Horrible experience! We used Pie for about a year for WC policy in our small office. Never had to communicate with them due to no incidents. However, at the end of the year, they send a notice that they will no longer cover us due to them “no longer having the appetite to cover our line of business” and also giving us notice that we will be audited. Our line of business is an office based recruitment and HR consulting company. We ended up going back to Hartford. The transition to PIe was supposed to be cost saving and it ended up costing even more after the audit. They claimed that our rate increased because we have additional members. We clearly stated that the additions were part owners. The increase from audit ended up being about another 50% which is not even consistent with the increase of payroll amount. It felt like a bait and switch. We will never work nor recommend anyone to work with Pie Insurance again.

I received a postcard in the mail for Pie insurance and decided to give them a try. Wow! So far it has been great! Great prices, great customer service, personable and competent help. I also got a much better premium than one of the really large companies where I was just a little fish in the big Sea.

It takes trust to move from a well-known provider and a local agent to an online provider with no name recognition and with whom one has no relationship. The Worker's Compensation world is a well-insulated system that appears to use uniform codes and similar rate structures. It is a legal requirement for businesses but if you have questions that don't fit into their system, accessing your provider directly is almost impossible. It seems deliberately mystifying! I am glad to see that PIE is thinking outside the box and delivering direct customer service with know-how and expedience. My intake person Rae Ann was very thorough. She asked a lot of questions and was quick to find the answers she didn't know. Once all of the information was in place, it was very easy to make the switch from my old provider to PIE and it turns out that we will be saving about 16% annually.

I was dumped by a previous workman's comp provider for not completing all the proper paperwork on time, renewed and dumped again and again. Looking for another carrier brokers were telling me it's the same with all of them. Well they have not met PIE. They are so comfortable to do business with. My representative that helped me get started, Cougar, believed in my company.Never had that from an insurance carrier. But I think all their reps are like that. Applied simply and approved the same day, I had a binder effective the following day. True to their name, Easy as Pie.

Jessie was very helpful and energetic in her communications. Information was found out very fast and there was never any pressure. Pricing was alot better than the insurance company we just left and everything was so seemless in how it happened, unlike the company we just left. Hopefully everything will flow as well in our future dealings and correspondence!

I had been shopping around with several different carriers for workers comp insurance many stated that they do not insure general contractors. Then I ran across pie insurance online I requested a quote online and received a call back from Sonia Pena the next day. She was very friendly and submitted my quote to underwriter and approved instantly. The rates are excellent and the customer service is beyond great! I’m glad I discovered pie !

I think the company was very knowledgeable and efficient, in putting the quote. Some of the other companies kept bouncing me from one person to another, whereas Cody was always there, when I had a question.
