Now I have used this Necchi Sophia 300 I am even more pleased with it. This machine has all the features I wanted and more, the range of stitches is remarkable and I have not used hardly any of the 304 present but the ones I have used were easy and precise. The needle down and knotting stitch are really appreciated as is the slow stich button which means you can do 1 stich at a time for precise corners and joins. I can thoroughly recommend this machine and the Hobbysew company to anybody as I am completely satisfied. Trevor Hughes.

My bad experience started with this company when I ordered my sewing machine in Oct 2015. At which time they stated that as it was a special deal I would receive my machine in November. As I was unsure what date in November it would be delivered I phoned them the second week in November. At this time I was told that it would be sent out week commencing 16th Nov and I waited in every day for this delivery, by the end of that week the sewing machine had not arrived. I rang them again and was told by the company that they would check with the Warehouse and they advised me that it would be with me AM delivery for the next day, again I waited in and no delivery arrived. I phoned the company again in the afternoon to enquire what had happened to my delivery, I was then advised that the delivery wouldn't be going out till the following day. I then mentioned that I had put a review on about my experience, after which I was then passed over to the managing director who apologised and offered me incentives and asked me to remove my review as it was detrimental to the company, which I did. Again the machine never arrived the day after, I phoned again to find out why the machine had not been delivered I was told by the managing director they would check with the Warehouse. I waited for a few hours and as I had not received the call back they promised me I phoned and cancelled my order. I have since received my money back, however I have read other reviews and it seems that other people have had the same experience as me. I will in future do more research on companies before I place an order. It was a shame my review was reported to TrustPilot and I had to send proof of my order to get this reinstated otherwise it would be taken off after 6 days. TrustPilot reinstated this without any amendments It's great to have good feedback, but unfortunately sometimes things go wrong. 21st December 2015 my husband received and signed for a parcel from Parcel Force and I realised on checking that HobbySew had sent the machine which was supposed to be cancelled by Hobbysew as I cancelled the order in November after being messed about. I emailed HobbySew but noticed today that the email was undelivered. I called and spoke to HobbySew on 22nd Dec 2015 at 4pm and arranged with them for DPD to pick up the sewing machine on the 23rd December 2015, which I will ask for a receipt of proof of returning. Hopefully this will be the end of it.

I purchased a particular model of sewing machine. Upon receiving the machine I realised that I had choosen the wrong one. I called HobbySew. I explained the situation. I took their advice and upgraded. There was no problem. The first sewing machine was collected by courier with 48hrs and the new sewing machine the next day. This would have been sooner but as I do not live on the mainland there is often a 24hr delivery delay. Staff were very helpful and understanding. Everything went smoothly. HIghly recommend.

I was looking for an embroidery machine. The website had an XL400 and an XL550 (both Singer machines) that I was interested in. I tried the chat and phone helplines and specifically asked about software and differences between the machines over several different conversation over several days. I was told that both had identical software and that additional software could be purchased. This is not actually true and if given the correct information I would have purchased the more expensive machine as it includes ALL the additional software that I am now in the process of buying separately (Autopunch, hyperfont, editing). I will end up paying more for the Xl400 than the XL550 once I have all the software and the XL400 has less functions. If their sales advice was better I would have made a different choice. On the good side, once ordered the machine arrived very promptly and when it didn't work properly a collection and replacement was arranged very quickly. The new machine works well.

I purchased a Singer 14HD854 on the 13th October 2015. To cut a long story short after delayed delivery, a second hand machine subsequently being delivered and a lack of communication from HobbySew and its directors, I finally had the second hand machine replaced along with approx. £10 worth of random stuff as compensation delivered days later in a plain envelope and nothing inside to say where it had come from !!! Not a good start to dealing with a new company. However as I was requested to leave my review with Trust Pilot I did, I let a bad review highlighting all of the problems I had to deal with. I was immediately rung by one of the directors to say he would like me to remove my bad review from Trust Pilot which I did after I was told I would be given Platinum Service in the future which included direct phone numbers to 2 x directors etc. I also negotiated a refund of £45.66 compensation for the disappointment and all of the messing about to exchange the incorrectly delivered machine. The following day I emailed HobbySew for the phone numbers for my Platinum Service that was on the 5th November to date I have no communication since and still no priority phone numbers. I did say in my email if I didn't get the information I had been promised I would re-instate my review ! Happily I did get my refund ! We have since had a failure with the plastic catch on the Cloth Plate reported on 18th November. I had to chase this on the Livechat and was told the Director had passed my email onto the service department however I still no acknowledgement, no communication, no after service what-so ever ! Pretty good for Platinum Service !? Update 26/11/2015: The replacement Cloth Plate arrived today, however there has been zero communication regarding this from HobbySew !! The item arrived with no delivery paperwork ! Reply to HobbySew response: Nobody tried to contact me last week either by email or phone ! I have had no communication from you since I placed the support request on the 18th November. Yes I have 2 messages on my answerphone from your Chairman one yesterday after I re-posted my review and another today after I edited my review ! The would appear the only reason the replacement cloth plate was dispatched yesterday by next day delivery was because I re-posted my bad review yesterday ! I wonder how long it would have taken if I hadn't ? Fine if you want to continue this banter in public ! Your alleged email was never seen on my mail server and is not in the spam folder. Please attach your alleged sent email and email it to me I'll have it checked by my service provider.

I've bought a sewing machine for my daughter for an xmas pressie so can't rate the machine at this time. It looks good and there were lots of extra bits included so very pleased. Item was well packed. The overall service from ordering from Hobbysew has been fantastic. Delivery was all done in a matter of days. Will certainly be recommending this site to people in the future and will use them again.

the only down side to buying from this site is that you need to know what you are buying before you order. I found on line expert not very helpful, so I researched it myself and the only reason I did not purchase it from the shop was because I was on public transport and for the same price though this site I could get it delivered. service was quick and it came Tue after ordering it late sat afternoon.

My only concern was that I was not advised of the dispatch. I could make no arrangements for receipt of the parcel. As it turned out a neighbour received the parcel.
