United States | 16 January 2015i purchased an engine for my 2000 Saab 9-5 with a v6 from ETW and then saw all the bad reports all over the internet. i was very concerned because i made another mistake besides my lack of research on the company, i gave the wrong "ship to" address. i immediately sent an email with the new address and it was updated and confirmed that day. first problem, not a problem... then i began the waiting period for the engine to be delivered. i was somewhat concerned because i had read about people's horror stories about getting their order. however, i did get the email updates showing the expected delivery date. what made me concerned again, was that i never received tracking information for the shipment. however, the engine was delivered exactly the date that it was expected. the engine clearly had been tested, cleaned and painted(although the paint job was poor). the long block arrived complete, wrapped and on a pallet. it still had many parts that were not really part of the long block, but that were valuable and helped with the installation. all in all, i'm pleased. the engine was shipped as promised and had good compression and no issues. it is running quite well. it's important to install new timing belts, seals and thermostat for the warranty, but these are things that should be done anyway. it's a good thing to have such a long warranty.

Mexico | 16 January 2015I had purchased an engine for an Lr3 Land Rover engine. I had set up delivery and install to an official land rover service dept at Northtown Landrover in Williamsville ny. Upon delivery the dealership service agent contacted me and stated that the engine they had sent me was a Range Rover engine, not a land rover lr3 engine, and was not compatible with my vehicle. I tried persistently to get in touch with someone at Transmission world and was placed on hold multiple times for 45 min or more before being transferred unsuccessfully/ leaving messages on managers and warranty dept voicemail. When I finally did get through to someone, they tried to convince me that the engine I had recieved ( Range Rover) was compatible with the Land Rover Lr3 and that I was to use that engine. End of story. I had the technician from the dealership call multiple times, draft a letter, and an email clearly stating that there was no way that the engine was compatible. That is not even the most of my concern, they did not ship me what I had clearly agreed to purchase online. The total sum of the transaction was $5600. So I pursued my case to get a replacement, the actual engine I had agreed to purchase, and recieved it 2 weeks later. So far I have had the engine in for 2 months and everything seems to be working fine, but I hope I do not have problems in the future because dealing with the people at this company was ultimately the worst service I have had in my life. Unresponsive, unprofessional, and a complete hassle to deal with. I highly discourage anyone to use this site. There are many options to use for used parts out there.

United States | 15 January 2015The engine works great and runs great. Shipped clean with plugs in it to protect from damage. Only thing I can say is it seemed to take a while to ship to my location. I guess when the item is big and heavy you just have be patient. I'm very happy!

United States | 03 November 2014Had missing parts on throttle body, had to pay extra to someone to get the "completely stripped bolt" off the rear of the engine so i could put my flywheel on. Had wrong map sensor in it, so I Had to replace that as well. And it leaks oil pretty bad from main seal, which in turn, i expected.. also the distributer for my car is the camshaft sensor and that was no good as well as the crankshaft sensor... just too much money for all the problems i had to fix

United States | 29 October 2014Dealing with E & T World was a very pleasant process. The ad for the motor I bought said they would take all reasonable offers and while I didn't save a lot of money, I appreciated the fact I did get the motor for slightly less. Post sale, pre-shipping, and post-shipping communication via emails was very professional and timely. The motor arrived within the delivery window that was stated to me. The motor was listed to come with "everything" less, starter, alternator, A/C, and turbo (if equipped). My mechanic said my motor didn't come with valve cover gaskets or exhaust manifolds which appeared to be misleading as I had to pay parts and labor for the manifolds and gaskets. Maybe manifolds don't ship on used motor, however, I never read that anywhere. My mechanic never charged me parts or labor for the valve covers (except gaskets) so I don't know exactly what happened with these, yet, I decided to not pursue the missing parts with E & T World. The motor appears to be working great. Hopefully, it will last a long time.

United States | 29 October 2014First I should have read the fine print to find that unless I basically replaced all the seals and the timing belt the warranty is void. This would kind of bring the price up to a reman engine. The engine was low miles but the pan gasket leaked which the installer didn't notice because the engine had been cleaned so an extra $461. Looking back I should have had them do it but now it's spilled milk, or oil. The car is running well now but I don't have the warranty I expected. Also the shipping was pretty slow. It used all of the 14 business days at least and wasn't shipped for over a week after I ordered it. I realize it's a used engine. I would rate it a neutral transaction.

United States | 29 August 2014We received the motor. Our mechanic put the motor in without difficulty. Two days after my daughter drives the truck it starts leaking oil. Took it back to our mechanic and he had to replace the oil pan gasket. I do not feel the motor was properly tested or monitored when it was being tested. It cost me an additional $75 for a oil pan gasket that I should have had to purchase.
