United Kingdom | 01 December 2019I used their online service to buy an accessory. The item was delivered promptly, but with terrible damage to its packaging and interior. I approached them via email to find a solution and was met with disinterest. They placed the blame on their courier of choice (DPD), and suggested I should cover box damage with wrapping paper to disguise the damage. Don't bother with them - horrible customer service.

United Kingdom | 30 August 2019Buyer Beware - I purchased the Weber E-220 Classic BBQ for £350 and within 48 hours it arrived at my door. 2 days later I noticed a rival supplier was selling the exact same item for £250 and so I contacted Riverside to enquire if anything could be done. Having checked I was told a price match didn't apply, despite the serial number for both items being 46015074 however they could provide a refund if I was to arrange delivery back to them. Given the item weighs in excess of 50kg it has cost £55 to return the item to Riverside. Please ensure you check all other suppliers before committing to buy, as the item will arrive after 1 working day and it is your responsibility to return the item if it isn't faulty.

United Kingdom | 27 August 2019Sharp practice and misleading website - whilst shopping for a Weber charcoal BBQ online two different suppliers were running a Weber promotion for a free poultry roaster dependent upon stock availability - the supplier I originally wanted to place an order with updated their website instantly once the promotion had finished so I ordered my BBQ from Riverside instead as they were still showing the promotion on their website - when my order was delivered the poultry roaster hadn't been included - I had to call Riverside twice before managing to speak with someone about this as they had failed to return my call, when I finally spoke with somebody from Riverside they did not acknowledge that it was bad practice for their website to be still advertising the promotion when it had ended, and that when placing my order the item was not showing as unavailable. They offered me 10% discount off my next order but refused to supply me with a free poultry roaster - I will never use the company again.

United Kingdom | 28 July 2019Absolutely disgusting service from Patrick at Riverside Garden centre.I purchased a webber one touch charcoal Bbq from him on the 19th of June only to receive the box with parts missing , charcoal catcher brackets , legs assembly brackets to name but a few. When we called the garden centre to notify them of this we were met with sheer rudeness, unprofessionalism and lack of interest. We were asked to photograph from the manual the parts that were missing and email them over which we obliged. Fast forward a week and we received a parcel that contained NONE of the parts that we asked for or that were even missing to begin with , we received a handle! So we called patrick again this time to complain and we were met by attitude not fit for a retail employee let alone a manager i asked how a handle was sent out and not the missing parts that we photographed to which his reply was " mistakes can happen ". no apology what so ever. We asked for a refund which was refused point blank, we asked for the missing parts to be sent over night and again he refused his reply being " its not his fault and it will take as long as it takes for the parts to arrive " we asked why he couldn't simply send out another bbq and collect the faulty unit which he said was not the company policy. Again we asked for a refund and his words were " NO - we would have to wait a further 9 days for the parts to arrive in stock " . Why should we have to wait three weeks for parts to arrive when he has ample supply of these weber BBq's in stock and he can send one and collect the other? His attitude and like many other reviews have stated is disgusting and not fit for management. The aftersales service is terrible and i will be taking this matter and complaint further. *** AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS ***

(Not large) no mention on website that it was considered a bulky delivery etc. Got a msg from courier pre delivery saying bulky delivery and would be delivered curbside. Spoke to riverside who didn’t care. Kept saying it’s in their delivery terms, yes but since when was a bbq a bulky delivery?. Luckily the driver helped me into property but if he hadn’t riverside would have happily charged me redelivery for a different day. Disgusting.

United Kingdom | 16 April 2019I purchased a Weber BBQ from here, whilst I got told (via there website) it was next day delivery, it actually took 4 days! The company dispatched the order but TNT their delivery choice informed me that they were instructed to deliver on the 15th (purchase was made on the 11th). That being said it’s arrived and all seems ok! I would buy again from Riverside but I do think they need to look at their delivery company.

United Kingdom | 20 March 2019We bought 6 outdoor planters ( Scheurich ) costing approximately £400 from Riverside garden centre after seeing them on display and they were delivered home. We spent a long time with the sales advisor (the owner) making sure we knew how to fill them and look after them as we wanted to place artificial plants in them. However, despite following their advice we now have water filling up in the planters as there is not enough drainage for the water to escape. I contacted Riverside regarding this and sent them photos of the drainage hole and they then informed me that we would need to cut a hole in each planter to allow the water to drain adequately. This is now very difficult as the planters are very heavy and so we are left with a big drainage issue. Why not tell us that the planters need more holes to be cut for drainage beforehand??? I complained to Riverside and they simply would not acknowledge that they had not advised to cut holes in the planters. Surely, this should be passed on to customers to avoid the issue we have. Despite an email to the owners and the manager there was no apology and they were just not helpful at all. I did ask for compensation and was simply passed on to the manufacturer's representative in the UK who was not helpful and did not accept any responsibility of not informing customers. I am very disappointed and certainly will not return so customer lost for life I am afraid Riverside. I ADVISE YOU TO TAKE NOTICE RIVERSIDE...

United Kingdom | 12 November 2018I have ordered several things from Riverside and delivery was quick and communication good. I have also been in store on several occasions and attended a few BBQ cooking demos - the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and the range of products in store is by far superior than any other garden center I usually go to. The owner Russell is Absolutely fantastic. The only issue for me is its a good 2-3 hour drive away so can be a 6 hour round-trip as I'm near Dorset/Hampshire - but the range of Weber stock is excellent. If only more like Riverside could open nationwide. Cooking Demos are a fun way to see what you can do on the BBQs you purchase - its not all sausages and burgers - thanks to Riverside I use a rotisserie, do pizzas etc. I would like to attend the hands on events but sadly its too far for us to go this year. The range of products online are excellent. You can always call for advice. Weber/Treager are not cheap but are good quality.
