United Kingdom | 12 April 2025Lock on my old Truckman top fitted to my VW Amarok stopped working, first by remote then after a while the key just started turning in the lock. So truck was still usable but obviously couldn't risk leaving anything in the back. Phoned Truckman, spoke to a very helpful guy name Jack. I also requested that while in the hands of the experts they lifted the entire top and replaced the rubber seal which sits between pickup and top. I sent some pics over and agreed a rough price. On arrival Jack had been called away so dealt with a lovely lady, Emily. After going over the emails between Jack and myself took the basic amount of money for the job and warned me it may need a new actuator and complete new handle and handle mechanism. She said she'd get it assessed once in their workshop and let me know the parts needed and the additional price. Emily was very busy and each time she left her desk and headed in my direction I was dreading the worst. I had been quoted an approx job time of 1.5hrs by Jack. So after a couple of hours when no-one had come back to me with the additional price I just sat quietly (lovely Capuchino btw). Eventually Emily came over to me with another guy and I thought "oh no, here we go", expecting the worst. They walked me to my truck and told me it was all finished and fully working - it was obvious the rubber seal had been changed. However, my first reaction was "is it all working" and "why didn't you come and tell me the additional cost" only to be told there was NO additional cost. They had managed to fix both the locking mechanism so it worked with the key an it worked remotely. I couldn't believe my luck. I have used Truckman a couple of times now and can't recommend or praise them highly enough. So Thanks guys with special thanks to Jack and Emily - she was brilliant!!! You deserve a promotion Emily!!!

United Kingdom | 05 February 2025My Husband spoke to Bob at Truckman to order a new canopy for our Ford ranger. Bob was really helpful and explained that we would have to wait for our canopy to be made. We made the order on the 5/11/2024 and went to have it fitted yesterday 3/02/2025. As soon as we arrived at Truckman the lovely lady on reception explained that she needed to go around our vehicle and do a video for any scratches etc and invited us to help ourselves to tea/coffee and sit in the waiting area, we had been told it would take around 5 hours to fit but they called us in around 4 hours to say our Ranger was ready to collect. The canopy is fantastic, when we bought our Ranger it had a badly fitted canopy on that hadn't had the electrics connected up and it leaked, due to bad fitting... Our new canopy has all the electrics wired up and fits perfectly with no leaks, they had even gave up a small pot of touch up paint, as they old canopy had left some damage on the paintwork... I can't recommend Truckman more highly, they were very professional and I would give them 10 star's if I could.

United Kingdom | 30 January 2025Firstly, don't trust the web site as it lies, and they know it lies. It will tell you they have stock when in fact the Hardtop must be ordered from Thailand. They will then give you a delivery/Fitting date after you pay, Double that delay and you might have a realistic idea. They cancelled my fitting twice. Don't have them fit it, you will assume that professionals will be doing it....they won't. When I got home, i found a cable dangling under the truck which had either rubbed on the tyre or leaf spring, damaging the sheathing and the insulation around the core. The cable run from rear to front of the truck is quite honestly, Shocking. It looks like a monkey did it with the cable being untidy and loose, secured poorly with cheap cable ties of insufficient size and gauge. I will need to get under the truck with some proper cable ties to remedy. Having been under the truck, I found that a 50mm bung has been removed under the passenger side floor, exposing the carpet/felt. The carpet is clean, so clearly this bung was not missing prior to the fitting. I have no idea why they removed it. The interior light only worked intermittently from day one, I got in touch and they sent me instructions on how to fix if the light stayed on, which is the opposite to what I have. Oh, and fitting took twice as long as they quoted. I'm done with that company and my advice to anybody is, Don't let the monkeys who fit for them touch your truck, you will be far better off fitting it yourself and getting an Auto electrician wire it up if you are unsure of doing it yourself. At least it will be done properly. In answer to the reply from Truckman, Your employee Chris told me that you don't stock most items listed but your web site still shows "In stock". No matter your excuses, the interior light should have worked and the wiring harness should have been properly secured and if you removed a bung and didn't have a replacement, you should have informed me. You asked me to email you, well I have and I got an unsatisfactory reply, so why would I continue. You could always call me but I guess the strategy is to hope the problem just goes away.

United Kingdom | 29 January 2025Placed a simple order for Mountain Top cross bars to fit my 2024 Ford Ranger, this mob were unable to fulfil this order and in the process lied to me on several occasions. Took 4 days to ship a stock item after paying next day delivery, no tracking information was provided. The cross bars shipped were the wrong items, took them 4 days to finally accept the issue and have them collected, they tried to claim the cross bars had a cosmetic change from the manufacturer. Was assured at the time that a refund was issued to my account even although I didn’t request a refund, I just wanted the cross bars that I had ordered. Repeated phone calls to ascertain refund status were met with usual “yes it has been issued”. After 6 days and no refund in my account tried to speak to a Customer Service Manager, apparently they don’t have such a person, even asked to speak with their Managing Director, he was “unavailable”. Eventually was informed that the refund had not been issued and had to wait a further 5 days for the refund. Was then promised they would investigate and offer me a discount on the correct bars. After a few days they claimed the original bars I ordered didn’t fit my vehicle and offered no resolution or discount. Obtained the bars from another company that sells Mountain Top accessories, they arrived the next day fully tracked and fitted in 30 minutes with no issues. I wouldn’t even buy a washer from this mob, they would eventually ship a bolt and then claim it was a “cosmetic change”, use this company at your peril.
