Gas bottle was empty when was meant to be supplied full, toaster did not work, vehicle overheated due to low coolant early on in the trip (obviously not checked prior to us picking up), battery failed and had to be replaced during rental period.

3000km without any complains!

Free upgrade due to a no show on return, However the toilet and shower smelt awful and was unusable, it also made the van smell, the gas tank door for the holder for the cooker lock didn’t work, and kept opening, we had to buy tape to keep it closed. We also have not received our bond refund yet and it’s been over 2 weeks, ye tee were told it’s all okay, we are sending it back.

Best value for money we could find in NZ, by far. Totally kept their promise. We had the happy sleeper which was a reliable car, had everything we needed and the bed was good too. Great customer service and friendly staff, too! Thank you to lucky rentals.

Rented a freedom camper for 3-4 weeks in NZ. Auckland to Christchurch. Mid December to mid January. Unfortunately there were some defects which needed to be fixed. + Eventually we did get some compensation. - The 24/7 support paid for, was due to holidays not available. - Not all defects were fixed/fixable. - Quite slow response times more than 50% of the times.

Camper van completely worn out. Not worth what you charge. Only thing I can say is it didn’t break down.

The whole experience of renting the van flowed smoothly. After making the booking some questions I had were answered quickly by e-mail. The pick up shuttle at the airport was on time. At the office, we had to wait for the van to be taken and topped up with petrol ( would have liked that already to have been completed ), but otherwise ready to go. Van was clean and comfortable and well equipped with what we needed ( though a chopping board and a washing up bowl would have been appreciated ).The bed was big and very comfortable and easy to set up. No mechanical issues. Drop off and shuttle back to airport was easy. Our trip was terrific, because NZ is so great to explore, we had wonderful weather and the van made it so easy to travel around.

Ich hatte 3 Wochen den Lucky Rover gemietet und wir waren zu zweit darin unterwegs. Die Einführung durch Chantal war überaus freundlich und ausführlich, auch die Dame im Office war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Camper ist zwar alt und hat seine Gebrauchsspuren, war sauber bei der Übergabe, hatte auch Duftsäckchen an verschiedenen Stellen und es hat alles funktioniert. Nur das Stromkabel war leider defekt ,was haben wir erst am Campingplatz bemerkten, aber eine kurze Mail ins Office, dann war geklärt, dass wir ein neues kaufen sollen ,der Betrag wurde uns dann wieder bei Abgabe des Campers gutgeschrieben. Die Kochausrüstung ist sehr spartanisch aber man kommt zurecht, muss sich halt noch Messer und Schneidebrett kaufen .Es gibt einen Wasserkocher, Toaster, 2 kleine Töpfe, eine kleine Pfanne, Essgeschirr und Besteck für bis zu 4 Personen ,aber keine Messer zum schneiden. Ich gebe zu ich war durch die schlechten Bewertungen auf der Homepage zuerst verunsichert, kann aber für meinen Fall sagen, dass ich wieder bei lucky rentals mieten würde, es ist low budget, daher darf man auch keine zu hohen Erwartungen haben, aber für das was wir gebucht hatten, waren wir sehr zufrieden. Bei der Rückgabe war die gleich Dame zuständig wie bei der Übernahme und sie war sehr freundlich und hat sich gefreut uns nochmal zu sehen. :) Der Shuttle zum Airport klappte auch perfekt.

Was everything we booked.

Our campervan leaked above the window and the electricity did not work properly. We had to spend a few hours at a workshop where it got fixed. Another negative point was the incredibly smelly linen.

We liked the service and speed and kindness with which the team got us on the road. The van itself was falling appart plus was dirty. Falling appart: 1/the key snapped on the second day 2/the left mirror couldn’t hold straight so we had no visibility on that side 3/the rubber rim around the sliding door was loose and dropping. Dirty: now that should be easy to address: just vacuum and sponge the thing between 2 customers please. Deep washing the seats wouldnt be too expensive nor a luxury either.

Camper van worked well, cheak in and cheak out was smooth, very nice staff would recommend

Vehicle was very reliable and comfortable, had everything we needed for 2 adults basing ourselves at camp grounds. Staff were helpful, went over and beyond for us.

When I picked up my car, the person who helped was not really friendly.. I had made the reservation starting at 9AM in the morning but my car wasn’t ready. Still needed to go to the carwash and be filled up with petrol. So I was annoyed because I had a tight schedule for the rest of the day. The person who helped me didnt explain anything about roadtolls, speeding, fines,… but when I was waiting on my car I could hear explain others so much more… Also about the car itselves, had to figure some things out myself. So the start was a little bumpy but all was good after. Returning was lovely, had the best person helping me which made pickup ‘better’. Maybe that one person just had a bad day…

Nous avons pu visiter tout les endroits que nous avions décidé. Le véhicule à très bien fonctionné Juste un souci de chauffage et de climatisation. En montagne sous la pluie on a eu froid et beaucoup d'humidité dans le véhicule Sinon votre prestation était très bien Ainsi que l'accueil et le professionnalisme de vos collaborateurs merci

The staff were great and pleasant, particularly Chantal. She made us laugh and had a great attitude. The vehicle was old and a bit run down but was comfortable to sleep in and had all the essentials. The dishes were a bit grubby and the glasses had some secretion in the bottom. It would be good to get the shuttle from the airport when you ring up upon your arrival but you have to wait for the one every hour. Over all the experience was great.

Positif : Check in et check out rapide et efficace. Accueil agréable Négatif : Van assez vieux avec du matériel de cuisine très usagers. La bouteille de gaz n'est pas compris dans la location. Le gps indispensable n'est pas compris Le van que nous avions choisi avait tendance à tanguer dans les virages.

mold in car, fridge stank, one of the doors didn't work, absolutely horrible experience.

The service stuff were very friendly and helpful!! We would choose again the luckyrentals !!!! Shower and toilet worked perfectly in the van. We couldn’t use the cooking, but that was not a luckyrentals problem, no caltex was able to refill the gasbottle (worker who could do it, had free or came the next day). We didn’t want to get frustrated so we bought a little gas stove which worked perfectly. We were satisfied and had a great holiday!!

Easy to get the camper van and to receaved information. Good services.
