. Also they say they showed the seats had restricted views yes it did bur not the 90% as is clearly stated on the theatre website. That I didn't look at until I received my confirmation THEN tells you the seats are 90% restricted. They have every opportunity to tell you this before booking but choose to do this after you brought? I do have the offer to pay another £180 . So the package will now be nearly £500 no thanks Cannot believe I have brought a package for hotel & theater, the seats say restricted view. Which is not uncommon & usually minor. It was only after i booked they then tell you the view is 90% restricted . I had an offer of changing seats for an extra £180. I asked to change to the following day where there where seats that had a restricted view but not the 90%. Say they cant do that. Will NEVER use this company again. This is an Christmas present for my husband, what a joke going to see a show that he won't be-able to see. Also on the theatre website it clearly states these seats have an 90% restricted view. So Hotel Direct are aware of this. Will let you book then give you the bad news after they have taken your money.

The package included a luxury hotel and rail travel with reserved seats and was good value and offered peace of mind as we had a human contact if needed.

We thought we would fit an extra show in and noticed that Hotel Direct had a deal on where there was an overnight stay in a conveniently situated hotel with theatre tickets included. We took a punt and booked with them and shortly after the hotel reservation arrived by email followed by the theatre tickets. The whole experience was so easy and convenient. We arrived at the hotel and everything went like clockwork. The hotel was as stated very conveniently located for the theatre. We had upgraded the seats from the basic ones that were provided with the deal for a small extra fee and were very pleased with them. Next time we come to London to see another show or two we will be doing it the easy way and travel by train and book a theatre break through Hotel Direct!
