United States | 27 December 2024I would give knetbooks zero stars if I could. I received an email that my textbook was returned in an “unusable condition,” when the claimed “unusability” was the tiniest bit of water damage on a few blank back pages. Knetbooks claimed that this means they can never send out the book again, which I believe is a complete misrepresentation, as I have received books from them in much worse condition. I have been in contact through email, text, and live chat, and no one will speak to me in real time (no one even responded to the texts or emails). The first person I spoke with on live chat said they put in an inquiry for a supervisor to call me, and when I (predictably) received nothing, I sent a live chat again. This new person said that a supervisor emailed me (which I never received), and that no one would ever call me, and that their decision was final. I wanted to like Knetbooks, but I fear it uses abusive practices to double charge people for books, and then send those “unusable” books back to the next student. Again, the only reason this review is not zero stars is that it is not an option.

United States | 26 November 2024I ordered my textbook well before my course start date. We are now starting week 3 of my course and it still has not arrived. I sent in a request to customer service asking for a partial or full refund since my book had not arrived, and even if it did, its still 3 weeks into my course. The response I got felt very dismissive, and I was informed thatI needed to ask neighbors and they made sure to remind me that I was responsible for its return. When I asked "How do I return a book that I never received" I was told to file a police report. This interchange was very unhelpful, and they did not offer anything to help remedy the situation. Even if I get my book tomorrow, I think it would be right to give at least a partial refund, since a good portion of my course is over. I have rented several books from Knetbooks and havent had a problem. I have referred many colleagues as well. I dont feel like I got the proper support from Knetbooks, and I will not be using them again if this matter is not resolved.

They claimed I returned the textbook in poor condition and they charged me full retail price for textbook that was a rental. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and they could not help me. This is a dishonest company and they steal from their customers...
