This is a beautiful home with wonderful views, a convenient location to Banner Elk and is as described by BRMR. The Bedrooms with large full baths offer privacy for several couples or large families while common areas provide viewing and dining for everyone. Kitchen has everything for a quick snack to a gourmet meal for an entire family. The home was spotless! The gated community is hilly but a huge common area at the entrance offers play area for children and walking for others You won’t be disappointed by this home. Having rented thru Blue Ridge in the past this is a first class company with excellent customer service.

The first night that we got there, we couldn’t get into the house for almost 2 hours. Finally they got us into the house and we get into the house and run the air conditioner for almost 3 hours and it doesn’t cool the house off it stays 82 Inside. By the time they agreed to move us to another cabin it was thundering, lightning pouring rain, and I had to drag kids in a one-year-old out in that to move to another cabin close to midnight. Then they proceeded to tell me that I had to pay the difference in the cabins that they had to move me to completely unacceptable. Then we get to the new cabin and there is cobwebs and spiders everywhere. The house didn’t look like it. Had anybody stay in it recently. So we get everything unloaded, and everybody inside in the pouring rain. Once we get inside, the lights switches don’t work. The lights don’t work so it was almost completely dark in the living room. The back door didn’t lock. And the AC wouldn’t go below 74. I don’t know if most of you know that cabins can get kind of hot. So then we get up the next morning and around 9 AM. The power goes out. There was a power outage that lasted until almost 5:00 PM. At this point, I’m pretty much over the whole situation and just ready to go back home. My oldest son got up and he had bites all over him throughout the day. Two other kids had bites all over them. I would be walking around the house and feel like somethings biting me. Not sure if it’s bedbugs or fleas or what it was. Needless to say our experience, this time wasn’t very great. The care team did offer to take off the charges for the difference in switching from one cabin to the other, which should’ve happened regardless. My mom and dad were so disappointed that they didn’t get to come down until Saturday morning then they get there and the powers out and they went ahead and left Sunday morning instead of Monday with us just because everything that was happening. I did deal with customer care and they made the choice not to charge us for the cabin move in the difference in price, which is understandable because it wasn’t my fault. The AC went out in the other cabin. That should’ve happened anyways, but I received the email that said they were doing that as a courtesy and that after we left the cabin, there would be no additional discount given. Acting like you’re doing me a huge favor by not charging me the price difference to move me cabins that didn’t compensate for all the trouble that we went through the entire weekend. I also own a business this is completely unacceptable.

From the moment I called the company to book our stay, to the morning we checked out, everything was wonderful. I spoke with two helpful property managers to book our rental. Everything was explained thoroughly to me. Therefore, it was easy to access the neighborhood and the home- it was dark out by the time we arrived. The home was absolutely splendid- spotless, spacious, very nicely furnished with high end furniture, linens, blankets, dishes, utensils, etc…. There was a ping pong table in the garage which was awesome! The views were beautiful, neighborhood was peaceful. There were so many activities IN the neighborhood- putt putt, a gigantic fun playground, a big flat field where the kids played football with a group that had gathered there, a quaint restaurant that also had a playing field, so the kids played with these huge inflatable tubes while we waited for our food. There were food trucks and a band on one of the evenings! The entire weekend was a dream- away from the city and spending time in the fresh air. Like being back in the 80’s!

For the price, the house is poorly maintained and cleaned. Rugs were filthy, lots of spider webs, outdoor cushions were torn snd very stained, several light bulbs were out, outdoor fireplace was broken as was pieces of furniture and window cranks. Mattresses, pads and pillows were old and lumpy. There were lots of wasps nests in stone wall. We bought 3 cans of spray and killed 20+. Stairs going to second floor are very dangerous. Coming down, 4 people fell at the bottom where the hand rail ends prematurely. The deck and the views are the highlights. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and functional.

This is our fourth year coming back to Eagles Nest for Labor Day weekend and this is certainly the nicest house that we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. We are four couples and four teenagers and we all had plenty of rooms and bathrooms here at Firefly Springs… in fact, we had an extra bedroom for The teenager who won the poker game that night! Everything from the kitchen and state-of-the-art appliances to the massive decks and amazing hot tub was top notch! We even had a power outage, but the generator kept us in business. If you’re reading this… Please don’t book it for Labor Day weekend next year - We would love to stay again!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Banner Elk. It was a nice way to get away from the summer heat. Eagles Nest is a quiet and beautiful development. BRMR had the house in immaculate condition when we arrived. During our stay, there was a minor inconvenience that was addressed quickly by BRMR. We look forward to a future visit!

We had a few issues at our condo, but this company has gone out of their way to make sure we were happy with our experience. We have rented from them for several years, and highly recommend their company.

The house is in a great location near North Pavilion and recreational areas (disc golf, tennis, pickleball). It has nice mountain views from the back of the house. It's great pricing especially with all four bedrooms having king sized beds. All of the propane tanks were empty and both fire tables on the porch did not work even after having BRMR bring over a full tank. BRMR was very responsive and helpful with all questions prior to and during the stay. The house is less than a year old so it was very clean except for one of the bedrooms ceiling fan caked with dust that looks like it had been continually missed during cleanings. The biggest issue with the house is the terrible gravel driveway that was heavily washed out making it at times difficult to get back up to the paved road.

The biggest problem we had was the length of time it took from the main gate to the cabin over the most unsafe roads and the weather limiting the coming and going because of dense fog and a road with out safety rails this should have been noted if we new this we would not have taken this place
