As I had not a very great experience with other agencies in the past, before I started the process of vacating the premises, I was very sceptical, because I did not believe that an agency could be fair and refund the whole deposit for a perfectly cleaned flat left in perfect condition. The company’s agents are friendly and very helpful. The application and referencing process is relatively quick and easy to follow.

DJ Alexander was consistently terrible to work with. When we moved in we were only given 45 minutes to supply guarantors because our agent was on holiday and gave us no notice. Throughout my two year tenancy DJ was unresponsive, dismissing queries and issues even when they were unresolved. A representative came in person once for an inspection, and instead of reporting issues like a leaky tap or a broken lock, told us they didnt want to report the issues cause it would "take a long time to do the paperwork." The door fell off the hinges at some point (all the furniture in my flat was borderline broken) and DJ reported it the same day as "fixed," even though the door was still broken. I had to continue reporting things as broken until DJ finally got bothered enough to send someone to fix it. Whenever I would finally manage to contact a real human being about issues, they were often robotic, curt, unsympathetic, and would randomly stop replying to emails even though I would try to be polite, optimistic, and courteous. I will never let from DJ ever again.

I am a current DJ Alexander tenant and am leaving the property due to health issues and not any issue with flat . I have been worrying about the checkout procedure and the things that I need to sort and put in place to end the tenancy . So I called the office today to discuss the issue and was put through to Gemma in the Edinburgh office . I explained the situation as best I could and Gemma was brilliant she listened to my concerns , put my mind at ease and explained in detail what I could do to remedy the situation. I phoned close to closing time and even so there was no rush and she took the time to help me . I now feel much happier after the call and know exactly what I need to do . Gemma is truly a credit to DJ Alexander .
