Very poor this. The prices are just silly - my bike came back with a quote of 400£ and I ended it up for fixing it myself for about 100. 10£ to change a chain? Just silly I’m afraid

Completely agree with the review in May 2023 advising to avoid at all costs. Like that person, my bike went in for an expensive service and the only time you ever hear from them is to advise that the pedals needed replacing and the hydraulic lines needed to be bled and filled. All in all my service cost me £220 and I too feel like the bike was in worse condition than when it went in. Don’t be fooled by the claim on the website that the chat form is the quickest way to get in touch, you will NEVER hear from these con artists. They too tried to return my bike on a day when I said I wasn’t available so in the end had to take a day off work as it was impossible to get hold of anyone to speak to. Several times I have tried the web form to contact them and not once has anyone ever called me back. Really disappointing considering you pay a premium for their “unique collection service” and the only time you see or hear from anyone, it’s the guy loading your bike on to the van. Finding so many faults with my bike that had done less than 150 miles was astonishing but you can’t query it, everything is automated. Awful service.

I waited few months to leave this review. I thought I could not be too impartial after all the stress they caused me, but now I can honestly and calmly say to avoid this company at all cost... Some companies just need oblivion, and Havebike is clearly one of them. God's will, this will happen soon as they already are in financial trouble and will shut down soon hopefully... So the review: Service - an average service. The bike did not fall apart afterwards but was not in 'tip top' condition' as they claim. My brakes (which they claim they changed) are still squeaky and my gears (which they claim was broken and they had to change) are worse now than they were before... Cost - horrendously expensive. They lure you with a cheap cost but then continue to add on costs on costs while they 'service' your bike. I ended up paying around £300, for a service that elsewhere would cost not even half of it... The horrible part is that they will not give you back the bike if you don't pay up because they claim it would be 'unsafe'. So basically a ransom! Communication - this is the worst part of this company. Communication with them simply does not exists. You call / email / voicemails / letters go nowhere, nobody answer the phone and talk to you. All emails are automatic, only to tell you to pay for this or that... At some point, I had almost thought I would have not seen my bike anymore. Then they tried to return the bike. I booked a day when I was home, and they didn't come. Then they came (unannounced) on a day I was not in, and the guy tried to leave the bike in my front yard (would have lasted 10min before being stolen). The best day of this whole experience was when I had my bike back (with deflated tyres, of course)! I hope you won't have to deal with this company and you are reading this before having to do with them. Otherwise good luck!

Bike service took over a month - not all Havebike's fault, parts were taking a long time to arrive. Since the bike has been returned it has developed a fault which it seems is a result of the service. I have tried to contact them repeatedly to ask them to look at the issue - you would think they would want to put this right! But per my review a couple of years ago, they are hard to get in contact with - something that has only got worse.

I have used Havebike before and the service was great. However, my last experience was not good. The main issue was not solved despite £209 worth of work. And after numerous emails to try and get the issue fixed, there has been no reply. This was not the service I have come to expect.

Eagerly took my money, didn't collect my bike, and won't reply to emails, messages or calls for nearly 3 weeks. Currently struggling to get my bank to reverse charges, if not I guess I'm going to have to think about small claims! A year or two ago this company seemed fine.

My bike went in for a service at the end of February. I was advised of additional repairs that needed done. However during this time, I found out that Havebike were closing down? I struggled to communicate with them and requested that the additional repairs please be completed prior to them closing down as I had already paid £69 for the service. Eventually after receiving a phone call, the additional work was carried out (£108 later in total). Unfortunately upon receipt of the bike, I decided to test ride it but the gears and chain were completely out of alignment and i could not pedal at all. So I returned the bike and was advised someone would contact me. Well that didn't happen. I have struggled all week to communicate with them. Their phone lines have been disconnected and no one responds to my emails and messages. I have received the bike this morning but it's still not pedalling smoothly. Still noisy when in 3rd and 7th gear. The driver promised he would get someone to contact me but I have yet to receive a call. Feel I have wasted £108 on such poor service. Money thrown away!!

Charge £99 which I thought was enough to fix the minor problem with the front wheel. Turns out that this is the fee to do a ‘MOT’ on my bike. MOT on my £25k car is only £50. The bike has only done 200 miles and cost £500 They gave me a big list of “critical” fixes and it would all cost £200 plus. So £299 altogether. Really not happy. I refused and they returned my bike a week later. What is this 104 point check? It’s a push bike! Don’t fall for the collection rubbish, go to your local bike shop.

I started using havebike a couple of years ago when it first started up and i honestly had no bad words to describe them. I wrote a review in this fashion. Its a shame that i now have to write a bad review about this company, but if it prevents others from using them then its worth it. I sent my bike in for a deluxe service (£99) on the 28th of Feb and it went into the workshop on the coming Friday. The bike was due for return on the 7th March. My bike wasn’t needing much work done to it, i knew the gear cables will need replacing as the bike wasn’t shifting like it should and they were at the right mileage for it. The workshop came back and stating that there were four ‘safety critical’ bits of additional work that was needed. The gear cables (I knew this, but wouldn’t call it ‘safety critical’) the chain (again, not ‘safety critical’) the cassette (and again, not ‘safety critical’) and my brake pads (I’ll accept that these were ‘safety critical’ although it was braking fine when they picked it up). Now, I followed the link to approve some of the work. Due to the amount of mileage i do, I actually wanted the cassette changed, the chain naturally will need doing with this and the gear cables needed changing. The brake pads A) I wanted to see how much pad was left, as i doubt they really needed changing and B) I can do it myself and C) they wanted to charge me £25 per pair and a £60 fitting fee. So I wanted that item taken off. The link provided wouldn’t allow me to do this, so an email was sent off. The whole weekend nothing. Not a single word from them. So today, (Monday 6th) I had to call. The first call handler, Chris, stated that havebike are now (to my surprise) not trading as of the 13th March hence no answer from them. But he will get the workshop to call me (i admit that i missed this phone call as I was having lunch). I then rung back and spoke to Hannah, which I asked to leave a message with the workshop (as they cant transfer the call through to them) that i wish for the brake pads to be taken off the worklist. Once thats done i said i’ll approve the additional work. It took 4 hours of waiting and me ringing back to find out (from Chloe) that the workshop replied on the system (great communication) if I don’t approve all the additional work (coming in at £250, on top of the £99 deluxe service) that they would not work on my bike at all and the bike will be returned. Sorry what?! The use of that sales tactic is almost bully boy territory. I agreed to most the work and because I don’t agree with one aspect, and one that I can fix myself, they refuse to work on the bike full stop? Thats not a way the company should be conducting themselves. Chloe, and to be fair the other call handlers, were excellent (Chloe sorted out a full refund so extra points) but its a shame that the workshop and the pricing let the company down. If its true, no wonder the company is stopping their trade. My advice, use your local bike shop. At least you can communicate with them. I now await the return of my unserviced bike.

My bike was picked up late, returned several days later than booked and, after I was given a discount because of the delay, their system tried to recharge me for the discount when I logged in to authorise a repair.

Great service and great dealing with problems when they occur to the customer's satisfaction. Drivers doing the pick-up and delivery (Thanos/Eduardo) also very professional and helpful throughout.

I've just got off the phone with havebike and had to cancel my order as I didn't agree to getting a safety critical spend approved. I've sent my bike to be serviced as it was in the shed all winter and unfortunately it didn't get through the winter without it needing some TLC. They last serviced it in August 2022 and since then I've only done about a 100 miles (London to Brighton and 2 smaller rides around various parts of London). They now have flagged that the rear tyre (Schwalbe Marathon Plus, about 2000 miles travelled around London) needs replacing ASAP and won't proceed with the servicing unless that gets approved. They have quoted me £43.99 plus £18 labour for a tyre Halfords is selling for £29.99. I told them this was not even flagged as 'advisory' the last time (they say it has been but I can't see it on the e-mail I received back in August). I refused to pay for the tyre as I wanted to swap it myself anyway to something else (Durano) and frankly, I don't want to be overcharged. Yes, the tyre looks a bit worn but I refuse to believe replacing it is safety critical - it's a Marathon Plus after all not a tyre made out of glass. I did offer to pay for other additional spends but if I approved everything it would have cost me around £300 in total and that'd include the fee for the Deluxe service. Anyway, I talked to them on the phone yesterday (e-mail never got replied to) after trying to get through to them for a good hour or two. They said they'd ask a supervisor and get back to me. That never happened. Called again today, after 40 mins waiting I gave up and selected the option 'Help with new order' and got through in 8 minutes. Wow. The woman from customer services was very helpful and she did find out that the supervisor has denied working on the bike unless the tyre replacement work was carried out. I have proceeded to cancel the order and will just take the bike to the nearest bike shop once they deliver it back. This is not the first time havebike have messed me over, once before they kept messing up a repair and I had to send the bicycle back twice (!) before it actually got fixed. They provided excellent service back in 2020 when I first used them but I'm sad to say that between it being impossible to actually reach them and them trying to get you to spend twice as much as you were expecting to I will not be using them anymore. When the stars align and they fix your bike up well and get your bike back to you in the promised time - it's perfect. However when something goes wrong you lose all the comfort and convinience you're supposed to pay for when they keep you on hold for hours and not keeping you in the loop about what's going on.

The people in the workshop seem to know what they are doing. They give you options if they need to install or change new things. Communications wise they are AWFUL, I had to ring them more than 4 times to know where my bike was. Twice they booked a delivery and even didn't know the bike was not ready. 0 communication between the callcentre and the shop. Their chat option is NONEXISTENT and they do not reply to emails. And finally, when they are going to deliver, they do it on the only day that was complicated for us. Is it worth it? I don't know.

HAVEBIKE, though after a delay, effectively dealt with the issues I had on the order and gave me a partial refund to help with it.

The collection and drop off was a dream. Great service, I had some advisory/ critical safety issues on the bike which were described in the detailed engineers notes which I totally agreed with. Would recommend

Love the service (pick up and drop off) and updates (collection times, service update & work approval, drop offs times). The only room for improvement I would note is getting back on queries. I called the first day and heard nothing back, I was promised on second day by staff member that she would be back with an answer in next few hours but I still had to call again the next day to chase and then eventually got an answer via an updated engineer note.

i have a disability and having a dependable bike service that will come and pick my bike up is amazing. I can now ride confident that my e-bike won't break down following an extensive service and the replacement of some cabling. Definitely worth the money for the ease of the service.
