United Kingdom | 15 November 2024We was looking to downsize our estate car form something smaller and little bit more fun to drive, as out daughter has now gone to university. Didn't really know what we was looking for and we kind of stumbled across a few mini cars that looked interesting. Saw that horsepower motor centre had a good selection so we contacted them after hours via email and Danny called us back the very next day. We explained we wanted to trade our estate car in and was interested in a couple on minis. We traveled up from Brighton with a car we'd seen online in mind. On arrival we was spoilt for choice of vehicles, absolutely loads to chose from. We meet Danny and he was very friendly, laid back and not what I expected a typical used car salesman to be. Wasn't pushy in anyway. Just knowledgeable, polite and friendly. We started looking at a mini clubman but after sitting inside it with my wife it was a little too small and quiet low to the ground ( it was a sports version, very nice but as much as I love my wife, we was a little to close together inside) I've got a degenative back condition so needed a little something higher up. Started looking at a couple of mini countryman's they had settled on a white one with a black roof. Sitting in side, the car just looked and felt right. It was the cooper S petrol model 1.6. Danny gave us the keys so we could go on a test drive. On the drive, we noticed a knocking noise coming from the rear of.the car. On returning to the showroom. We pointed this out to Danny who took the car for a drive with we so he himself could see what I had heard. He confirmed the noise and said it would be investigated and fixed before sale. He left us alone to continue looking around the car in peace. Me and my wife agreed we wanted the car and spoke with Danny about out part exchange vehicle. We was offered a good price and it was recommended that we look into the extended warranty as mini cars can be a little temperamental. ( He wasn't wrong, I'll explain in a bit) If we took out the extended warranty, we would get a Extra £100 off the mini as a sweetener. Agreed the sale and arrangements to collect the car the following week. The day before collection day,.we got a phone call to say the car would be delayed as during there own safety check. They had found one of the control modules had failed and needed an replacing. This would take up to a week. A new date was agreed and the following week, I went to collect the new to me mini countryman. It was given a fresh MOT. The knocking noise turned out to be an anti roll bar bush that was warn it was replaced. An advisory for brake disc for the front was the only thing that needed attention soon. Completed the paperwork, handed Danny the keys to our old car and was away our new wheels. Just a few notes that it's good to be aware of. The MOT was carried out by an independent garage, so if it isn't safe, they won't pass it like some sales centres that have their own in-house MOT guys. That's important to know in my opinion. Before writing this review, I wanted to give it a few weeks of owning the car. Overall, the car is excellent. However for piece off mind I replaced the front discs and pads as we are now entering winter and this is going to be our daily driver. I replaced all four tyres for the same reason. Nothing wrong with the ones already fitted, they was perfectly road legal. Just every tyre was a different brand on each corner at different tread depths. So that was a personal choice.. I kept getting a fault code for no windscreen washer fluid even though it was full. So replaced the sensor as it had failed. A couple of blown fuses was stopping the power sockets and key recharging system from working. Kept getting fault codes for the car battery being poorly charged (start stop system not working also) bought a battery charger to try and fix the problem but it unfortunately needed a new battery altogether. Bought a replacement battery from GSF and fitted it myself (battery was £167. Mini wanted £228 plus £178 to fit it. Thank god for YouTube) Now the car is absolutely spot on. No fault codes. Everything works as it should. Yes I probably could of gone back to to Danny and he may of sourced a new battery for me but the way I see it, these items are what I imagined are just general wear and tear. The car is 13 years old so will need a few odds and ends anyway. Plus I would rather be able to go back to them if something more serious was to go wrong with it. That to me is what the extended warranty is for, the serious stuff but hopefully it won't ever come to that but if it does I'm sure Danny and the team would do their best to fix the more serious problems. I found the whole sales experience from start to finish very pleasant and I would highly recommend these guys. A great selection of cars from a few part exchange vehicles for a few hundred pounds to a top of the range Range Rovers worth thousands.

United Kingdom | 05 November 2024I purchased a Toyota Hilux from this garage 2 years ago.. few issues upon driving away (it wouldn't run after 1 mile) but they had to repair... so waited 1 month for delivery, no problem, patient guy. Then 2 years fairly problem free driving, except a mild oil leak. Until I put it in for a recent full service... (its 1st while i'v owned it) so no one has even touched the engine. This uncovered a huge oil leek once the oil was dropped and refilled, the entire sump was plastered with silicone, literally Smothered with it to cover up a serious crack in the sump!! now I'm £1800 down for full repairs and I'd like to know how this was missed in their full pre sales service as I was informed the car had gone through? I'd bet another £1800 they applied that putty to the sump themselves to make the sale. Totally shocking Danny.... you're a professional shmoozer thats for sure, Super Smiley and quick to get your signature on that finance deal so they can wash their hands of these Vehicular Nightmares they're knocking out!! I advise anyone considering purchasing from this place to read all of their 1 star reviews... ignore the 5 stars as they're probably self written There's no way these Cowboys could sell you a good deal if their mechanics are prepared to cover up this amount of damage.. And if they missed it, that tells a different story Avoid, Avoid

They did it straight away like it was no trouble at all. They reassured me it was safe and to take it back when the light came on again to determine the problem rather than saying I needed both error codes and spending a fortune. Will definitely use them for further car trouble/maintenance. Thank you
