United Kingdom | 26 July 2020Recently bought a People Tree cotton jumpsuit at a shop selling range of ethical clothes and loved it, so when I needed underwear and smart casual tops I had a look online at people tree. I'm trying to avoid buying fast fashion, to protect both workers and environment. Most fit well and looked great and I'm really happy with them. Some didn't fit or didn't like style, but all great quality, so returned part of order. There was a delay in the return being processed, which was completely understandable due to covid, but then very simple process and an apology for the delay received. If anything, I appreciate the delay as it suggests that the warehouse is maintaining social distancing and they are protecting their employees. Thank you, People Tree

United Kingdom | 24 July 2020I'm really loathe to do this because I love People Tree and their clothing is excellent quality but no one is responding to my emails and my order still hasn't arrived after almost 2 weeks. Like others, I had an email after one week to say one item on my order was out of stock which is why it had been delayed and they immediately refunded me for that item, which I appreciated. I was told to email if I didn't receive a tracking notification within 2 days. No tracking notification was sent so I emailed again. And again. And messaged on Instagram. I have a very strong feeling I'm going to be told the rest of my order is out of stock now, too. The rest of my order totals almost £100 so it's not small change. I shop with people tree because their clothing is beautifully made and it's ethical, but this is really really poor customer service. I absolutely do not expect everything to run perfectly all the time, especially not during a pandemic, but the total lack of any response is not acceptable. Just send an email to say it's being looked into! As far as I know my emails aren't even going through. There's no phone number to call as they're working at home, which is obviously understandable, but you need to reply to emails! I've had multiple emails about sales and promotions though which is really irritating when I don't even get an automated response now! PLEASE can someone respond.

United Kingdom | 23 July 2020Ordered a few items on 1st July with express delivery. I contacted them for an update after a week as I'd not received any email or tracking information since confirmation of order. Response received within 2 days that an item was out of stock and warehouse was waiting to be told to dispatch the rest of the order. Received refund for express postage and out of stock item but no word on the rest of order. I emailed them again at the beginning of this week to request a full refund of the remaining balance if the ordered items had not already been dispatched. I've not even received a reply this time but have received no less than 5 emails from People Tree advertising more clothes and it's made me worry my money's been taken just so it can sit in their account and make them look like a viable business without them upholding their end of the deal. I know the pandemic has been hard to work around, but replying to customers in a clear timely fashion and keeping track of stock are basics of any small business.

United Kingdom | 19 July 2020I ordered 2 pairs of trousers in two separate transactions several weeks ago. I have yet to receive anything. I emailed to ask where my items were and was told that there had been an error and my order had been cancelled today. No mention at all of a refund. I have replied to the email several times, asking whether or not I will receive my trousers and, if not, why I have not been given a refund. I have had no reply. I paid £100 and would like the trousers or my money immediately. I'm really disappointed with the dreadful customer service from People Tree. I won't be ordering again, sadly.

United Kingdom | 18 July 2020I purchased a tunic from People Tree 5years ago and it is still in fantastic condition! I wear it regularly and have done throughout the 5 years. The colour is just as vibrant as it was when I got it (teal) and the shape and fit are exactly the same. The organic cotton fabric is soft and feel great. I hope to get another 5 years at least out of it. Thank you People Tree

United Kingdom | 18 July 2020Products ordered were too tight on my chest and contacted people tree about this. Was advised to return them and fill in the return form. Done everything ages ago and still not heard anything back or received any refund at all... Shopping nice and easy and they replied after a few days which during lockdown was pretty fast but unfortunately everything else a bit disappointing :(

United Kingdom | 16 July 2020Disappointing experience. Ordered items that become available after being out of stock. Received no indication of delivery times. I contacted them after few days. Takes ages to get response and even then I had no idea if I am getting my order or not. How many days you need to find out if the item is in stock? Are you using a paper and pen? Another email, no response, fed up. Next time when someone asks why do I shop on Amazon? It is for reliability & efficient communication, clearly non existent here. First and last purchase for me.

United Kingdom | 14 July 2020I placed an order for five sale items on 3rd July. It is now 14th July and they have still not arrived. I did chase this up last week on Thursday 9th and received an automated reply that they would deal with my enquiry within 1-2 days. Today when the package had still not arrived and they had still not sent me a reply to my enquiry I emailed them again to say that I was becoming anxious that I might have paid the money (around £150, so not inconsequential) to a fake company or something. I was also concerned because when I searched on my account as a registered online customer there was no 'orders history' to be found, making it impossible to track the package. So now I've just found an email from them apologising that MY ENTIRE ORDER OF FIVE ITEMS ARE ALL OUT OF STOCK and that I should expect a refund within 3-5 days. They gave the explanation: "This does occasionally happen when there is a discrepancy between the figures held on our computer system and the actual numbers found at the warehouse." So, I ordered the garments in good faith that they were in stock but in fact when it came to it none of them were. There is a problem with the online ordering system this company has in place. This is very disappointing and frustrating. The last item I ordered online from People Tree and had to return took an age for them to refund so I won't be holding my breath to get this current refund back. Great clothes, ethical values but very poor customer service indeed! I don't think I'll be buying anything else online from People Tree which I am actually sad about, because I really do love the clothes.

United Kingdom | 11 July 2020It's been a month since my return was received back to this company and I'm still waiting for a refund.

United Kingdom | 09 July 2020I posted my return on 1st June and I heard nothing so I emailed People Tree on 2nd July and have still had no response from them. I am disappointed that no one has bothered to reply to let me know what is happening with my refund.

United Kingdom | 04 July 2020I really wish I had read some of these reviews before placing an order on 11th June that can't be found on the Royal Mail tracking system. Despite emailing several times I have had only one reply saying email again if it hasn't turned up in few days, which of course it hasn't. There has been no other acknowledgement at all of any other emails so I have no idea if they are even being looked at. I would appreciate a reply so at least I know this is being investigated.

United Kingdom | 03 July 2020Shipping was fast and the quality of the clothes is excellent! I would never have paid 65 pounds for a demin skirt but after trying it on and seeing how good it looks with all my other clothes I'm hooked! Will definitely be buying from them again! Items I received are so well made and look so good, I'm sure I will be able to enjoy them for many years to come

United Kingdom | 03 July 2020Really frustrated. I am still waiting to be refunded. I emailed over a week ago and have had NO reply. I would appreciate some sort of acknowledgement of my email and reassurance that my return has arrived and will be processed. Previously I have ordered some beautiful trousers from people tree via John Lewis. I think in future I will ALWAYS go through John Lewis as they have much better communication

United Kingdom | 30 June 2020I have updated my review below to 1 star as no response received. If still no response by the end of this week, next step will be to contact the bank to complain. ------------- I have not received any information regarding delivery of clothes I ordered on the 20th of June. I followed up on the 26th of June and no response to that either. Also, when I log in to the Peopletree website, there's only one page, the 'My Details' update page. There is nowhere I can go to view my orders. If I could at least see my order on the account, I would be ok to wait. Just want to make sure the order hasn't been 'lost'.

Switzerland | 23 June 2020Three weeks went by and eventually I contacted them to see what was happening. Oh, sorry, the main item was out of stock and we didn't tell you and give you any choice, but we've now sent you the 9 quid underwear part of your order and that will be 12 quid postage as I live outside the UK. Absolutely useless. First and last order.

Ireland | 10 June 2020Beautiful clothes but poor customer service. My registered return was received on May 11th & I'm still waiting to be refunded. Seems like lots of others on here having the same problem. I understand it's an unusual time and people are working from home etc I have no problem with delays on that front it's the customer service I have an issue with. They seem to reply to you & then disappear. I was emailed a week ago to say my refund was due and nothing since. No emails explaining why. I had to chase the refund on my previous order also, pre pandemic I might add. I won't be purchasing again : (

Canada | 28 May 2020I have received two orders over the past 2 months from People Tree. The garments are wonderful! I have Asperger's and people on the spectrum can have great difficulty with clothing because of our sensory sensitivities. Anything from clothing tags, seams, fabric texture, fit, reactions to synthetic materials can all create a high level of discomfort akin to having severe dry itchy skin or a sunburn (strange, I know). People Tree is the first company where I can wear anything and nothing hurts. The garments I've purchased are organic cotton (regular, brushed, and flannel) and Tencel. I look forward to trying their Linen garments as I'm a big fan of flax as an eco-friendly crop. I originally wanted to buy from PT because they stand for ethical slow fashion, human rights, and environmental protection. They care. But being able to wear clothing that doesn't hurt me is an incredible experience. Thank-you PT for (unintentionally?!) making Autistic friendly garments. On to the shipping experience (amid a pandemic): The first order saw some complications regarding delayed shipping and unanswered emails which led to a lot of frustration and irate emails on my end however it got resolved and as a gesture of goodwill, PT refunded the shipping fee (shipping outside UK). The second order saw an older item (reiko trousers) out of stock in my size and the shipment didn't go out 'right away' because the CSR wanted to make absolute certain that the trousers were, in fact, out of stock. I appreciated that. It was confirmed they were out of stock and a refund was processed same day. Highly recommend PT. They have some hiccups, for sure, but they're human beings open to constructive feedback and, well, Rome wasn't built in a day.
