We were looking for a safe and loving way to board our dogs when we travel and DogVacay helped us get connected to a wonderful woman who took great care of our dogs in her home. Their process was very quick and gave a secure way for us to evaluate each other and to pay securely as well. We received prompt replies, excellent updates on our dogs while we were gone. I would highly recommend this service and will definitely use them again.

Very well thought out and great experience

Having recently adopted our dog about 3 months ago, we were a little uncertain about leaving him, especially as we just discovered a health issue requiring daily medication. The sitter we usually use wasn't going to be available. Stumbled across Dogvacay, and it was the perfect solution. We found several potential sitters in our area, all charging reasonable fees. We picked 2 to meet with and both were folks we be comfortable leaving our dog with. The sitter we chose was very good with dogs, responsible and we had no worries while we enjoyed our holiday.

Our first dog sitter did not care for my girl correctly. He didn't read my note outlining her medication, so he overdosed her. He didn't pay attention to her and she came back with her nose completely ripped up. Second experience was amazing. She was a last minute emergency situation. She was excellent and very loving. Be cautious of someone who takes on multiple families as once.

This was my first time using DogVacay and I would definitely recommend it to others. Very easy to use, plenty of profiles to review and chose the best host for our pups. The app is very user friendly as well. Overall great experience

I would like to see more background check verified dog sitters so that I can have a more expanded list of options. I love everything else about the site.

I have only had one experience where I haven't been super thrilled and that was my fault for not meeting her first. And my only complaint is how unkempt the sitter's house was. College student who just could not have cared less. I have loved every person who has cared for my pet and used several of them again since I compete in martial arts in the same cities over and over. I was very pleased with the way Dog Vacay handlerld a situation in which a cat came into a sitter's yard and got into a scuffle with my dog. They were very concerned and proactive and ready to care for him. Thankfully he didn't need it. I also needed a refund once and it was taken care of right away. I would be lost without Dog Vacay to help watch my precious Tae Kwon Dontae during those few hours when I cannot whilst traveling with him. Most appreciative of their services! Thank you!

We had the best experience choosing Dawn-Marie of "A Little beach pet vacay" for boarding our dog through DogVacay. Our doggie had lots of exercise and attention and even made a new best doggie friend. When we picked her up it seemed like she really wanted to stay. I highly recommend their pet sitting service if you're in need in the San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay or Los Osos, CA area.

Finding DogVacay was a blessed relief from the thought of sending our pups to a kennel. As one of our pups is a rescue, we were so concerned with a kennel because she literally freaks out when something closely resembles that environment. So when I stumbled across this website on the internet, it seemed almost too good to be true! After looking through the list of potential sitters, we decided upon Lais and Shane. We were then able to do a meet and greet prior to the pups stay to make sure it was a good fit for everyone. During our trip we received updates on our furbabies several times a day through texts, photos, videos and even FaceTime😂 It is also affordable! Each sitter sets their own prices and you know, and pay the fee up front. I HIGHLY recommend Lais (our sitter), and this service!! Oh! And did I mention there's even a user friendly, well integrated app? LOVE!

Very disappointing to find out that my dog was left alone in a home, and much more with the door open. I tried reaching out to Alexander via telephone and finally via Dogvacay messenger, prior days before going over to his house. Unfortunately, I was very tied up at work and had a gut feeling that something was wrong. I finally had a day off yesterday and decided to drive to Alexander's house to see what was happening. I stayed with my dog in the front yard of Alexander's house for about 10 to 15 mins, and still no one around to come out from the house. I take it Alexander may not have been home at the time, and probably left my dog with his roommate. I knocked on the patio door, and even hit the door bell and nothing. I was very alarmed with the neglect of my dog, and saw firsthand how easily she could of gotten lost. My dog has been with me for 8 years, and we consider her family. I take the risk and gamble with Dogvacay hosts as ultimately last resort. I am currently in between moving homes, if not I would not be using your service. Furthermore, I am missing some property that I was unable to retrieve from the property. Though the door was open, is unlawful to enter a home and dangerous. The risk was not worth taking, and decided to buy two new dog bowls, a new bag of dog food, new bed, and a new leash (about $100 that I did not expect to spend.) I would return to Alexander's house and retrieve my things, but I am afraid I am still too upset to even see him in person. I also left my dogs medication ( Apoquel 160 mg) x 30 pills, which run me about $3.10 per pill ( $93 total.) Overall, you can see how expensive this incident has been for my family. Please let me know how we can get my things in a timely manner. You stated that you are still assessing whether or not Alexander will continue to be a host in the Dogvacay community. A company that seems to have forgotten what the most important value is in their business model, which is to advocate and protect our four legged friends. In your own words "most rigorously vetted & trusted sitters available ", well you have failed. Alexander has your 101 dog training certificate, and what other certifications you may provide, but now hold little value. Dogvacay promises to “connect dog lovers with one another to find and provide safe, convenient and affordable ways for their best friend.” You offer a great service, but by no means is it affordable enough to put my dog at risk. You need to review you candidate selection process, and establish a higher sense of responsibility from all of them. Customer’s trust in your company and the brand to find a safe, comfortable, and responsible sitter for our loved ones. I see that you have provided a promo code for $150 for my next visit, and I thank you for that gesture. Fortunately, I still have a dog that I can find a sitter for but next time it won’t be with Dogvacay. I’ll make sure to spread my story with other friends whom referred me to your website, just so they know how imperfect the Dogvacay community currently is and how much more they need to improve.

A Great Time was had by all!!! My husband and I usually have our granddaughter stay at our house when we travel but this time she had a "real job" so we decided to board our Miss Yin. We were gone for 10 days and received frequent videos of our little lady having a great time! She was well taken care of and even spoiled a little. It was definitely a win win for all of us! we felt secure knowing our dog was in good hands and that was invaluable! Try it...you won't be sorry! Super Service, reliable and comprehensive!
