I love how I can go online and find/select the tutor of my choice. Other companies want to sell me a package and select the tutor for me. With Wyzant I am in control - I can make my own selection, set the schedule together with the selected tutor, and do as much or as little tutoring as needed. Additionally, I have found terrific tutors who I am completely happy with!

If you can find the right tutor it can be a great experience, the only problem is finding that tutor. Shifting through the dozens and dozens of tutors can be frustrating. There are many tutors who will say just about anything in terms of seeing if you answers are right. But there are also tutors who will let you know everything you need to know just by mentioning the topic and title of the class.

Appreciate the professionalism and genuine caring of our current tutor. She's a good fit for my son. She is timely and well prepared.

Excellent class , good to practice conversational French which it is what I needed .

Overall, Wyzant is a great resource. However, screen sharing, lesson recording and document sharing functionalities need to be improved (or added). This is critical for technical software lessons. For my daughter's Maya 3D lessons we had to use complicated methods to capture screen recordings, and used DropBox accounts to share files since the instructor could not share controls in the screenshare.

Wyzant has been very helpful with my studies.

My daughter had Charles and he was Great. I called Wyzant after she bombed one of her college Chem exams. He met with her right away and she got a B on her next exam. She needed at least a B- for her major. She ended up with a B and we all were very happy. My daughter told me that Charles really knew his stuff and he was very easy to follow.

Easy sign up process after finding tutors. Both tutors were responsive and available within a day, not to mention they were both fantastic and highly knowledgeable on the topic. I will use again when the need arises. Recommended!

Site is very easy to use

At first I was overwhelmed by the number of questions that I had to address but it all makes sense to me now. It really helped to narrow potential tutors for the subjects I was looking for and in the geography I was searching for. The quality of the tutors that I had contact with were very professional. I would highly recommend Wyzant and am very happy with the results that have been achieved by the people in my immediate family that have used it. I would like to see an improvement in being able to “save” tutors during my search. Otherwise I end up sending them a message (even if I’m still looking) just to be able to find them again.

Great Physics 1 Tutor Hsiao tutored my son for the AP Physics 1 algebra-based test. My son's school teacher was not really teaching the course in depth enough to understand the material for the AP test so we decided to hire a tutor. Hsiao is very clear and very knowledgeable, but has obviously thought about teaching methods that work best. My son tends to work quickly and sloppily so Hsiao slowed down the pace to make sure the material was well understood. He would often let my son first try to figure things out himself and then guided him through the correct answers, rather than just showing him how to do it. I felt like this helped my son really learn how to do the problems. As a bonus, Hsiao had really good tips for study habits that were very helpful. Highly recommend Hsiao!
