Ignore their emails and marketing portraying themselves as a caring company. They're not. Their recent huge rise in electricity prices is reprehensible. All in a "first world" country. They're choosing to hit everyone even harder in this already difficult time. This is greed at its most evil. EDIT - The generic and lazy copy / paste reply below is a further indication of AGL's ability to blame everything else in an attempt to cover the fact their profits are soaring and we the users who are forced to pay their outrageous prices, are suffering. Clink those champagne glasses AGL and look forward to another year of ripping off the masses. HOORAY! PS - A family member once worked in a very high-up position at ETSA. They said way back when it was privatised that nothing good would come of it for the users. Australia | 15 June 2023Hardly deserve 1 star. Have been waiting 2 weeks for my modem to arrive, it still hasn't been picked up by Auspost. I've tried to cancel and get a refund only to be told I can only get a refund after I return it!!! Not sure how I return something that still hasn't been shipped. Customer service is terrible. Can hardly understand anyone.

Australia | 08 June 2023Why do AGL charge me $8.00 a day to read my solar input when they in fact dont read it until the end of the month.I notice they only charge people this rate when they have a large solar system.Our neighbor has a small solar system and they have no daily charge for solar on their bill.!!!! Stinks.

Not only will AGL do a hard enquiry on your credit file (decreasing your credit score) without adequate notification that they plan to do so, it will also take them almost two weeks to connect you to their service. And they won’t tell you that they’ve failed to connect you, they’ll wait for you to figure it out and have to continually contact them to rectify it. Was previously with Red Energy and wished I had never switched. To top it off, their online account which is meant to show your usage doesn’t even work!

Found out there is a 9 hour outage tomorrow...not from AGL but another provider. AGL your goooooooone both telecommunications and energy. Very unreliable connections and poor response time to issues. I pay 65$ a month for the internet and internet is always down half a month, also the internet is so slow, I don’t know why but the internet is always down. If I have to use my mobile hotspot to use internet in my laptop, what’s the point of having a wifi? I have been using agl for nearly two years and most of the weekends I have to use mobile data because the internet is down!!

Australia | 21 May 2023We requested an nbn box for connection at our new property. We had to follow up several times on the chat about the status of the nbn box. It wasn’t until I called up, AGL informed me that the box had not been ordered and that they would order it. We have now been a week and a half without internet due to AGL not ordering the nbn box. Poor communication with customer service. Very disappointed.

Speaking down to me like I was an idiot, didnt connect the original plan I wanted, gaslit me, then put some absolute a-hole on the phone who was the rudest human I have ever encountered. They dont care about their customers, they just think you're stupid and treat you like it, even when you catch them out lying.

Was originally told previous owners did not cancel their plan and confirmed ownership which then was informed would take 24-48 hours for confirmation to come through however it’s now been over 48 hours and haven’t heard anything.

I tried opening an account with them, but due to the incompetence of this company I requested MULTIPLE TIMES my order be canceled after only a day of attempting to connect my home internet with them. I realized they were going to be hard to deal with when they ignored this, have now sent me a bill for absolutely nothing (as I’m now connected with Telstra), they ended up sending out a modem anyway after transferring me over and over and over after I had requested to cancel the order. I have never used the modem, and never will - they don’t give an option to return the modem, especially seeing as it is their mistake it has been sent in the first place… I CANNOT get through on the phones - which is where they state we have to go to cancel or disconnect anything… I was transferred on the chat box over 15 times and still waiting to get through on the phones. DO NOT CHOOSE AGL!!!
