I initially tried to place an order through the TopCV website, but I was redirected to TopResume during payment. At the time, I didn’t realize I was on the TopResume site. Curious about the difference between TopCV and TopResume, I contacted their online chat channel to ask, but the wait time for a response kept increasing endlessly. When I woke up the next morning, the chat had been closed with just a generic suggestion to email their support team. Despite sending multiple follow-up messages through both chat and email, I received no response. Suddenly, I noticed that my assigned writer had been changed without explanation. When I inquired about the reason for this change, there was, again, no reply. Frustrated by the lack of communication, I used a new email address to send them a purchase-related inquiry. Surprisingly, I received a response the very next morning, which made it clear to me that they selectively respond to emails based on their convenience. I filed a complaint with the FTC and strongly demanded a refund. After some time, they acknowledged my refund request and mentioned it would take 1–2 days to process. Later that same afternoon, at 4:08 PM, I received an email stating they wanted to have a “productive conversation.” Although I had never actually spoken with them before, I decided to hear them out and replied promptly at 4:11 PM, asking what they wanted to discuss. I responded quickly because they had requested a prompt reply or phone call. However, I never received any further response or communication from them. They will endlessly test your patience. While they expect real-time responses from you, they only reply selectively to questions that benefit them. I doubt they’ll even respond to this review, but I sincerely hope their rating drops to the 3-star range.

TopCV has to be the worst company I have ever encountered. Their dealings are unscrupulous, their customer service is dire, and they provide the worst product possible. I saw TopCV advertise that they can redo your CV and cover letter to help you get a job easier and get past the ATS systems. I emailed them quite a few times and on more than one occasion asked if a person would compose the CV rather than AI, and each time was assured that yes it would be a person and not AI. So, I paid £109 for their service. I was astounded when I received their ‘first draft’ of my CV, it was clearly written by AI, anybody could see that and it was obviously not been written by a person. To make matters worse, they had put things on my CV that I had not done, expecting me to lie to prospective employers. This is in fact illegal in the UK; you can be dismissed immediately for lying on your CV. The CV was badly written, and the formatting was terrible. I showed it to several professionals, and all agreed my current CV was in fact far better. So, I emailed TopCV and told them I was aghast that they would put lies on my CV, and it was so obviously put together with AI, you could do this yourself in 5 minutes so no need to pay someone to do this for you! I told them that as they had broken trading standards (using AI when I asked them not to) and had put lies on my CV, I had no confidence in them and requested a refund. They went back and forth for several weeks and basically refused to refund. So, the summation is that I have paid them £109 and got nothing in return for this. Their offer to rewrite was worth nothing to me as I have no faith. They are capable of doing this without the use of AI, and the company point blank refused to refund. Avoid this company at all costs; you are better off doing what they have clearly done and just using a free AI Chat site.

Definitely would recommend using this company to boost your C.V and help with cover letter and LinkedIn account. I was contacted by Allen and he was more than happy to help and change anything that I wanted.

I absolutely loved working with my CV writer and the finished product. I am making the move from postdoc research (humanities) to the private sector and I had no idea how to frame my skills and achievements to match the non-academic market. I was also worried I didn't have a lot of experience/skills. However, it turns out I had all of them and then some--I just lacked the language. My CV writer very masterfully translated all that into "corporate" speak :). Very happy and totally worth the money! (As an aside, it was reassuring to see my achievements through the eyes of another person.)

I ordered Cv. I payed more than 150 pounds for CV and LinkedIn upgrade. I expected professional services, because they were suggested by person that I respect. But after receiving results I understand that my previous cv was much better and my Linkedln. I didn’t get any result from their job and only lost money for nothing. I’m strongly not recommending them as company. Apart from that according conditions if I didn’t get any interview they should have more services, but I didn’t get anything. Be careful to work with them.

Responded immediately and worked with me on several drafts. My CV looks more up-to-date. I cannot fault top CV, service was excellent and I would recommend to use the service.

They use AI to simply rephrase most of this. Total waste of money. I regret not checking the reviews before throwing my money away like this. A total money grab business.

Got my CV re-written in about 2 days after I formally applied. Response was swift and to the point. Talia, my contact person was very open and attentive to my requests.
