Altra has always been a great credit union to work with. Ease of doing business is exceptional even for large purchases such as a home. I would recommend Altra to anyone looking for a great financial partner.

I love banking with Altra. I called with an issue and it was resolved very rapidly and with ease. I have accounts that are really easy to manage. I love the app and the online banking options. I like their hours, but I wish they were open a little bit later in the evening or on Saturdays. I recently had an issue with a double charge and they help me to effectively communicate and solve that issue.

I tried to login to my Altra account. I have had trouble in the past and I have changed passwords. So today Altra didn't want my password but instead wanted the last four digits of my social security number. I have had the same social security number all my life (81+ yrs) so I believe I know it. I entered the last four numbers of my social security number ( which should NOT be used for banking purposes) and I was told that my login was invalid. I tried several times to login using my password and my ssn. I was told each time that my information was invalid. I think mt info was spot on but Altra knows better. I tried calling about five or six times but nobody answered. The phone kept ringing but no individual answered. On several occasions I got a screeching noise which hurt my ears. It should not need to ba an ordeal to login to my account. Sometimes I log in smoothly but usually I have to make several phone calls and change my password to look at my own account. This frustrates the dickens out of me.

The tellers are always super friendly and courteous and helpful. I don't remember ever having a bad experience at Altra. And they were super patient with my picky grandson about his choice of a sticker!

Great to see the smiling faces when you walk in, the attention and helpfulness everyone extends to you, makes you feel that they want your business, it's not like you walk in there and you feel like you're putting them out. They pointed out to me an account that I could get a very strong return on my money, yet it would still be liquid and avaliable to pull out anytime if a different investment opportunity comes along.

We did appreciate your A+ checking account for years but it went lethargic, so we no longer use it because it didn't change with the economy. Unfortunately, we just keep a bare minimum in our accounts because the interest you're paying on savings, checking, doesn't compete with other banking institutions. You're not the only credit union with low savings rates. I've had to move our money to other banking institutions that pay 4%+. The old saying, "get it while the gettin's good", is necessary.

The main thing that makes the company great is the way that it treats its clients like family members. Altra, in my experience, is one of the best credit unions around and it certainly has made me look at banking a lot differently than in the past. After my experience with Altra, I would not go back to a traditional bank and, in my mind, traditional banks could learn a lot from credit unions such as Altra. In a five star rating system I would give them a ten.

How the Bank Handling account and the money. Tellers and the whole team stepped in, and help customers when there are a lot of people waiting on the line. It gives customers a big trust on their leadership as whole!

I worked with Katy Wilson at the South Broadway location in Tyler, TX. and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I work out of town and she was able to complete my loan quickly and easily. Katy is very knowledgeable and just a pleasure to work with. Thank you for all of your help Katy!

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Altra Federal Credit Union, and I must say, it was a highly disappointing experience. From their limited operating hours to their lackluster online security measures, this credit union left much to be desired. Furthermore, their questionable credibility due to their bait-and-switch marketing tactics only added to my frustration. First and foremost, one of the most frustrating aspects of Altra Federal Credit Union is their restricted operating hours. It's astonishing that a financial institution in this day and age would close their doors on weekends. This severely limits the convenience for working individuals like myself who can only tend to their banking needs on Saturdays or Sundays. It is incredibly inconvenient to have to rearrange my schedule during the already busy workweek just to perform basic banking transactions. Additionally, their online security measures are disappointingly lazy. In an era where cybercrime is rampant, it is crucial for financial institutions to prioritize the safety of their customers. However, Altra Federal Credit Union seems to have overlooked this fundamental aspect. Their online security measures are subpar at best, leaving customers vulnerable to potential hacking attempts and identity theft. It is alarming that a credit union, which should be safeguarding our financial well-being, falls short in protecting our sensitive information. Moreover, I was deeply disappointed by the credibility of Altra Federal Credit Union due to their bait-and-switch marketing tactics. These questionable practices involve enticing customers with attractive offers and rates, only to backtrack on those promises once the customer is committed. It's a deceptive strategy that undermines the trust between the institution and its members. Such unethical behavior raises serious concerns about the credit union's integrity and their commitment to honest and transparent dealings. Overall, my experience with Altra Federal Credit Union was extremely unsatisfactory. Their inconvenient operating hours, lax online security measures, and questionable marketing tactics make it difficult to trust them with my financial affairs. I would strongly advise anyone considering banking with them to explore alternative options that prioritize customer convenience, security, and ethical practices. *** Response to their response I live 80 miles away from the nearest branch and with customer service not available on weekends I needed to waiting until Monday or drive 160 miles. SECURITY reCAPTCHA primarily focuses on verifying the user's humanity, typically through image recognition or solving simple puzzles. While it can help prevent automated bots from accessing banking websites, it does not address other sophisticated security threats, such as phishing attacks, malware, or social engineering techniques. reCAPTCHA is essentially a form of single-factor authentication, which relies on something the user knows (solving a puzzle) or something the user has (visual or audio input) to verify their identity. However, for banking transactions, it is crucial to have multi-factor authentication that combines multiple factors such as something the user knows (password), something the user has (OTP token or smartphone), and something the user is (biometric data). This layered approach provides a higher level of security. reCAPTCHA does not provide any means to verify the identity of the user beyond confirming their humanity. In banking, it is essential to have a robust identification process to ensure that the person conducting the transaction is the legitimate account holder. This typically involves additional security measures like username/password combinations, security questions, or two-factor authentication methods. While reCAPTCHA has proven effective in deterring many automated bots, it is not foolproof. There have been instances where sophisticated bots or human-powered services have managed to bypass reCAPTCHA. Additionally, attackers can employ various techniques, such as using machine learning algorithms or distributed human labor, to overcome the challenges posed by reCAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA can contribute to the security of online banking websites, it should be implemented as part of a broader security framework that includes multi-factor authentication, user identification processes, encryption, and robust anti-fraud measures. A comprehensive approach is necessary to ensure the security and integrity of banking transactions in the face of evolving cyber threats.

I live 20 miles from my nearest branch. Had a simple question that could have been answered in 2 minutes. Do you people realize how difficult, no almost impossible to telephone one of your offices, If one does not know an employee by name and how to spell it the call goes now where. I drove the 20 miles to the branch and still got no answer to my question. Dumb
