Unfortunately, there is no exchange option, which means if you need to order another size, you have to put in a new order entirely. However, customer service has been excellent and super fast to reimburse me the discount from my original order for the new order!

Returned an item for refund 3 weeks ago and according to Royal Mail tracking has now been with People Tree for over 2 weeks. Have not received refund and have been ignored by the company repeatedly. Seems their "good ethics" messaging doesn't extend to good customer service. There are other companies out there, would suggest avoiding People Tree. Interesting over use of plastic packaging too given their supposed ethos.

No matter what the situation, whether I've waited weeks or a month, I have never received my refund unless I have chased this. Unfortunately, this does make me more cautious and has significantly reduced what I'm willing to order from this company, which is a shame as I often see pieces I like. I sent a number of items back a couple of weeks ago via a 48 hour tracked service. I sent a chaser email with proof of postage a week ago. Unfortunately, I still haven't heard back or had my refund processed.

Hungary | 12 May 2020Great experience, I ordered from mainland europe and was expecting a much longer wait time due to COVID-19, however my parcel arrived in just over a week! This was a great surprise, as I've had horrible experiences with other companies. Also, I love the products and will be ordering more soon. I really enjoy what the brand stands for, and intend to become a long-term customer. Very happy I decided to give ordering a shot and will definitely be returning:)

United Kingdom | 06 May 2020I ordered some underwear and a vest in November 2019 (In good time for a birthday at the end of December). By The end of December my order still hadn't arrived, so I asked for a refund. The items never arrived and the refund has only just been processed now in May 2020!

United Kingdom | 27 April 2020I ordered two dresses from People Tree, I don't often do online shopping but I wanted to try and support this supplier due its ethical background. I was worried about how my order was progressing and emailed the company and received a prompt and polite reply. A few days after, my dresses arrived, I was so impressed at the quality of them, the fabric is amazing! I am really glad I ordered these and look forward to wearing them at some point soon. The size was a little on the generous side but I personally prefer that. Thank you for the service, I would be happy to place an order in the future.

The shorts and bra tops were as advertised and pictured and quite a nice eco white colour but the camisoles were a ecru yellowish colour and not something wearable under a white top. The customer service reply has been a standard 'like it or lump it' one. Can I be bothered to risk the local post office at this difficult time and hope Peopletree refund my money? Probably not, more likely I will just shop somewhere else in future. Depressing.

After many calls and emails I received an email notification to say a refund would be due into my bank account within 7 days. However, it is now over 7 days and still the money has not been refunded. It is now nearly 4 weeks in total since I sent the clothes back!

I absolutely love the products and ethos of the company but their customer service on refunds is terrible. I have ordered twice from People Tree and have needed to return part of the order on each occasion. In both instances I have had to chase up by phone for my refund - after over a month of returning items - where after payment has been made. On the second occasion, I emailed first but received no reply to my email. I was given some platitude that returns are dealt with manually and can take 10 working days to process - if only! I can only think this dreadful refund process is a cash flow driven. It is however really damaging to the brand. In future I will look to order People Tree products via John Lewis to save the upset.

I read all of them before buying a beautiful dress via people tree and hoped that they changed their system. Unfortunately I am still trying to reach them via telephone, mail, whatever to get my refund back - never got one answer. I'm getting tired of waiting for my money and the worst customer service ever, so there is only one way left: get a lawyer involved. Guys, please don't order there, if you are not absolutely sure you'd like to keep everything you order.

Italy | 13 February 2020I love my new dressing gown, which is so soft - I always choose organic cotton as I know this is the best choice for my skin and the environment. I don't buy a lot of clothes but when I do People Tree is always my go-to brand. I also ordered some twill navy trousers but unfortunately they were a bit too tight on the waist - less biscuits for me! I was really disappointed as I loved them. I returned them and was promptly refunded.

Showing me some make up spreadsheet of your own mind decisions about where and what to allocate my money to ! It’s incredible you can say your ethical and have values as you certainly don’t have any values ! Your manager refused to take my calls you Rachel hung up phone on me several times when I tried to explain I had all my tracked receipts and yet you still chose to put me through two weeks of anxiously and untold stress your company needs a thorough review of your returns process and to give people their company back within a reasonable period of you receiving the goods back without customers having to chase to refunds and then going through the hell I been to I am going to my honest review on trust pilot of my experience at the hands of you people disgustingYou only did this cause I escalated all 6 cases to PayPal when I highlighted my refund request I was met with we already refunded you and my january return you allocated in your own mind my funds to various historical orders to justify my request for my refund ! Previous orders were returned in October and you received them in October yet you only did my refund today ! It’s been the most stressful express I have ever had with a retailer and my review on trust pilot seems I am not alone I feel exhausted with how you treated me with utter contempt and not believing me yet today is proof of my findings of what you owed me in part refunds it’s a shambolic system which treats people with no ethics or values as this is what your brand is based on as I write this to you I feel utterly sick in my stomach at the way you ie your company have treated me !

United Kingdom | 04 December 2019I don't hate People Tree, I love their brand and everything they stand for in sustainability and good working rights of who makes our clothes. However I had to write this poor review because I'm tired of having to chase up a return every time. I've ordered several things over the past year and each time I have had to wait a month from the date it was received (by the postal tracking) and contact them myself to ask where is the refund. Each time I get a reply up to three days later with an apology and saying it is a busy time for them. This seems to be the whole year round! I love you guys and your brand but please up your customer service game.

The customer services lady was great

The clothes are beautiful and natural fabric made with organic materials so that was the appeal for me. The company feels amateur however, I had to return two dresses because they were too small. After about 3 weeks I was getting worried i hadn’t had a refund. So I emailed and a few days after got a refund for £15 described as refund for a necklace. Strange because I did not return the necklace but 2 dresses. After phoning in and speaking to someone I still didn’t get a refund. Finally I raised a dispute with PayPal and only then received the funds back. So had to wait a month for my money of £95. As a customer I felt that I wasn’t believed and completely spoiled my shopping experience so won’t be using the shop again. I have since read very similar feedback from other shoppers so it wasn’t a fluke at all. Please improve your returns service or your business will suffer.
