I bought the Decor Pro 99 last November and all of a sudden its just stopped working tried to get the guarantee but the link sent with the receipt takes me to an unknown website with nothing on it. then I find out the company has goner bust and tried to contact the number that's provided and several after that but no luck as all disconnected?! 01442508822 does not work and your website hobbeysew.co.uk doesn't even exist anymore? Emails keep bouncing back? My machine needs repairs or completely refunded and got no one to contact with regards to it. Poor customer service all around when i've been reading up on reviews. wish i'd never bothered! Hobbeysew please contact me so I can send back the machine you sold as it has defects!

I ordered a Necchi Sofia 300 in March 2016 online with Hobbysew/Hobbystitch. I don't normally order online and now wish I hadn't. I received the machine which cost £325, it looked brand new and all seemed in order although I didn't try the machine at the time. As I had other commitments at the time I kept it in the original box until I was ready to embark on my sewing projects. In August I got the machine out of the box to use- guess what- it didn't work- totally dead- needle didn't move once. Obviously I checked power, fuse etc but it was still dead. I phoned the company ( or what I thought was the company with the number on the paperwork) and after holding for sometime and having to ring back several times ( at my expense) it was organised the machine would be picked up a week later after I had returned a 'repair form' and as long as I had the original packaging -great- so I thought. I had to wait in all day although apparently I was supposed to have been given a one hour slot-it was collected at 4.15pm. Although it had been an inconvenience I was happy that the company were honouring the repair. THREE weeks later I had heard nothing. I phoned to enquire when I was likely to get my machine back. I was very calm when I spoke the man who answered and gave him my order number. He then told me in a flippant manner " oh yes this is the company that went bust"!! I was a bit shocked and said that during my previous conversations while organising the repair I had not been informed of this. " Well I'm telling you now!" He said very nastily. I asked when it went bust- I was told 1st April 2016. I asked what I should do next ( I didn't raise my voice or swear, I was genuinely concerned). I was flabbergasted when he said he did not wish to speak to me anymore and tried suggesting I was being unreasonable!!!! I hadn't said more than two sentences to him at this point and was none the wiser as to where my machine was. I asked to speak to someone else but he said they were on the phone, I said I would wait but he said "well I don't want you to wait, goodbye" and put the phone down on me!! I am appalled and disgusted at the way I was spoken to without any cause. I feel that he wanted to intimidate me and thought he could get rid of me by being nasty and keep my machine/money. I am now suspecting that this company is a con as there is no way I would have been treated to such disgusting customer service by a reputable company. Do not use this company! I am currently taking legal advice.

I bought two machines in August last year. One for me and one for my daughter. I didn't use mine until April when it promptly stopped working. They then discovered I had not been offered the warranty to cover the postage costs. So stupidly I bought it. I was then messed around for another two months and eventually sent it back to them at my own expense. A month later and I have heard nothing from them nor received the machine back or received any refund. Don't use them.

First machine returned and a more expensive machine bought - what a mistake that was. Cost a fortune and it isn't working properly, contacted the company and was sent a form and told to email about sending the machine back. Many unanswered emails later I phoned the company. Now the machine is going back for them to deal with the problem - I put money on being told that the problem is down to me even though I have had sewing machines for decades and know how to use them! Never mind, as if I had any choice. If there is a happy outcome for me I will remove this or regrade it but so far the service has been shoddy. I wish I had bought my machine here from a local shop, it would have cost the same! I was swayed by the special offers of guarantee and service. How I wish I had been more far sighted.

I had been looking for a new sewing machine for some time as my old singer machine was getting rather ancient. The WI I belong to recently ordered 3 Necchi Alicia machines which I was able to try out.I was so impressed that I ordered one from you.The special deal included a set of scissors and a box of coloured threads. The delivery was quick and I have been using it ever since. If I had one criticism it would be the self threading device gets some getting used to, otherwise I am delighted with the product. I am sure I shall enjoy using it for many years.

My sewing machine was delivered within 2 days of me ordering it. The extras which came with the machine which was a 6 piece quilting kit and an extension table took another 3 weeks to arrive, and they wouldnt have arrived at all if I hadnt chased them. I was told the warehouse had failed to send them out, and I was promised delivery within 2 days, a week later I was still waiting I rang the sales line and was told the extras werent even on my order, so I was never going to receive them, the lady on the sales line, upgraded the quilting kit to a 16 piece which was good of her and promised delivery within 2 days but i wouldn't receive the extension table until april, which I wasnt pleased about, the lady emailed me to say she had found an extension table for me which was very good of her. I received the two items the next day, I love the quilting kit but the extension table does not fit the machine I couldnt go through all the trouble of trying to exchange the table, too much stress. My machine is a Necchi Rosso MK2, the machine is very good. Catherine Sheppard

This machine is great for small projects and easy to carry for workshops. I use it for free motion embroidery, as the feed dogs can be dropped. The free motion/ darning foot not included in package but generic foot can be ordered(Amazon). I enjoy working with this machine as it is straight forward to set up.

I purchased this on an offer from HobbySew as the price was brilliant compared with other sites. The machine itself is much better than expected, well built with easy to follow instructions and a quiet operation compared to others. Good all rounder especially for home, complete with lots of computer designs, I cannot fault it. Delivery was also extremely quick. A pleasure to do business with this company. Helen. Swindon.

Customer services helpfully answered all my initial questions about a particular sewing machine. Once ordered, my machine arrived within a couple of days so was pleased about this. The free gift took a little longer. Would definitely use HobbeySew again.

Bought Aeg 105 sewing machine during Christmas, as a beginner was looking forward to learn sewing, phoned up to order was told the machine was so popular that it was the last one left, happily bought machine. Once arrived problems started right away machine was constantly jamming and looked like a faulty one after a couple of emails to customer service returned it and was assured that I would get refunded, after having sent it back there was no contact from hobby sew customer service ever again no confirmation to say if they ever received it, did not hear a word again, had to keep up chasing, many times could not get through, so had to rely on emailing, very slow response, got through to customer services and was asked if it was sent tracked, though they should know this already, I had to prove again and again that it was tracked, found this very strange, they finally found me and told me the machine was in a queue. They have had it since January am still waiting for the refund of my Aeg, last time I heard it was still in a queue and I had to keep chasing it up, still not heard since last contact they have had it now just over two months, this is not acceptable at all,not professional and reliable service from Hobbysew, they are not interested in refunding you should you have a problem with sewing machines, all sewing projects put on stop since then, worst experience ever.

I ordered a Toyota Oekaki Renaissance and due to family bereavement i could not get to check it until the 14 day return period was almost up. When i did i realised it had a number of issues and sent it back as faulty. After a number of weeks hearing nothing and in dire need of a machine i contacted Jason Fields, Hobbysew director who rang me at home on a Friday evening to resolve the issue. As i had returned the machine as faulty it had gone back to Toyota with no sign of when it would be back (not Hobbysew's fault) so we agreed i should choose another machine. I chose the Janome DKS 100. It arrived within days and has exceeded my expectations. Great little thing for the price-can get excellent stitch quality on it. If the future of buying higher priced items is going to be online, only the companies who provide the best customer service will succeed. Although i had a little difficulty with contact initially, it was easily remedied and i have a machine on the table working well. I am happy with the service i received from Hobbysew and will use them when i want another machine.

The staff I spoke to were very knowledgeable and the blog excellent, all my questions answered fully. The extra insurance available for this machine was a must. Delivery fast and well packed. I would recommend this site to all my friends and fellow crafters.

I have no complaints about the treatment I have received from Hobby Sew. There was some issue with the machine purchased and I still find it a little temperamental times . This I can manage as it is so versatile and easy to use. Perhaps as it is computerised it has a bit of a mind of its own! The Managing Director, Jason Fields, went out of his way to help me and is still enquiring that all is now well. He assures me that I must get in touch at any time if I need help and any problem will be dealt with. No more can be asked for. I therefore feel confident about my purchase and would recommend this company. Jean Hewat

New to quilting I was being put off by another make which was far less user friendly. I was pointed in the direction of this quilting specific machine by a very patient gentleman and it is a joy. The delivery was quick and it fits into my sewing table as promised. It tells me how not to get into trouble and how to get out of it if I do. The stitches are smooth and even, made easy with auto tension and every 'gadget' is of practical use. I have never used so many stitches and feet! Great fun, giving a great finish.
