I purchased a psu, 15vdc output for a Radial product. The output was far higher than stated, ie 25vdc and it sent my pedal up in smoke. Obviously I am not happy with Studiocare, and am awaiting some show of recompense. An email was promised for today, 18th October, to enable a return of the psu but nothing was sent. I will phone tomorrow to chase up and hopefully this won't turn into a long drawn out affair.

The OP-1 from Teenage Engineering is without doubt an expensive device. You might call it the Apple Plus (as in, Apple level pricing and then some) so as a potential purchaser you have to be pretty sure you really want one. Aside from price the biggest fear factor to consider before you commit to shelling out your hard earned cash, is that the technology is now 10 years old - will there be an OP-2 just around the corner? Now with those caveats in place, I would say that it is a great piece of kit with several limitations and it is those limitations which are meant to be its main attraction. You cannot use it like you might in a software DAW on your MAC or PC but that is not what it is for. It is a great all in one creative tool with a raft of synth engines, drum kits, effects and a 4 track (virtual) tape machine. There is a very steep learning curve to get anything good out of it but if you watch any YouTube videos, they make it look very easy. Be prepared to put some effort in but you'll have tons of fun and best of all, everything you need is in this one little box of tricks. Oh I forgot to mention the price. Studiocare has the best prices too 🙏
