It’s hard for me to write this review but Yama Seafood supplies with THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST… It’s hard to emphasize it through words. Just know that when you order from Yama Seafood, you’re ordering the most SUPREME and HIGH QUALITY products you will EVER sink your teeth into. You will taste fish from Yama Seafood that will have you wondering what you have eaten in the past because this fish is far superior to anything you’ve had in the past. I ordered maybe times from Yama Seafood and I was always satisfied. Great products and on time delivery every time.

Yama Seafood is our Local Fish Monger in the Jersey City Area. The prices are good, we are able to pick-up locally, and the fish quality is always high. We always order the Tuna and love that we have the choice of lean (Akami), lean/fatty (Chu-Toro), and fatty (O-Toro). We also order the Salmon loin and belly, which are both very fresh and fatty. When in stock, we love the hamachi kama, because it's freshly frozen, easy to prepare, and very tasty. For our last purchase, we had an order of 5lbs of Tuna and Salmon varieties to serve 15 for about $220, which is about $15pp. Our friends and family loved the taste of the sashimi we served and are already looking forward to our next gathering. Also, here is some feedback I'd like to give to make our experience better. First, get more hamachi kama stock. Usually, if I can't find it here, I buy it at H-Mart. Second, I'd like to see more ready prepared fish varieties, such as hamachi (Yellowtail) in the same (0.25 lbs. to 1 lb.) sizes as the tuna and salmon. Third, sell freshly grated wasabi in smaller sizings. When we lived in NYC, Osakana had grated wasabi, which was awesome. Lastly, I'd like to see some merch, like a chefs hat with your logo. Any kind of apparel (shirt, hoodie) or kitchen accessory (knife bag, casserole travel container, etc.) Overall, Yama Seafood is a great best kept secret in Jersey City. Usually cheaper when buying fish for sushi/sashimi than other stores around the area (Wholefoods, 99 Ranch, Asian Grocery Market) and way higher quality.

This is a very good sashimi store. In the past two years, I have placed several orders with Yamaseafood. Their food is of high quality, they have a reasonable price, they respond email quickly，and they offer convenient delivery service. I will continue to buy from this store. As I have recommended it to many friends, I would also recommend it to anyone who reads this review.

Received product on time, as fresh as it can be. The deliverer did call to confirm how to drop off package at the apartment complex which I appreciate since I was not there at the time.

Yama Seafood is the best! Such high quality, restaurant-grade seafood for a fraction of the price I'd pay at restaurants. Our favorites are the Maine uni, chu-toro, salmon toro, and tobiko.

Uni and everything else was delicious and super fresh, but the ikura was no longer vacuum sealed and looked tampered with.

Great products and customer service!

Their ordering process sucks. They charge ridiculous pricing for “overnight” delivery which is unnecessary for a company being within an hour away from the delivery location. The food arrives completely frozen. You cannot use it for at least 40 hours later than arrival. The customer service is horrendous. Don’t waste your time or a headache on them.

Always helpful and never any doubt that all products will be included. They also answer all my questions via email or instagram really quickly. I am so grateful for all the kind people at Yama!
