New Zealand | 26 June 2021Exceptional service Recently at Harvey Norman, Hornby I had the pleasure of being served by Logan Carter when I went to purchase a new oven. He listened to me and talked to me about my options. He then hand wrote out the specifications of 3 different brands which was very useful for me to make my decision on the type of double oven I wanted to buy. He kept me informed of my order and when the products arrived it was not a problem to hold them until I needed them. I definitely recommend dealing with Logan at Hornby. Nothing was a problem to him. She went above and beyond to help us buy items for our new house. I was a bit worried about how long we would have to go without a washing machine/fridge etc when we moved home from overseas, but she organised delivery for the day that we needed so the process was stress free for us.

New Zealand | 11 June 2021Make sure you do all the research yourself because in my experience with Harvey Norman, Mt Roskill branch there is no 'assistance' other than to buy whatever will benefit them. When I phoned about a printer and said I wanted something simple to set up I was told he would show me but once I was in the shop the offer was off. Another so called 'assistant' took me to the most sophisticated and expensive printers after my explaining I wanted something simple and inexpensive. He didn't seem to know about the one I had done the research on until I noticed there myself and showed it to him. Only then did he agree that that would be suitable. Just not good enough.

New Zealand | 30 May 2021Unbelievably poor and rude service from the staff at Paraparaumu branch. Went to return an item that didn't perform as expected and was subjected to the 3rd degree as if the item was faulty and this had been caused by me. Salesperson not focussed on me as the customer, but trying to serve multiple people simultaneously. Was in the Palmerston North branch yesterday and the service there was superb. Complete opposite of the Paraparaumu branch.

New Zealand | 30 May 2021Selected a mobile phone that I liked from this store,sales person went to get my phone,came back with it and then started asking me stupid questions,twice asked me if I'd ever used a smart phone before,asked me if I as on a plan already if I wanted a screen cover,if I had virus protection,to all I said,I didn't want any of it..........by this stage,I was passed off,just wanted my phone and to get out of there,my partner who was with me said she felt like just walking out.Anyway went to the checkout to pay for it and this sales person tried the hard sell again, he offered me cover for $50,for battery warranty,this place sucks,to in your face with the hard sell,I'd never ho back there again, nor would I recommend, Thumbs down Harvey Norman Northwood

The manager listened to our concerns, sent an electrician with a new stovetop within two days. Fantastic service we wouldn't use anyone else.

Then prices on the products in my order increased and they would not honour the old prices in my original order. My dealings were with Amelia Ironui at Head Office. Avoid Harvey Norman at ALL costs!

New Zealand | 18 April 2021Don't buy the Monte Carlo lounge suite - it is made of cheap board that collapsed and broke after 6 months when I pushed the couch in order to vacuum underneath. Manufacturer with the support of Harvey Normans states it my fault because I did not use two people to move the couch.

New Zealand | 10 April 2021Went to buy a Nespresso coffee machine as a gift. Asked for an exchange card. Got told that they will only exchange if the packaging is not opened and product must be returned within 24 hours. Really?!!!! How does one judge a product without looking at it? The Nespresso man was wonderful but the HN man was useless. Another sales person came along and backed the colleague. Getting an exchange card should not be a issue. Off to any other store - bet they are all happy to give an exchange card!

New Zealand | 10 April 2021Purchased a speaker online paid sale price for click and collect using my debit card was excited when I got the email extremely quick to pick it up, however it was not the size I thought it was so I asked for my money back. The girl that served me seemed extremely confident I would receive my refund in a "couple of days" through the online process. Having checked my bank after a "couple of days" I'd received nothing, a little worried something went wrong I rung the store after telling 3 different people my issue before landing with the correct department I needed to speak to I was frustrated by now. I got told again by a staff member oh it usually takes a "couple of days" for the money to get refunded! I told her I'd already been told that a "couple of days' before!! She assured me well it most definitely should be there by tomorrow, tomorrow is here and still nothing I'm waiting for them to open cos I'm fed up with this, how does it take them 5 seconds to take your money yet such a stressful annoying time consuming long wait to get your money back! This store by far in my 43years of life has been the worst at refunds, with all the latest technology I would expect a faster refund system for online.

I rang up a this morning and spoke to a person I think his name was Nick from Ratanui street, he asked me to google my problem because they stop selling Sharp tvs and mine is a Sharp tv. New Zealand | 27 March 2021After many years of buying white ware, electronics, computers, and photo, I got caught with so much rubbish furniture from them that I will not enter this shop again in future. In general their selling method is trying to overcharge heavily, and then let you have a deal at a much lower price. They also try to push you into extended warranty contracts, that are useless considering our consumer protection law.

New Zealand | 18 February 2021Worse shop to spend your money.went in to buy a laptop for my daughter.got told the one I was looking at was cheap s-it that's right cheap s_it.to slow don't bring it back when you have problems with it what do you recommend I asked I was shown a 4000 dollar laptop.not having that much money and not being happy with the customer service I went from moorhouse to belfast.exactly the same slow s-it.i decided to take it and it has been the best wee laptop not slow at all.harvey normal staff all need retraining that any sale at any price is a sale not the stinking attitude they have you don't buy what we want you aren't important to us.will never go spend my money in there stores again.highly unprofessional

But they wont tell you this you have to waste your own time chasing them and your refund. 3 weeks and 4 calls later they are finally processing a refund

Got the leg fixed eight away but I’m here 4 months later with still a rip in the back . Customer service are useless and can’t organise anything . Never again will I buy from here.

New Zealand | 09 January 2021I purchased a bed at the store. Paid $5000 for a top end mattress. There wasn’t a display model of the one I wanted to try. I was also told to give it time to adjust to. Other stores have a 100 nights to trial. I bought it three months ago. It was fine during the colder months but now it has lost all support and it has messed up my back. I tried to call the store for help. First I was told that if I paid an additional $1600 that they would take it back and give me a firmer one. Then I was told there was no solution and I was just out of luck. This is an investment in my life. I’m now stuck with a mattress that is painful and that I am still paying off. Don’t go to Harvey Norman. They don’t care about the customers, they only care about sales. Update: After trying to explore every option presented. I’ve been permitted to return the bed, at a $1600 loss. The mattress was in my house for three months. I had a waterproof cover on it the entire time. I was offered to keep paying Harvey Norman by getting another mattress from them at a discount. It is completely ridiculous that I would purchase something else from them when their salesperson forgot to mention policy changes and was inherently dishonest and I’m being made to pay for it. I cannot recommend against Harvey Norman enough.

New Zealand | 14 December 2020I purchased a bed, a mattress protector and 2 sheet sets on line, just over 2 weeks ago. I received a call from Stephanie who works in the bedroom department who said there were no beds available until January so I was ready to cancel the order. Because I needed it before Christmas. So Stephanie went above and beyond and searched other stores, found one in Auckland, had it delivered to the store within a week and delivered to my door the next week. I rang to thank her and asked about the sheets. After searching, This part of the order had been sent to Whakatane so she requested they send them right away and 4 days later they arrived. Her customer service is impeccable and she is certainly an asset to Harvey Norman. Thanks Stephanie. You will go a long way with the positive attitude you have.
