I like the quality of the sellers and the art on 1stDibs. The website is great in terms of the presentation of the items and descriptions and seller reviews. I have had some issues where it won't let me process a purchase and other glitches. But they are my first choice when searching for historic art online.

1stDibs is rapaciously greedy. Their dealers are subjected to high monthly fees and up to 30% in commission. This hugely inflates prices. Buyers will find it much cheaper to do an image search for the items shown on 1stDibs and buy direct from the dealer, or an alternative intermediary such as Vinterior.

Nachdem ich ein Armband habe zurückschicken müssen, wird mir der Zoll im Land des Verkäufers in Rechnung gestellt, obwohl dieser eigentlich nicht zu bezahlen wäre, da kein Kauf stattgefunden hat. Nach 2 Monaten hin und her schreiben wird nicht auf den Sachverhalt eingegangen sondern nur auf die AGBs verwiesen. Frechheit. Ich werde nie wieder hier etwas kaufen. Es bleibt mir nur der rechtliche Weg, falsch abgezogene Gebühren zurückzubekommen.

1stDibs rip off both buyers and sellers. All prices on 1stDibs are inflated by a minimum of 30%. I recommend other buyers to search for the item elsewhere and buy from the seller directly. Save yourself A LOT of money.

I have purchased two beautiful Breathtaking antique ladderback chairs on 1stDibs. the first a lovely prim and beautiful childs chair for one of my antique cloth dolls and it is breathtaking. I just recently purchased a CA 1700 red ladderback full size chair with arms and glorious turnings for my husband at our antique Sawbuck table in the kitchen again breathtaking. I could not ask for better sellers or a better company. I am so very happy and they are both just lovely lovely. Thankyou, Carol xo

1stdibs gave me a quote for return shipping on an order to Europe and I am appalled at the price of $1060.00 for 2 bracelets! Neither bracelet fit my husband. The seller Vitale1913 agreed to the return and an exchange with the same free shipping, but they could not interfere with 1stdibs because of "policy". The original shipping price, that the seller included as "free", was under 100.00 for each. I paid an outrageous amount for duty on those 2 bracelets, to receive them, $525.00! I was not informed that there would be so much in duty costs. I feel this was deceptive from the beginning and I am very frustrated and disappointed in this whole process. I would have loved to exchange the 2 bracelets for the correct size. I am unable to make a return or exchange, without incurring a significant expense, I'll am compelled, to warn purchasers from buying anything from 1stdibs and Vitale 1913. I would be happy to revise this review if I get consideration.

I fell in love with the small French Antique money box when I first saw it on 1st. Dibs.from Atelier 33bis. I made an offer which was accepted and have just received it, It is much nicer in real life and I am thrilled with it. Very nice, business like and helpful seller. Packaged well and arrived quickly. Would certainly recommend the seller.
