I had two engineer visits to my 23 year old Miele washing machine; one to diagnose and one to fit two new suspensions for the drum. Both engineers were friendly and gave me plenty of advice to keeping the old machine for a while longer. A lovely, trustworthy business, many thanks to all concerned.

As promised I received a call from the operative telling me when he would be arriving and subsequently the problem with my washing machine was sorted in record time. I was delighted with the excellent service.

Dean / Ian sorted the heating problem very quickly to my satisfaction, two very nice chaps, would recommend them to my friends, needing work done on their machines.

Initial appointment was next day and engineer phoned in advance of visit. I already had the washing machine out with panels removed to give full access to the components of the machine, so diagnosis was quick and took less than 15 minutes. The engineer was polite and efficient and diagnosed that the motor and the main PCB board had failed, and that it would not be economical to repair with new parts. I sourced my own parts (some new, some used) and contacted Glotech to see if they would fit the items as they say that a return visit to fit parts is included in the fixed £95.94 fee. In their terms & conditions they say they may install parts they don’t procure directly, but it is at their discretion. As the initial call out was so short due to me removing the machine, I did not expect a warranty to be provided, and Glotech’s Customer Promise to help save items from going to landfill, I was hoping that they would fit the parts (which is a 10-15 minute job), however they refused to do this (as is their right in their terms and conditions) unless I paid another £95.94 fee. Needless to say I’ll fit the parts myself as it’s a simple job, but I was left wondering if they will only return to fix new parts they supply, how does the cost of the parts they supply vary from procuring them directly. Overall I was a little disappointed as the engineer time would be exactly the same, and I hate sending good items to landfill. Next time I will select a company that has a lower call out and diagnosis fee, then decide whether to pay for a return call out and fix. A polite and professional company, just fell short of my expectations regarding fixing rather than writing off items that are repairable if you can find the right parts.
