We have been with Globelink for 5 years and although we have been fotunate enough not to of had to make a claim, having the policy adds peace of mind and stops having to take out insurance for every small trip. The renewal system is very user friendly

As always, simple to use, a bit of a delay due to Covid 19, but that’s to be expected. As I always say, can’t really judge until one makes a claim.

Simple online procedure but I have used before. Accepts simple health conditions on policy and makes it plain anything else cannot be claimed for, covid added with some disclaimers.. All in all not a bad world wide annual policy at a reasonable price.

I had difficulty at first getting hold of someone at the other end of the phone...After that the person was very polite and explained a few things. So quite happy

We purchased a travel policy for our 3 month trip to Vietnam. Easy purchase process and good price, but when you come to make a legitimate claim things get complicated and extremely lengthy process. Our flight from Vietnam was cancelled (due to Covid 19) on the day of our scheduled return. I contacted Globelink and was given a link to Mayday Assistance. They informed us to get out of Vietnam as shutdown was happening the next day, plus they confirmed that we had £3,000 each cover to get flights home. We immediately found flights for same day, so booked these within the claim allowance (Luckily had necessary funds in bank). Did this with the knowledge of what was thought to be a straight forward claim refund. Wrong!! Kept Globelink updated and upon return home, (taking 60 hrs not our original 24hr flights) started our claim. I was referred to the claims handlers RightPath. Firstly, the claims form had to be printed and hand written rather than filling in on screen. This then scanned and sent back to RightPath along with all supporting documents (11 total), including a full diary documentation to clarify details. Some documents were rejected as firstly zipfiles not accepted and also anything sent must be in JPEG or PDF. Every time you email them you get auto reply that you’ll get a response in 5-7 working days. Very frustrating! Inevitably received reply on 7th day. Delays delays. After a few weeks of getting nowhere I complained to Globelink and as a result received immediate action from RightPath. Claim now passed to Claims Executive. After approx 12 weeks I received a substantial part payment and RightPath withheld our full original flight cost (out bound and return). Eventually after a further 3 weeks our claim was settled. Total 15 weeks of delays and frustration. Conclusion – Appreciate this is a very busy time for the insurance companies, but this is what they should be geared up to deal with. Globelink in the main good, but extremely let down by RightPath. Hence low rating. Globelink, rethink your claims handling company! In the unfortunate situation again I would not lay out my money and would leave for the insurers to arrange things! Graham Turner

Easy and cheap to book online....unfortunately just sent you straight to their underwriter for a claim when it counts who won’t pay out for a booking that was cancelled due to COVID. You’ve had two annual European policies from me but you won’t be getting another! I will take my business elsewhere and will not be recommending your services to any fellow expats living in London from now on. I have lost £180 for a flight and accommodation that I am UNABLE to use so vouchers aren’t worth anything when you can’t use them!

This was a policy renewal. Totally disgusted that there is now a coronavirus exclusion. I don’t want the illness but it should be covered. Found renewing hard work. Couldn’t ge5 through by phone and found the on line not user friendly at all.

Website was clearly presented so I could see the difference between the available options. Prices seemed OK (better than some of the big companies) I don't know if I could buy cheaper as I gave up looking. Frustrated that the policies include elements, which are not relevant to my needs - i.e. Wintersports equipment. I'd like a company that allowed ME to select what I'd like cover for and then calculate the price, rather than bundling lots of different things together. .

Update on my review below........ A few days after posting the review below I am very happy to say that we did eventually get notification that our claim was now finalised and we would be getting out refund in 5-7 days. I am still waiting for this but I am forever hopeful that this will arrive in the next few days. Thank you Globelink. We have been customers for a few years now and sadly this year was the first time we have ever had to claim. It is true that an insurance company only shows its worth when you have to put in a claim. To cut a very long story short we were potentially stranded in Thailand at the end of March. Having dealt with a claim before for my mother in law where we got it totally wrong we did not do anything with regard to repatriation until we spoke with Globelink. We followed their instructions to the letter and were advised what to do and when, it was also confirmed to us in writing that we had ample cover to get us home etc, this is the quote in the email.... “Please be informed your policy covers up to £3000 per person for travel disruption, including £100 per day for accommodation up to 3 days, minus your £50 excess.“ Sadly here we are 8 weeks later and still we are waiting for our reimbursement. The delay tactics have been disgraceful in that every week we get asked to produce something else. When I originally completed the claim form, I sent Globelink absolutely everything that was required and several times now we have had to send items again. We buy every year an annual multi trip policy and our current policy is valid until Fed 2021 however I would feel very nervous of travelling under this insurance policy.

Declined our claim for reimbursement of unused business class flights and hotel from Singapore,(mid February) due to our cruise ship captain turning the ship around back to Dubai, (because of unforeseen Coronavirus presence and fast increase in Singapore since we left Dubai 15 days before - and the news of the Princess cruise ship stuck in port in Japan). We should have disembarked in Singapore, where we had extended our stay in a prepaid hotel for 2 days. They refused to pay ANY of it, because, apparently, we had every opportunity to buy a new flight from Dubai to Singapore, just to take our business class flight back! Ridiculous. We had booked the trip 19 months ahead, and the flights were booked 10 months before, so no-one could have foreseen corona virus issues. We will be taking this issue to the ombudsman. 6 other people in our party were re-imbursed the full amount by their insurers, (Direct Line, Virgin and Aviva). We are VERY disappointed with this outcome and are feeling very angry indeed. To advise that we should have made our way into a small city where Covid-19 was spreading rapidly, is quite frankly, immoral. And I WILL be applying for a reimbursement of the rest of this year's annual policy (which we had continuous cover from the year before). Customer loyalty at its worst.

Have just received partial refund of my worldwide annual travel Insurance Policy which I bought in November 2019.My request was dealt with very fairly and speedily after cancellation deduction of 35% and a £25 handling fee. This was a goodwill payment as I have been a long-standing customer.Received about 41% of my annual premium back having used the policy to travel to USA for 2 months in December 2019 and January 2020.Well done Globelink under these difficult times for everyone.
