Like all the other reviews on here, absolutely dreadful experience. The customer service standard is horrible. The company don’t care because it’s a franchise so it doesn’t affect them. I know it’s not always possible to avoid using a particular estate agent if you want to buy the house they are selling, but I’d go to the ends of the Earth to avoid Northwood.

Absolutely pathetic company - I am talking about the Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes branch, arrogant and rude staff that do not are about tenants or landlords alike. They eat your money alive. WARNING - Do not join unless you want a hassle full life.

Northwoods of Bolton have done an excellent job selling my property, Lauren couldn't do enough for me, she truly went above and beyond to the last minute of my sale.very professional service and I would highly recommend this company. Well done Lauren and Thank you.

Awful company. Rented from Northwood Milton Keynes. They're slow to respond, no care for tenants and had the audacity to attempt to take deposit money by accusing us of a leak that was reported and not repaired for over 6 weeks! Rude, ignorant and unprofessional.

Not only did I have a terrible experience when I rented from Northwood in 2016-17 (we were forced out of our property due to dangerous black mould that affected my partner who has a serious lung condition yet they had NO empathy and instead charged us an extra month's rent and supported the landlord as he painted over said mould to continue renting the flat - shocking) but 3 years on I am now being contacted by a third party because Northwood have shared my details with them incorrectly saying that I have "recently moved". I haven't lived in a Northwood property for 3 years and my details are being willingly shared to third party companies. Not happy at all! This is a breach of GDPR if you ask me!

Dreadful. Tennant for 5.5years now and they just get worse. Outstanding jobs for 6 months including rotting counter tops, leaking roof and broken lighting. DO NOT USE Northwood Stoke

I sold my flat in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, through Northwood. From start to finish, they were highly professional. Their sales representative, Matthew, was very skilled with the valuation and viewing processes and ensured CoVID guidelines were followed. A buyer offering 100% of the asking price was found and Tyler then took over the customer liaison function - another very professional member of staff with strong inter-personal skills. Enquiries were answered promptly and accurately, smoothing over what is inevitably a stressful period.

An experience I will never forget all for the wrong reasons! For David and Jess at Northwood oldham 1. Jess and David please refer to your company training guidelines and ensure you have completed all training. You have 0 people skills. 2.Ensure you are honest with your tenants as oppose to selling a bag of white lies. 3. Try answering a phone call or even responding to an email sooner than 6 months. 4. Read over the tenancy agreement yourself instead of giving false information. 5. Don't be quick to take peoples hard earned money only to dissappear when it comes to returning the holding deposit 6. Train staff to deal with tenant queries correctly rather than giving them mixed messages 7.Don't only start to reply to emails and phone calls once a tenant goes down the complaint route. 8. When a tenant is frustrated because you haven't fixed a problem that's now 6month old LISTEN and don't speak over them. 10. Dont make false promises keep your word 11. David instead of talking down at people over the phone use mannerisms 12. Jess maybe learn about about the property you will be showing to potential tenants instead of not knowing a thing about the house. The list could go on!!!!!!!! Terrible terrible agency. Northwood OLDHAM. Would not recommend to anyone!!!!!! 13. Jess we still await a response from you!.

Disgusting Service! This should be zero stars!! This is by far the worst service I have ever received! if you want to experience something as low as this then give them a ring! (if they pick up that is) Every time I had called them most of the time I never use to get through and when I did I use to explain why I am calling and the person on the other end says ‘I will get the team to call you back’ which I NEVER got whilst living in the rented property for the duration of 6 months. I have also sent out numerous emails which have also been ignored to! I have been dealing with two people from Northwood Oldham. The first is the person who signed me up. A lady called Jess who I now realised is very useless and selfish. She was very quick to reply when we were moving in, trying to send me all the documents to sign off, however any issues we had raised with her were never looked at, she just ignored us and gave us false hope that she will be sorting them out but never did!. I’m sure if she was in my situation, she would feel the same way. Why can’t people just be honest in the first place? Upon viewing the property there was a crack on the window. Jess mentioned to us that this will get fixed prior to us moving in (we have confirmation of this via email) 1 week later, 2 weeks later, 3 weeks later, numerous calls in between, no sign of her. Every time we call all they tell us is that ‘you will get a call back’. All they think about is getting someone in the property and they don’t care for anything else. They have no customer experience, you the customer are not the priority, there role is to deal with customers, and they will not deal with you appropriately. They just want to tie you in to a contract, once they got you in the property they don’t care. I am the type of person to never complain but this is just next level. I have wasted so much of my time calling them up and dealing with quires that they themselves should have resolved for me not me chasing up countless times. Especially if they agreed to resolve them! I have also been dealing with a clown called David, I say clown because I believe he does not know what he is doing and has no knowledge of what customer service is. Every time I had spoken to him, he is very rude on the phone; he has zero people skills. I am unsure how he got the job there as he is not fit for the job. I made it very clear that he shouldn’t be speaking with people like that and I won’t settle for it and then he toned himself down. The lack of professionalism is shocking! He kept referring me to the tenancy agreement for any issues I had, however upon checking the tenancy agreement nothing was mentioned on there that I needed help with. Just because he didn’t know the answer, he kept pointing me in the wrong direction because he didn’t want sort my issue out, then later ignored me. Why have a customer focused role when you a poor at it? Does the organisation not provide training? One issue I had was paying my rent (which I paid on time and always in full). I didn’t know how to pay my rent (I have never rented before). I assumed it would be taken via direct debit for the duration of the rental period as I have already given them my bank details. Upon calling Northwood David kept advising me ‘all details are on the tenancy agreement’ to Hell! Nothing is there regarding payments. I went through the agreement numerous times while I was on hold for ages upon calling them back. But I was told eventually that I need to transfer the money with the bank details they initially provided when I sent them a deposit. This is the level of service I am talking about. Why did I have to ring twice? When you already know the answer instead of referring me to the tenancy agreement which didn’t contain the process to pay the rent in the first place? Makes me wonder has he ever seen a tenancy agreement before, or does he even know what one is? Please avoid getting a property through them, it will be your worst nightmare! Even the landlord himself mentioned to me that he is stuck in a contract with them and he knows that the service they offer is ‘crap’ I hope in the future I never have to deal with them again!

Been renting through Northwood Liverpool (West Derby) for over 4 years now. They haven't put a foot wrong as far as I'm concerned. Rachel Yeo has been the agent looking after my tenancy and she's been fantastic. I always get a quick response to any query. Tenancy renewal reminders are always sent in good time instead of leaving things until the last minute which can be stressful. My boiler recently broke so I emailed Rachel Yeo on a Saturday evening. By Sunday afternoon the gas engineer had been out and resolved the issue. Very quick response which was sorely needed as it stopped working just as the cold weather hit! I'll keep renting through Northwood Liverpool until I buy my own home in the near future (which I may also use Northwood for). Cheers!

I used Northwood in Leeds to sell my property recently and would definitely recommend them. They were down to earth, genuine and honest, unlike most estate agents I have dealt with in the past. Matthew Housam in sales is a really down to earth and helpful guy and Tyler in sales progression is friendly and genuine - I would not hesitate to recommend them for conveyancing

We have had the absolute worst service from Northwood in Barnstaple. They moved us in with three children on a long term let, didn't fix the boiler after multiple complaints from us of no hot water, then told us the property is being sold and we need to vacate. They tried to keep us sweet with stories throughout our notice but have now completely turned against us, claiming we have adequate systems (boiler) within the house and that we were told before we moved in that it was for 6 months only due to the landlord wanting to sell. We would never have moved in having known this!! They have lied so much over the past year that we have been here, never mind the past few weeks. We are absolutely appalled at their heartlessness and disgusting behaviour. They then called us up to tell us they would be evicting some bad tenants from another property before Christmas and that we could move in to their home, and if we wanted to look at it to do a sneaky drive by. It later came to light that these tenants had actually handed their notice in 2 months before because of their bad service from Northwood! A special mention to Emma Barnett, who has done nothing but lied throughout our tenancy, and an extra special mention to Margaret Brickley, who has also done nothing but lie to us, but has gone the extra step today in posting our personal situation all over social media for the public to see. Well done on your professionalism and confidentiality, the worst business I have ever come across and I hope and pray that one day it will be put to an end so that others do not have to suffer like we and our children have. Shame on you.

Northwood Milton Keynes. Just to let property for the past 10+ years, but more recent years we had very poor service. The initial years were good, but a lack of communication, cover ups and lack of support in resolving issues was disappointing. Specifically we asked for inspection reports on our property and were refused these as they were 'confidential', we had a tenant who had a dog at the property, when we specifically stated 'no pets' and Northwood accused us of giving permission and when asked for them to prove this they advised the member of staff had moved on and they had taken our permission with them - complete lies! In the end they refused to provide the keys to our property back to us - refused entry to our own house - inexcusable!

I used Northwood Lettings Cheltenham and was lucky to be dealt with by a lovely girl called Milly brooks. I was in a hard situation having moved out my flat and the property I was due to move to falling through at the last minute. Me and my nine month old baby and I were having to share a bedroom in a friends house and pay to put all my stuff into storage. Milly couldn’t have been more understanding of our situation or prompt in finding us a property to move to within our limited budget and get all the paperwork etc pushed through as quickly as possible. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of their hands this property fell through due to the landlady pulling out at the last minute for personal reasons. Milly and her team went out of their way to secure us another property and get it within budget for us and turn it around within 24 hours and we are happily due to move next Saturday. I feel she has gone above and beyond to help us. She has been kind and empathetic yet thoroughly professional and great at keeping me in the loop and updated and reassured every step of the way. I would thoroughly recommend.

If I could give 0 stars I would this was by far the worst letting agent I have ever come across in my life we were messed about for weeks to find out today that our property has been given to some one else the lack of communication lack of knowledge and lack of professionalism these people have no idea what they’re doing will definitely never try and get a home with them and will definitely not be recommending them to anyone I’m beyond furious to the way our application has been handled AVOID AVOID AVOID the branch in Aberdeen

Northwood Wirral, Avoid avoid avoid my partner called up enquiring about a house to let and to book a viewing due to the pictures being completely inadequate in showing off the house only to be told by the manager that they do not accept viewing unless you apply first but she doesn’t feel we are viewing for the right reasons and us viewing would stop other people “who actually wanted to rent” viewing manager was very rude and abrupt on the phone. How else would you move into a property without viewing it? Baffling. I understand with these uncertain times it must be hard with certain guidelines but a bit of good customer service and friendly attitude may go a long way, considering all of these other reviews I think we dodged a bullet, disgusting.

Avoid. New Northwood office in Worthing. Gave them a try finding a tenant for the flat I let. Last tenants stayed six years and I wanted another long-term. Was told they had many people on the books and arranged five viewings for the first day it was free. New carpet and redecoration. New tenants are landlords moving to the area and looking to buy. How is that long-term? I challenged the salesman who had told me of ALL the people waiting, and he simply said that the other potential tenants were nowhere near as strong candidates - no s**t Sherlock! I know it's only been two weeks, but I'm having to prompt for transfer of the deposit, copy of the AST & inventory (which was bad, not covering things). And now people are sleeving my questions to other departments. It would be nice to get a statement of account too, to know what I've paid for!

I wish I could give negative stars. The WORST service we have ever had in our lives. The owner (Chris) even refused to talk to us or remove the unedible burger from our bill. I have been a regular for 10+ years. Sadly, i will NEVER return. I have never been treated worse by a server and owner. They swore at us even though THEY were in the wrong!!!! Absolutely awful!!!!

Couldn't have a worst experience with the branch in Peterborough. They don't follow their own contract as they entered in the flat I was renting without my permission and in other circumstance they entered with less then the 24h warning. Do not even consider them, is my advice. They will use you and abuse from your rights and change the rules to suit them.
