United States | 07 March 2020i’ve been a hair club client for 30 years started the program With Hair Club when it was only 10 years old in New York City on Madison Avenue Customer service and customer relations was at its peak at that time Sy Sperling did a great job in handling clients. On my visit March 6th to the Staten Island office my contract renews March 24, I was forced to pay a service fee because my services ran out in April, asked to wave the fee but was refused, I told them my contract renews in only 3 weeks , didn’t matter, I had to get up from my chair while my stylist was still doing my hair and give them my credit card they couldn’t wait till I was done because it was Friday and the manager had left and there was no one to speak to you and the front desk was very indifferent Would that happen with Sy? I don’t think so, there’s been other problems to with appointments,Customer relations has changed drastically since I started very sad. Owners need to be more hands-on with their franchises know what’s going on in the office Peter!

United States | 04 March 2020Recently one of their supervisors started a "Go Fund Me' fundraising page because he is going through a tough time in life with a family member and needs a lot of help. I was amazed about Hairclub's response to help one of their own .This is something I've never witnessed before and is truly inspirational. Not only do they help thousands of people's lives by giving them back their hair and boosting their self esteem but they also set the standard to what an exceptional company stands for by taking care of their own employees!

United States | 25 February 2020This was one of the worst experiences of my 68 year old life! Every time you walk into their office it's like voluntarily subjecting yourself to a used-car salesman. Their whole goal is not to work to satisfy you, but to sign you up to one of their monthly, bi-monthly, semi-monthly, or some kind of regularly scheduled program. Until you sign a contract for one of their programs it's hard to impossible to get them to answer any of your questions. If I asked them what the weather was like outside, they'd say it depends on what program I sigh up for. They were constantly trying to get me to sign a contract for one of their programs. They got my hair color wrong twice (it's still wrong) and never refunded my money. They styled my hair the way they wanted to (twice) - not the way I asked to have it cut (twice). The second time I went there, I went into a private room, and one of their salesmen came in and gave me a lecture on tipping. How to tip, when to tip, and how much I'm expected to tip each time I come there. 15% was OK, but 20% or higher was expected. It doesn't matter what kind of service they perform (which was extremely poor to none) you're still expected to tip them! I went to their office in Tukwila, WA, and I'd recommend you stay as far away from them as you can! All they care about is your money - and definitely not their customers satisfaction!

Canada | 20 February 2020The staff at the Burnaby location are excellent, unfortunately the product is not. When they say it is so natural you want to believe it. But think twice is glueing and taping hair to your head natural ??. If you are anything more than a couch potato this product will not work for you. They say it last a month, I never got more than a week before it let go. And when I was Physically active less than 4 days. If you want to play any sport that requires a helmet, forget it, I don't care what you are told there is no current product that will hold. The service is not cheap and most definitely not worth the money. The other thing is, you must live close because you will be required to attend many appointments as this is not a do it yourself product. I wanted this to work so bad, but is was a colossal failure.

United States | 19 February 2020I have been a member for over 15 years, love my HC in Plymouth, Ma. The management & stylists are like family, most caring, compassionate people! They do everything they can to provide me with the best service, BUT they are given the products, shampoos, conditioners, etc to provide us,the clients. They are given the hair to provide to Us, the clients!! Products have been horrible the last yr or so, which as we know is pricey enough,but when the products screw up your system, gets dry, unmanageable, to the point I have actually been asked for the 1st time,if I am wearing a wig!!! NOW, the owner is raising our rates!!! Excuse me! Really!! Shouldn't you make sure ALL the products are doing as promised, that we as clients are being provided everything as agreed too!!! I have heard there are "new" products, shampoos, etc being provided, but honestly, I have been afraid to try them to put more $$$ out there!! I am elderly, living on ssdi!! How can you justify raising rates, with lousy products!!!

United States | 27 December 2019I have been a client now for 32 years and so can honestly say that I have spent more money than almost any other person reviewing HCM. Obviously I’m still a client so have been overall satisfied through the years but let me share with you what I have noticed over the last year or two. The products have clearly gone down hill and I’ve had to completely replace the shampoo with my own this past year. The conditioner is excellent but the shampoo after about a week is almost impossible to massage through or comb through the hair. Thank God for the conditioner. My 2 biggest complaints though would be with the recent chemicals I’m being told that are used to perm or wave the system. They create a strong smell which NEVER really goes away during the weeks. I would describe them as smelling a bit like Fritos. My wife notices this smell in between visits. Mind you I am METICULOUS about keeping my system clean and have been a long time client so I KNOW more than any stylist, when my system has a different smell. THIS needs to change. Lastly Hcm needs to get some videos and actual clients willing to show off that new system they are offering. There is NOTHING I can look at and have had to order it BLIND hoping that it will look good. Dont pitch it unless you can Demonstrate it looking good on someone’s head. You pay and still waiting for hair! Not happy! They shaved my head so I’m stuck! The girls working there are great it’s just upper management are horrible!

United States | 02 December 2019Really great service. And really great solutions. Being in the military, there is a lot of stress. A lot of members (including myself) have dealt with a significant loss of hair. First dealt with a receding hairline by the time I was 20 years old. It slowly started to thin and sort of fixed it, but it got kind of worse. Hair Club offered a pretty good deal and hair helping me out right now. I have been a member since August. Great service. However, my only thing is do research in what you want to get out of hairclub. I rushed into it and tried out xstrands + instead of the reagular xstrands offer. They put a toupee on my head and it looked weird on me. It was also very uncomfortable. So I just switched to the regular xstrand package. It wasn't right for me because it didn't solve the issue I had with hair loss. It hid it. And I'm a reservist, so I could be deployed. Still a great service and option to look into. Just do research, watch some videos, and ask a lot of questions to see what's right for you before rushing like I did. Either way, it's still working out the way I wanted it. And if there are issues, speak with the consultants. I'd still recommend it though.

I think Apolonia is the BEST! She really goes above and beyond for me. She is very professional, polite, and does great job every time. She Is awesome at what she does. All my vista with have been great! I highly recommend her.

I have used almost every stylist they have and let me tell you they all are awesome. Iris is my girl love her. Darien is so knowledgeable and awesome Teri Karen all of them. So if your thinking about doing something. Don’t hesitate. Give them a call. You won’t be sorry.

United States | 05 November 2019I have been a customer for almost 3 years now, the first two years were amazing my stylist (who is not longer with the company) was beyond amazing, she was very informative and made me feel comfortable with wearing a wig. I am very private person i don`t share a lot of my problems with anyone, she knew I`m a nurse and how insecure i felt with not having a full head of hair. I started loosing my hair at 14 years of age and couldn't afford most treatments out there, i came across the add for Hair club. I went in for the consult and the staff was amazing. I now came to know that i cant have the hair that i want, because if its not brown or black it wont last past a month!!! I always had black hair and i always wanted to have blonde hair something that hear in Hair club i cant have. I went through the process of being humiliated at work with a big chunk of the center of my wig fell out and all you saw was a white patch of hair! i called them and they said they dont know what happened but its because i wanted a color on my hair. I started to cry because the add says have the hair you always wanted but that is not the case. I went back they gave me someone elses hair that only lasted a month and the same thing happened, i document everything dates and with who i talk to. I have the Ruby plan because paying $539 a month for something i wasn't satisfied didnt seem worth it, the ruby plan brought me down to $339 monthly. Given that fair is fair my stylist do a good job at putting a band aid over what management does. I had gone in on August and advised the stylist and their manager as well as the clubs manager that given my birthday is in December and i get my new hair in November i wanted a blonde hair, i took really good care of the wig i was already wearing for it to be my back up given there track record with the colored wigs! The day before my appointment i was messaged by the Manager asking if i wanted to come in earlier given i live an 1 1/2 hours of there location, i agreed but i then went to ask about my hair since im anxious when i get a new peice , she tells me im getting brown becausse they decided to order my blonde wig in the middle of October and it takes 6-8 weeks to receive! i asked how is that possible when i asked in august for my new hair to be blonde her response was well you said its for December so we didn't order it, but i dont get new hair until February 2020? her response to that was sorry i dont know what else to tell you.. i was speechless/ upset etc. I can expect just about anything from this place but when i went to my appointment my stylist was aware of the situation knew i was upset, and she tried so hard to get me to be positive. She washed my hair(or lack of my own hair) put the new piece and cut it and styled it, she did an amazing job but i couldn't help to burst in tears as this wasn't what i wanted. I got in my car called the coorporate number, hint i wasnt expecting to get anyone, i left a voicemail i was crying of how stressed i am with them. The guy calls me hears my story and tells me they will call me back in an hour (never happened) i got a call maybe 5-6 hours later he heard my story and said well he will see what he can do and call me back later on in the day it is now Monday and i haven't heard. I wanted my new hair the color i wanted for all these events i have coming up i dont have time to drive 3 hours to and back to fix something that should of never happened! I pay for these services its not free i dont appreciate the additional emotional stress this is causing me! I already sought my attorney in this matter, to see if there is anything he can help me.

I never thought that this service could make as big of a difference as it has. I feel better about how I look and feel. I would not have thought just getting my hair back could do that. United States | 20 October 2019Mom and I went to Hair Club San Antonio and did a consultation. Every all the before/after pictures and showing us the system we thought that it was a great product. We decided to sign the contract and pay $6K. One week after that I went to my first consultation and got the Xtrands done, that's where the nightmare began. After all the Xtrands where put one the stylist put hair fiber on my head. I found it to be humiliating because is a last resort cheap method of "hair grow". I went and spoke the the GM and told him I didn't like the job they did on me and that I wanted to cancel my membership. He gave me the usual "blah blah" that they build on them, it's my first time there "blah blah". I decide to believe him and went home, took a shower to remove the humiliating hair fibers and the Xtrands began to fall. Next day I called GM and told him the they are falling that I'm NOT happy and I want my money back. I told him that I'm paying for premium high grade products and that I'm getting dollar store products. Yet again he gives me same BS about how they build on them and how I'm going to love them etc. That day I went to the pool and saw them floating on the water. Second day that I called GM, I told him that I want to cancel EVERYTHING and he then tells me how Hair Club offer more options on hair treatment and I again told him NO that I don't trust the company and all I want is a refund. Then he said that he wanted to talk to me in person and we set an appointment, which seemed appropriate to me. The day of the appointment he offers me a product (which for the sake of conversation I will refer as "the wig"). He tells me that he wears a wig himself (like I didn't notice) and that he would want me to try that for me. I told him no that I want to cancel mom's and my membership and want my money back. He told me that he needs to talk to corporate about the refund but he really wants to put a wig on me. He told me to touch his hair and "feel" how natural it is. I refused, I told him I didn't want to touch his hair. He told me again to do it and I refused again. Then he grabs my hand and puts it on his wig... I'm speechless and MAD but I don't want to cause a scene because I still want my money. After refusing his wig solution and apparently he doesn't understand the meaning of the word "no". He took me to another office and I got measured for the wig. Next morning I called him right when they opened and he is busy so he couldn't pick up. Next day I called him again and he's busy and can't talk to me. Two more days calling and he's too busy for me. Then he decides to call me and I told him that I don't want the wig or ANY other options that he has for me and he told me that the wig has already been ordered. I showed up the day of the appointment and he told me if I was excited about the new treatment and of course I told him no. I told him AGAIN that I received a low quality product and wanted my refund. How can I expect good quality product after the Xtrands? Then he just left the office and sent the sales person to escort me out. I called many times and tried to get in touch with GM, every time he was busy and I would just leave a voicemail. All this happened in August/September and now is October and I was finally able to speak to someone. I was able to get ahold of Assistant Manager and explain the situation. She told me that GM has been out and that my sales person would call me the next day. I spoke to the Sales Person and explained to her why I want to cancel. I am paying for a premium thousand dollar service and I received a $50 treatment. How I don't want to take the way overpriced vitamins and how I don't want the Made In China overpriced shampoo. Again she can't make any decisions but will talk to GM about it. Mom and I took the decision to go to Hair Club because of the great reviews and 40 years of experience that you have. It all has been a nightmare Now I'm stressing out everyday about the $6K that are just stuck in the company. I don't want any products or services I just want a refund and get on with my life. Is stressful that because we miss the 3-day window you are unable to provide a refund. How can we cancel in 3 days if we haven't got the service? We went there being confident that we were going to be taken care of with quality products. I got the Xtrands and that same day I wanted to cancel. This is the current situation, I'm a reasonable man and I want what is fair. I did have a session and I did take the products home. I want the remaining money back. Charge me the products I used, that is perfectly fine. I know that if GM ever decides to call me he's going to go with the 3-day contract cancelation window.

Mary Kowal, besides always making sure I am completely satisfied and happy with my results every time. I always leave smiling after Mary has worked her magic. At this point, I will only let Mary cut my hair because she always makes it perfect! If.Mary left I don't know what I would do! Kudos to hairclub in realizing what a quality employee they have in Mary. I am going on my 30th year at hairclub and have never been more satisfied! United States | 12 October 2019I have been a client of Hair Club Elmwood Park NJ for around 4 years. I have xstrands. My experience has been wonderful. The staff at the front desk are pleasant, friendly, and they are professional. The stylists are fantastic. Betsy is the best! She does my xstrands. My hair always looks great. She also does my color. If she is not available Claudette does my color. These women are great at what they do. All the stylists are very friendly. I feel confident and dont worry about my thinning hair because the xstrands make my hair fuller. I would definitely recommend this hair salon for people with thinning hair. It is pricey but I feel its so worth it.
