Stay far away from any rental managed by this company. Look out for AIRBNB and VRBO. I truly feel bad for property owners using this management company as they are incredibly negligent in their management, communication, and execution. We rented a home through their company for a weekend in blowing rock and had a disaster of an experience. We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday to no heat or hot water. After several hours of trying to reach their “emergency line” due to a gas smell in the home, I resorted to calling 911. Blue ridge sends their renters to an offshore call center at 5pm on a weekday with no one local to talk to. After we have spent several thousand dollars a night, this is simply inexcusable and poor customer service. Blue ridge was not able to refill the propane until the next day despite their statement saying “within a few hours” As it turns out, blue ridge management had neglected to fill the propane to the home and we had to pack up and leave with two small children in below freezing temps and icy roads. The fire department pointed out that there was no working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector or working heat, and that the condo was not safe to stay. After repeated calls to blue ridge the next morning, a representative assured me that I would be compensated for the hotel stay we had to purchase since we were displaced by their rental mismanagement. After several back and forth emails with blue ridge representative, “Amy Wright”, I was informed that they had reneged on their promise to compensate. And that a refund of just the amount paid was “fair”.

Amazing winter view and comfortable beds with ample space for everyone to spread out. Location was very close to the sledding hill which was great for the kids and made it easy to get around after a snow storm since the main road is always plowed.

We've been renting through Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals for several years, and we have never been disappointed. The staff has always been polite, patient, and professional. The houses have been clean, comfortable, and more than we expected. We will continue to rent through them.

Your reservation process and quick response to our questions/needs before and during our stay were appreciated and not the norm for rental companies. It is what keeps us coming back to Blueridge Rentals year after year. Keep up the great customer service.

Home is beautiful! Loved waking up in master bedroom looking out at deer walking up the mountain. The kids bunk room is adorable and they loved having their own space downstairs to hang. The upstairs has a great floor plan for entertaining. It’s nice that it close to the main entrance because you can get to town faster.

This feedback is only about the customer service. As not every vacation is perfect to a tea, I am impressed on how Blue Ridge Mountain taking a time to review the 8 point issues we had during our stay in one of their properties. They were very welcoming of my feedback and a regular check-in during our stay was conducted.

The house is beautiful and has most everything you would need. Our only problem was that the driveway is very long and steep and it was covered with so much snow that we couldn’t make it down the driveway in our SUV with 4WD until the second day. It felt like we lost two days of our vacation because of shoveling and salting the driveway and we still couldn’t make it down the driveway. I immediately called the maintenance team when we arrived but they said the didn’t plow driveways. When I called a second time to check again about plowing because we still couldn’t make it down the driveway, and because they also hadn’t delivered our firewood, they said they do plow driveways, but it still took them two days before they showed up. This was our third time staying in this home and overall I would recommend it but beware of the long, steep driveway if it is winter time. The pictures do not show the length or the steepness of the driveway.

Great location and unit was very nice overall. However, there was no bathroom sink. At all. Just missing. That was just strange Also called twice to try and get gas fireplace to work (we were in the mountains while it was snowing) and never received response. Talked with someone finally but no one really cared.

Our main complaint was with the kitchen. The oven door would not close properly and all the controls on the front of the stove would get very hot. We had a toddler with us who wanted to be in the kitchen. We had to watch her very closely so she didn't get burned. I burned myself when I tried to turn on a burner on top of the stove. That's whe I realized this was a significant safety hazard. I called the maintenance number and was today they had nothing in the notes about the stove.l called the owner and she said it was Italian and she probably needed to buy a different stove. She said there was one man at the maintenance office who has worked on it before. He came on Tuesday ( this problem started on Saturday), and ended up putting 2 pieces of Gorilla tape on either side of the oven to keep the door closed. He left a strip in the garage incase we needed more. It helped but we still could not touch the dials without a pot holder. Then the dishwasher didn't clean the dishes and we had to rewash most of them by hand. Also, the cabinets were set back and it was difficult to get dishes, glasses etc. Other than that the rest of the house was lovely. The fenced yard was nice for our dogs.

The Heart Rock Lodge is everything you might want or need for a comfortable family vacation. It is spacious but cozy, has beautiful mountain views, has a fully equipped kitchen with newer items, and comfortable beds. Communication with the rental office was easy and we were well informed with important information. Customer Service was quick to respond. I highly recommend this Lodge and Blue Ridge Mt. Rentals and hope to return again soon.

I would caution renters from using BRMR. We rented "Vilas Retreat" the weekend of 1/17. We had a series of problems with maintenance. To start the front door lock batteries were dead. After waiting an hour for a call they got us in the garage. Then the alarm went off and they didn't have the code. Next we discovered the main floor heat wasn't operating. We obviously asked for help and they said they would get back to us. No one did. The entire very cold weekend without heat on the first floor. Finally, the BBQ had fallen over in the dirt..not burgers as planned. I asked for resolution when we returned and they provided a $283 refund or 19% of our rental and a $100 credit for future rentals. Ridiculous. Insignificant and why would spend more $$ with a company that treated us so poorly.

We loved this house and hope to go back someday! It was cozy yet roomy with fantastic views. The hot tub was a great addition. Communication was excellent.

I called for maintenance due to our jets spitting out dirt and not being able to use the jacuzzi tub. Also, the hot tub didn’t quite get as hot as it needed to be. I was told that maintenance would come out but no one ever did.

Beautiful cabin, actually even *more* cozy than we expected from the pictures. Gas heater is very strong and easily kept us toasty. Plenty of towels and blankets! Good dishes/cups/etc. and had coffee, tea and creamer available which was a nice surprise. Hot tub worked great and we had fun with it! We were very blessed with snow throughout the visit, and the grounds are beautiful to watch with snow falling. Overall everything we could have hoped for on a “snowcation”! We’d definitely like to return someday! We had a couple issues (the fireplace didn’t work and we had a pretty bad electrical short with the washer), but we were in contact with management during the trip, and after the visit they’ve followed up to genuinely try to make it right, so we are still very pleased. Last note: the owners advise you must have 4-wheel drive in the winter — this is true! We did and were totally fine, but a friend with front-wheel drive tried to stop by and couldn’t make it up!
