Following a retinal haemorrhage in my right eye in mid-2020 I underwent a vitrectomy at St Paul’s in Liverpool. Though my sight was fully restored I was warned that a cataract would develop within a year. In January this year therefore, with my vision beginning to deteriorate, I consulted Mr Quah, who confirmed that cataract surgery was needed in the right eye. However, he suggested that I consider surgery in both eyes, so that lenses could be inserted which would essentially restore my distance vision completely. I have since had the two operations, a fortnight apart, and I am already astounded at the results. Having worn spectacles for over 60 years I now find that I need them only for the very closest work - perhaps closer that 15 inches . So I have been really impressed, not just by Mr Quah’s surgical skill, but very much by his friendly, open and reassuring manner. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing ophthalmic advice and surgery.

I went to see Mr Quah for corrective eye surgery. He is very thorough in his approach and explained my situation in great detail, putting me at ease from the offset. His knowledge and professionalism is truly outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Quah to all my friends and family.

Mr Quah is a very skilled practitioner who is able to explain, very clearly, how his treatment works and the resulting benefits. He went through the surgical procedure required and the after care regime. I found him to be trustworthy and honest, a very approachable man who was happy to discuss all aspects of my treatment and I am very happy with the outcome. My vision has improved greatly and I no longer require glasses. Mr Quah also performed the same surgery for my husband in 2018 and he had a similar outcome, eyesight restored ,no glasses. We would both be happy to recommend Mr Quah to anyone who requires lens replacement or site correction by a very skilled and professional practitioner.

I have recently had my second eye correction surgery carried out by Mr S, Goel and I can say without question that the surgery done has changed my life. I must say that St Hugh's hospital offers a level of care that is nothing short of superb with a lovely environment and helpful as well as friendly staff. Mr Goel inspires confidence as I am not so brave when it comes to having surgery done to my eyes but his professional and informative manner certainly put me at ease and this is backed up by all the staff I had the pleasure of meeting during my two visits to St Hugh's. The bottom line is that no matter how impressed I am with everyone at St Hugh's, the end result has to be right and to that end, I am totally delighted with the standard of care I recieved, the result thanks to Mr Goel and his team is excellent as I now can see very clearly. I have recently had eye lens replacement surgery successfully. Prior to the appointment I was anxious about the operation particularly as it was for both my eyes. However all the staff were friendly and reassuring making me feel very comfortable and at ease. Dr Goel was recommended to me hence my choice of clinic, he is very knowledgeable, caring and clearly an expert in his field. I would like to thank all the staff at the Hesslewood Clinic for their help, support and would thoroughly recommend them to family and friends. I just wish I had made this decision earlier.

I had my eye surgery with Mr Goel at the Eye Correction Centre in January 2021 and I am absolutely ecstatic with the results. From my first appointment, Mr Goel was friendly, informative and extremely knowledgeable about the range of options available to me. I chose to have SMILE surgery and within 24 hours of my treatment, I was able to see with 20:20 vision. A month later, I have better vision than my previous corrected vision. While there was some dryness and irritability over the few days after my treatment, this was extremely minimal and everything was explained to me beforehand by Mr Goel so I had no concerns. I couldn't recommend SMILE and Mr Goel enough. A special shout out to Sue in the admin team as well, who always went out of her way to answer any questions I had extremely promptly. Fantastic experience, for an operation

I was seen by Mr Quah as an emergency very quickly In fact the same day He was so very calm & reassuring, No fuss. Diagnosed, Treatment provided immediately. When I returned a week later he found that I had the beginning of cataracts No one else has ever picked this up I am very grateful for all the treatment, advice & ongoing recommendations for my eye problems

Under the Covid rules in force at the times of my 2 procedures, everything was done smoothly and efficiently. Staff were friendly and informative. The surgical work was painless with no after effects. Dr. Goel was very pleasant and explained all that was involved and the possible down side of the procedure, but all went well. I am completely satisfied with the result.

Mr Say Aun Quah was my Consultant for Cataract removal. From start to finish I had complete confidence in Mr Quah as he was so calm & reassuring as he explained the proceedure. I am 76 years old and was diagnosed with Fuchs' Dystrophy in August 2019. I have had the great pleasure of being Mr Quah's patient for over 12 months as previous attempts to treat my corneal damage were unsuccessful. I liked Mr Quah immediately - and that is really important, because unlike the NHS, I only ever see Mr Quah so a relationship builds and becomes quite close. An important factor in building a relationship is the ability to listen; Mr Quah does listen - both to the words and the non-verbal factors. I was fortunate enough to receive a new cornea (PK) in May which he performed with great skill, good humour, attention to detail and very good after care. I see him regularly to check progress on the graft; if there is a problem he - usually through his excellent PA, Mandy - will sort out an urgent appointment. Eyes are so very precious that having total confidence in your practitioner is paramount. I consider that I am privileged to have Mr Quah as my consultant and would recommend him unconditionally.

Very happy and pleased fast simple everything explained

I had successful Peripheral Laser Iridotomy back in December 2020 with Sid Goel to correct Narrow Angle Glaucoma. Right from my first consultation through to treatment and follow up, I found him to be absolutely lovely. Very knowledgeable and professional but so friendly and took the time to explain everything in detail, of which I really appreciated. I really couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone else who like me has eye problems. I would definitely call upon on Sid again if ever I need further treatment that I do know!
