Amerisafe will outsource your move to third rate movers who will demand more money when they show up (in our case 4000 dollars), and Amerisafe will then tell you “they are not responsible- you need to contact the carrier”. 30 days later you will not have your household goods. Contacted this ‘moving’ company through the internet. Quick response and was given an acceptable price to move a small amount of goods from Florida to NC. BEWARE. This is not a mover but rather a broker who misrepresents themselves. Contracts are signed then another third party shows up demanding fresh contracts be signed. Everything is extra from an elevator charge to a more than 75 feet charge and on the delivery end a transfer fee to a moving van. Although the representative gave me his phone number He could never get a returned call or progress report. DO NOT USE

On 7/29/24 I have email communication from John Wyville at AmeriSafe movers that they could do the job on July 2nd or 3rd in a binding estimate. He assured me in writing 3 things – it would be a direct move from my home to NC (no warehouse), that their company would be doing the move (not subcontracted with a rental truck and day laborers), and that my inventory and cubic feet was accurate @ 705 cubic feet.  He assured me that there would be no issues with the cubic feet.  The movers show up from Cobra Van Lines on July 2nd and have my Dad sign a bill of lading for 1200 cubic feet before they ever come in the house.  They also tell him that they were dropping my belongings off in a warehouse in Chicago to await being put on a semi to North Carolina. I called John from the airport in tears and he says I will have to pay for the overage since my dad signed but that I would be able to get a refund from AmeriSafe.  I was told that he would “make this right, whatever it takes – even if it has to come from my own pocket” by John.  He says he’s going to forward it to customer service and someone would reach out.  The person from customer service reached out and literally laughed when I relayed the conversation with John Wyville, Senior Moving Coordinator.  She said that 1200 cubic feet were signed for and that is what I had to pay if I wanted my things back.  I call Cobra Van Lines and ask for photos of 1200 cubic feet actually being used in the truck and was told that they don’t do that. The evening of July 5th I get a text from the delivery driver saying he will be at my house on the 6th of July.  My belongings arrive on time and undamaged but while they were putting my furniture back together we couldn’t find a hardware box.  I asked if I could go look in the truck and was told that I could.  The box wasn’t in the truck either.  ALL my items had been offloaded at that time and I was surprised at how small the space was.  There were several deliveries on the truck – it was packed completely full – and I had been the first stop.  I decided to measure the space (and took video of me doing so).  The dimensions were 142 x 108 x 100 inches.  Had I used up every square inch of available space (which is impossible), the very maximum I could have used would be 887 cubic feet.  That is even counting the space right in front of the door which someone else’s king mattress was taking up.

The moving from Kim, Luis, Jimmy and Greg got me amazing. They treated the service with the professionalism and care it deserved. The whole crew was quiet and able to do their job. I am one satisfied person to use these guys and will tell anybody to get their help as well.
