Though I am waiting until Tuesday for delivery, DHL has been up front with days of delivery. I am excited to get to taste English cookies, that one can't find here in Quebec. The other cookies I remember were Britannia or something like that. I am still looking.

I searched some products of Hotel Chocolat and was very happy to find them here. Delivery was well, grateful to know this website.

Great authentic Bovril product which I cannot source anywhere else. However, shipping can take a long time despite the expensive shipping cost, and one jar in my order had the lid cracked with content leaking out. Need better packaging for shipping overseas (from UK to US in this case).

1. Huge Customs duties thst appeared first afterwards and were not indicated by your website🙄; 2. You did not specify the size of your parcel (length/ breadth/ height) precisely enough for Customs clearance in Austria 🇦🇹 .🙄 These issues ought to be improved by you.

Easy way to get items not available in the US

First time I have used this site and was very impressed with the prices and service I received. There is a good selection of items that I miss from home so I will definitely be using your site again.

Communication is terrible. I placed an order on a Friday afternoon, and realised Saturday morning that the delivery address was incorrect. I emailed the company Saturday morning with no response, and realised they did not work at the weekend. So Monday morning I emailed them again ....no response. I emailed them again on the Tuesday and the only communication was to tell me that they were going to be delivered to a UK address. I now have to pay more than £10 to get them transferred to me in France. One might have thought that anyone with half a brain would have realised that I didn't want a UK delivery to a UK address ... I could have walked to Tesco if I was there!!!

I don't understand some of the low ratings for British Essentials. They handled my $100+ order just fine. There was only one missing item but they refunded me for that once I reached out. Nice selection of British goodies that made me happy to receive, especially the jammie dodgers. :-) All arrived fresh and in good condition.

BEWARE DO NOT ORDER!! I chose to ignore the other warnings on this site for British Essentials and I was so wrong. My order arrived with half of the items I ordered missing and those that were delivered were damaged. After contacting their customer service over 10 times I got no response. Thankfully I used PayPal for the transaction so I was able to dispute through PayPal and after weeks of waiting for a response I finally received a partial refund although nothing was refunded for the shipping costs I paid for items that weren’t delivered. Find a different company to order from and stay away from British Essentials. I hope this reviews help stop a bad experience from happening to someone else.
