United Kingdom | 10 May 2019Have a truckman fitted on my new amarok. Previous amarok had a 6year old alpha top before i px and I can honestly say it was better after 6 years than this truckman after a couple of months. VW have truckman approved and i wanted to keep in with VW with the truck being new. It's been back 3 times, with locking/catch and light problems. The catches are wearing when it shuts so poorly, the rear door is that flimsy it struggles pushing over the latch. Rubbers and seals are now showing signs of wear due to this. The sliding windows move so rough and the overall canopy seems poorly and cheaply finished. After returning home from vw tonight for the 3rd time and finding out the catches are still not working correctly, I will be going down different routes as this simply isn't right. Worse part of it is the lid is pretty much only used at a weekend if I'm lucky, could only imagine if it was used constantly that it would not last the test of time.

United Kingdom | 09 April 2019I have dealt with Truckman couple of times now and I find them very helpful, especially since I try to fit stuff myself. Even stuff like electrics they are happy to pass on information. They get my vote. Colin Keilloe

United Kingdom | 02 April 2019I purchased a new Navara with a Grand Truckman top fitted (My choice as I didn't like how the Nissan unit looked) and was initially surprised by how poor quality the top was for the price. The fit and finish of the roof bars is substandard, and the side windows feel like they are going to break every time you open them. After 2 years the central locking failed, and one of the rear door latches has broken off the body of the door, the door material is very thin where these attach. I contacted customer services only for them to blame me for not maintaining the unit properly!! That is not a response you expect given they had not even viewed the unit or the faults. The lock had been oiled regularly but after investigation it appears a small spring fitted in the unit had failed, after several miserable phone calls and e-mails I purchased a new locking mechanism, and have just left the latch broken as the door still shuts and locks. When I replace the truck in a year I will certainly not be getting another Truckman top fitted. They only get 2 stars because the top has kept my gear dry for a couple of years.

United Kingdom | 12 March 2019Got charged £60 for an inner door handle which is nothing more than piece of plastic that would fit in the palm of your hand. Weighed probably 50g and was sent via courier and labelled as 20kg. No wonder the cost of delivery was £11. Seems that once they have sold you a product they feel they can charge astronomical prices if anything goes wrong because you can’t go anywhere else for replacement parts. Certainly won’t be buying anything from Truckman again and would advise anyone to avoid them. Not worth the risk, something is bound to go wrong at some point and they’ll charge you a ridiculous amount for parts to fix it.

United Kingdom | 23 February 2019I had Truckman hardtop fitted at time of purchase of my Nissan Navara. After a couple of months handle became faulty. Contacted selling dealer who were not helpful at all. Then contacted Sophie @ Truckman customer services who got me a new handle sent out next day under warranty and even provided me with a YouTube link to fitting it! Highly recommended!

United Kingdom | 18 January 2019Having bought a 3 year old Amarok with a Truckman top, I have reached out twice to Truckman for help and advice. Both times they have been very helpful and informative. The second time I asked for a local dealer to me to help sort a rattle out, they asked for photos, and quickly came back saying the hood needed moving back a little as it was not in the right position. So I moved it and the rattle has gone! Accurate advice and a no cost fix to an annoying rattle - they know their products very well!

United Kingdom | 09 January 2019After being told by Toyota that I couldnt get a new seal for my 7-8 year old truckman top (and that I would have to have a new top fitted), I contacted Truckman, within 10 minutes I had ordered a new seal for a very reasonable price and it is being delivered next day. Fantastic customer service, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

United Kingdom | 04 January 2019Have a Truckman luxury hardtop fitted to my 65 plate series 5 Mitsubishi L200 from new. As others have mentioned on here numerous times it is leaking like a sieve through the sliding side windows at the top. Visible drips can be seen coming through when it is raining into the bed and over the wheel arch. You can visibly see the foam gasket has deteriorated where the windows meet the canopy body and the foam seal doesn’t look very robust. Either it is leaking through the window seals or somehow tracking down the roof bars to that point. As another reviewer has mentioned my roof bars have never been used either. Somewhat defeats the point of having a canopy/hardtop with this issue. May aswell leave tools in the back and risk the rain! I understand the warranty is directly through Mitsubishi but others should be made aware of quality issues like I have experienced before shelling out substantial money on purchasing a Truckman luxury hardtop. Mitsubishi has refuted my warranty claim arguing over the 3 year warranty that Truckman offers. After lots of posting on Twitter Truckman replied and apologiesed about the issue and said they would contact Mitsubishi to resolve. Still have not had anything to say of a resolution from either company. How are tradesmen like myself meant to keep ££££s worth of tools in the back of the truck when it is leaking in at the same rate as the rainfall and filling the back? Who would pay for water damaged electrical tools. Not Mitsubishi or Truckman I doubt!

United Kingdom | 27 November 2018We purchased a brand new Nissan Navara with a Truckman Luxury Hard Top fitted. Initially we had severe water ingress through the seals of the Truckman window (at the bulkhead end). Although Truckman replaced the whole Truckman top earlier this year, we are again experiencing similar problems. In addition to this the Truckman tailgate central locking mechanism is temperamental. Despite regular lubrication it often does not lock/unlock with the Truck's remote central locking system. So far this year, the problems directly related to the Truckman Luxury Hardtop issues noted above, have cost our business 3 full days whilst we have had to take our vehicle in to the dealership to be assessed and repaired. The Truckman has been assessed again and new parts have been ordered and will be fitted this week. Fingers crossed! Customer service has been satisfactory from Truckman.

United Kingdom | 14 November 2018I can't give truckman a complete review yet as I am having issues with my 2nd canopy.I purchased a 17 plate L200 with a canopy. It had several defects and I sent photos to truckman who told me to go to Mitsubushi which I did and it was changed under the warranty following a report from mitsubushi so far so good..the 2nd has water ingress into the headlining which mitsubishi believe is coming in from the roof bar more concerning is the repeated occurrence of cracks in the rear tail gate in the same place as the previous canopy The 2nd canopy was inspected on the 12th of this month so I am waiting on the fedback

United Kingdom | 06 November 2018Some years ago I bought a new Classic hardtop for Nissan Navara. There was a problem with fitting as the vehicle had a fixed ladder bar. Vehicle model was clearly stated on order. I asked Truckman for advice but got no response, had to modify the vehicle myself to make it fit. They did use my email address to start spamming me with marketing emails however. During my ownership I was disappointed with the product. Build quality was poor; the reinforcement in the roof was off centre and the tailgate bad; despite the specified regular lubrication the lock soon failed and the latching mechanism which was badly staked together regularly fell apart. The riveted housing had to be dismantled to repair this which was just as well as it was also falling apart. I replaced the rivets with screws. Finally bought a new latch mechanism from Truckman which got me back on the spam list... Fortunately a better quality compatible lock assembly is available elsewhere. The front window leaked because it had been badly fitted. I recently bought a newer vehicle which has a Classic hardtop fitted. Quality is no better - internal flowcoating badly done with missed patches, bottoms of side mouldings curved not straight. I had to remove two of the tie down points to paint the shell, found the plastic threads were stripped by overtightening. I suspect but can't prove that this was done at the factory, it would match the general build quality. [Edit - forgot to mention that the bottom of the tailgate was loose due to a missing rivet, same issue the old one had.] I attempted to order new tie downs from Truckman but had no response. Probably find I am back on the spam list again. Summary: product poor quality, customer service non existent. Will look for an alternative in future. [Edit: this review was published on 6th November, Truckman immediately contacted me through Trustpilot asking for my contact details which I provided. To date they have not contacted me.] [Edit: just had a phone call from them - they will replace it. Rating upgraded accordingly.]

United Kingdom | 14 September 2018Having reached the end of my tether with my useless Nissan dealership I contacted Truckman directly through their website to see if I could find a solution for a problem with my hardtop and central locking. I received a personal reply to my email from Sophie (even before the usual automated holding reply email turned up). After 2 email exchanges with another helpful member of staff called Julie to diagnose the problem and for me to provide the hardtop serial number details, Truckman have now sent me a replacement part out under warranty. I am currently awaiting delivery of the part but so far from a customer service perspective I cannot fault them, thank you for surprising me! Nissan could perhaps take note on how to run a business to serve customers!

United Kingdom | 21 August 2018Great customer service with excellent product knowledge. Truckman managed to rectify a fitting issue that the Ford dealership and their contractor had struggled with for over 4 months. Here's a Tip If you want a Truckman product (and why wouldn't you) get Truckman to fit it. Their knowledge and expertise are well worth the trip. Many thanks to Sophie, Bob and Marty for all their help. Kind regards Paul wilcock

United Kingdom | 10 August 2018I had an issue with the fitting of the top to a Nissan Navara, the dealership had made a complete mess of the fitting. The top was to far forward, they had not fitted the clear plastic paint protector to the tailgate and the brackets that hold the top down were loose. Having no faith in the dealership I contacted Truckman who responded quickly to the images I sent of the fitting and they arranged for me to go the next day and have the top re-fitted. Many thanks to Sophie at Truckman and Graeme at Vanarama for their assistance, great job and customer service. Paul (essex)
