United Kingdom | 25 January 2025I was impressed by the amount of information supplied for each instrument that I had an interest in - this type of information is essential when considering the purchase of a violin. The process of ordering and checkout was extremely straightforward. The pricing appears to be very competitive and I very much like the idea of being able to buy an "outfit", thus removing the need to search and purchase for related individual items to complete the purchase. The delivery times shown are very favourable and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that no delivery charge was made. All in all, a very positive experience.

United Kingdom | 21 January 2025Bought digital piano 'brand new' from the PMT website for around £485. On delivery noticed dent in speaker grill, no damage to outer packaging. Contacted to ask about a price reduction / replacement, was offered £30 partial refund. We then also noticed a sticker on the side of the piano which had the SKU followed by '-DEMO', indicating this was a demonstration model that had probably been displayed on a shop floor, and presumably damaged somewhere in the process. I sent links to other b-stock examples on their website, which averaged at 30% off. They said 'I spoke to the sending store, and they still have their Demo Unit in that store on the same code ( 333945- DEMO ) so it’s hard to trace back how this has happened in all honesty.' They also said that the average for b-stock is 10-20% so offered £75 partial refund. We decided to just get a replacement, which meant returning the existing item and overall an extra week and a half before the item had arrived. The replacement direct from Yamaha actually feels and sounds better, indicating that the initial item was damaged more than just aesthetically / had been used considerably. So the support was there, they did remedy the issue without too much 'haggling', but there was a distinct feeling that they were chancing that most people wouldn't have noticed that it was b-stock, and if the recipient noticed the dent they would probably accept a very low partial refund. How many other used or damaged items have been shipped as brand new from PMT without the customer realising? Overall the whole process was a pain for what was a christmas gift, which in the end was with us half way through January. Won't be using PMT again.
