United States | 13 February 2025The way you package the uni seems to me that you are insulating it from the cold ice. You wrap the uni in clear bobble wrap and then silver bobble wrap which to me defeats the purpose of keeping it cool. Every time I receive a shipment from you it is the same. Also I do order a lot of food online that comes in cold packaging so I can tell the difference. You can also call me if you would like: 323-350-0777.

I would have to order fresh seafood ahead of time and drive 3 hours round trip for similar quality product. Communication and customer service was prompt and great. Would highly recommend it!

Went to website and to my account and it was difficult to leave comment that my order came wrong. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the mix up. Absolutely wonderful quality of fish though.

United States | 27 January 2025I ordered the Hiramasa saku yellowtail fillet, the farmed hamachi yellowtail (4.5-5lbs) and 2 Loch Duart salmon belly saku blocks. Everything I received was perfectly packaged and frozen. I started by thawing the large hamachi yellowtail. I watched several videos on how to cut the fish for sashimi and even through I am a rookie, everything turned out fine and the quality of the fish was perfect and tasted delicious. If you only need a small amount of yellowtail, I recommend the saku blocks. They taste the same and are easier to deal with if you are inexperienced (as I am). The salmon was also delicious. I can get farmed salmon from Scotland at my local fish market, but the saku I ordered from Yama tasted fresher. I will definitely order again and again when I need fresh fish. Another advantage of ordering fish at Yama is the customer service. Nobu, the owner, answers any questions you have about the fish. In the world where AI-generated “bot” responses are the norm, I am super impressed that someone cares so much about their company that they make themselves available to answer questions and make suggestions. Thank you Yama seafood for providing great fish and stellar customer service.

United States | 24 January 2025I was so excited to receive sushi fish from Japan but I was highly let down the fish that we received was extremely chewy and not good for sashimi at all As well our package did not come at the time it said it would which the first time was yamas fault because they didn’t ship it when they said they would. They were apologetic about that but then ups also delayed our package as well I will probably order from them again but we will just be buying specific sushi fish and not the omakase package In my option it’s just not worth it
