I like the visuals and ease of use. It seems crowd funding works well if you have a lot of followers. As a small startup, it would have been helpful to have more ad support from DAG.

Easy to use, easy to withdraw cash!

Setting up the different pages was pretty easy and we like the overall look and feel of the site. However, we did have a couple of issues. There was a bug in getting photos and videos to appear correctly. And there were many fraudulent charges coming through to our account. Both issues were fixed but I feel like there was not a quick way to access a help desk. When something went wrong I had to send an email and wait almost 24 hours for the issue to be resolved. Luckily the issues were not time sensitive.

I decided to go with Deposit a Gift for my nonprofit agency's first-ever crowdfunding campaign. I really appreciated all the tips and information I got from Dana at no extra cost. The website set-up was okay, I wish that there were more customization options that were more business-like and color-appropriate for the Giving Tuesday campaign. I also struggled with communicating about the page in social media posts and emails to our donor base. The image that posts to facebook when the page is shared is not very impactful, and I wish that there were a countdown timer or a live-update thermometer that I could easily post to facebook or send out. I had to create my own or take a screenshot. I also would have liked to be able to set the time/date of offline donations entered. When it came time to cash out, there was a special deal that we got for donations received on Giving Tuesday, which was awesome to have as a perk but created some trouble for our bookkeeper to keep track of the fees and donation amounts for each individual when linking them up in Quickbooks. Some of the features I really appreciated were the anonymity choices and ability to share a message with a donation. Overall I can see where Deposit a Gift really shines, but I think that to work with a nonprofit organization that is also receiving and recording donations through other channels, some more integrations and/or features should be updated and added. What I valued most from Deposit a Gift was their support: a real person responding in a timely fashion with actionable responses. As a first-time crowdfunder this was huge to me. I would like to see them build their consumer database so we can also use them to reach audience versus relying on our own limited circle. This said, we raised $31,800 (which included offline donations) and originally started with a goal of $20,000. Pretty darn good!

Deposit a Gift made our honeymoon wonderful!!!

Very simple and creative options for a wedding/honeymoon registry. I liked the options for travel gifts that felt more special than just asking for money. The templates made it simple and cashing out was easy.

The team who assists with reviewing the setup process was great at providing me with suggestions and great at proofreading what I had written. They were also very quick to reply!
