Canada | 17 May 2024The bracelet I purchased from 1stdibs arrived in a VR Jewels box. When i checked VR Jewels site the bracelet is listed at a cheaper price. The quality was also questionable as the chain is very thin and flimsy not worth the price (even the original sellers VR Jewels agrees). The customer service was also terrible. The chat told me there was nothing I could do and defended the chain then someone from the team emailed me offering price matching options only to say their price matching policy is only effective if they are alerted 7 days after purchase. Why tell me when im complaining after receiving it?! Would NOT recommend

They charge you without authorization for every single freaking thing and you have to deal with them day in day out to get a refund, on top of the crazy high commission rates there is a PROCESSING FEE for the sales you make, and a cancellation fee if you cancel more than 2 sales, there is a fee basically everywhere. And when you want to close your shop they don't let you. It's literally a trap, and you don't really make a lot of sales from there, so it's absolutely not worth it. I've been on 1stdibs for 2 years and they actually COST me more money than I made through there. Absolute "we're a billion $ company so what are you going to do about it" type of scammers. And for the buyers - please do yourself a favor and just reverse image search the item you want to buy to find the shop's website and communicate with the shop directly rather than on 1stdibs. You'll pay a substantially less amount and all the payment would go to a hardworking small business rather than these jerks.

United States | 07 May 2024Writing my experience as a seller on the platform. I would strongly suggest not working with 1stdibs if you have means to sell elsewhere (your own site). They nickel and dime you on everything and require you to have a card on file to have a sellers account with them. Almost every month when I check my credit statement I have a random charge from 1stdibs (unauthorized) and then have to spend lots of time chatting with them, emailing, etc. to get my money back. Despite the platform's capacity to generate occasional valuable sales, the effort required to address these billing discrepancies could be more productively invested in growing one's own independent sales channels.

United States | 04 May 2024My issue is with 1stDibs and delivery company. NOT the seller! The piece I bought is wonderful! The seller's communication was wonderful. My issue is, paying $500 for shipping AFTER their "free" shipping promo, and the fact that it took a month to get from Florida to Chicago. I complained to the seller and was told that 1stDibs handles all of the shipping. I didn't need two guys to bring it into my house for 500 bucks. I would have rather had UPS drop it at my door 3 weeks earlier, and I could have hauled it in myself. For a LOT less money. Utterly ridiculous. The shipper they used BMC freight had the WORST customer service I've ever dealt with (I was in retail for 30 years, I get customer service). I was told by BMC "We will have more information next Tuesday, we will reach out then." Tuesday comes and goes. I send a follow up email that Thursday. The response "We are still working on the schedule, we'll know for sure next Wednesday and reach out then". Guess what? Wednesday comes and goes. I send a very irate follow up email. I receive no apology, just a delivery date. A few days later, I receive another email stating that the delivery will actually be the day before their initial date. Great. Finally something. The day of delivery I get a call from the driver (who was pleasant enough). "Oh, we just got into Chicago, we're going to deliver this tomorrow." I told him absolutely not. I'd waited over a month for it and wanted it that night. Usually, I'd be like "Yeah, that's fine." But the garbage customer service and extortionist shipping cost made me put my foot down.

Ho venduto un lampadario ad un cliente americano, ovviamente è stato imballato con diversi materiali tra cui pluriball, cartoni, coperte e quant'altro. DHL ha consegnato il lampadario e rotto e anche se la spedizione era assicurata non hanno rimborsato neanche 1€. Ho dovuto spedire un secondo lampadario uguale a mie spese. A cosa serve l'assicurazione del corriere allora ?

United States | 01 May 2024I bought a 115 piece set of silverplate flatware. The pictures were lovely and the seller communicated that the set was in good condition. When it arrived, 19 pieces looked to have been scrubbed with an abrasive pad so aggressively that they are beyond repair. Most of the damage is to the expensive serving pieces. Customer service responded to my initial request for a return based on the damage. Then, nothing… they refused to answer any emails. Not until I filed a dispute with my credit card company did they respond to me. Now they are offering a return if I pay $230 for the return shipping. They are protecting the “Platinum” seller all the way. They want me to mark “buyers remorse” as the reason for the return. They are also telling me it is the sellers choice to offer a return or not. They are obviously applying no pressure to the seller and no consequences for selling damaged goods. Let the buyer beware! If I could give 0 stars, it would be more than they deserve.

Despite agreeing to terms, they deactivated my account prematurely, causing financial losses and disrupting my workflow. The lack of communication and disregard for customer care throughout this ordeal is unacceptable. Additionally, the only interest I received in my inventory, which I attempted to sell via 1stDibs, was from scammers. This further adds to my frustration and highlights the inadequacies of their platform's security measures. I have requested the immediate cancellation of my subscription and the closure of my account. I refuse to invest more time or resources into an organization that fails to honour its commitments, mistreats its clients, and provides a platform ripe for fraudulent activity. If you are considering using 1stDibs, I strongly advise against it.
